James Franco Roasted For Wearing 'Times Up' Pin

James Franco is under fire after wearing a “Times Up” pin at the Golden Globes on Sunday.

The 39-year-old actor as at the Golden Globes ceremony where he took home the award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Tommy Wiseau in The Disaster Artist. While on stage, many women noticed him wearing a “Times Up” pin and took to social media to point out the stinging hypocrisy.

One actress, Sarah Tither-Kaplan, accused Franco of exploiting her to do nude scenes in one of his short films.

“Hey James Franco, nice #timesup pin at the #GoldenGlobes,” wrote Kaplan. “Remember a few weeks ago when you told me the full nudity you had me do in two of your movies for $100/day wasn't exploitative because I signed a contract to do it? Times up on that!”

The movie she appears to be referring to is The Long Home starring Ashton Kutcher, Courtney Love, Robin Lord Taylor, Annaleigh Tipton, Josh Hutcherson and Oscar-winner Timothy Hutton. It was supposed to be released sometime in 2017, but so far no news of an updated release has been issued.

Another woman speaking out is Violet Paley, a writer and actress in Los Angeles. After seeing him at the Golden Globes she Tweeted, “Cute #TIMESUP pin James Franco. Remember the time you pushed my head down in a car towards your exposed penis & that other time you told my friend to come to your hotel when she was 17? After you had already been caught doing that to a different 17-year-old.”

The “different 17-year-old” appears to be a reference to Lucy Clode, a Scottish woman who caught Franco on Broadway in 2014. After the show, she stayed to get Franco’s autograph and posted the shot on her Instagram.

Later, Franco tracked down Clode on Instagram where the two started a flirtatious conversation. Clode seemed incredulous, but Franco eventually proved he was the real deal and wanted to meet with the barely-legal teen.

Franco never denied the incident even as the scandal broke, replying in an interview at the time, “It's the way that people meet each other today, but what I've learned - I guess because I'm new to it - is you don't know who's on the other end.”

“I used bad judgment and I learned my lesson,” he added.
