Drew Carey nearly bought it on The Price Is Right last Wednesday after a contestant caused him to nearly fall off the stage.

As the host of The Price Is Right, Carey is no stranger to enthusiastic contestants, but one exuberant contestant proved to be a bit too much for the jovial gameshow host.

After calling a woman named Sona to come up on stage, she let her emotions get the better of both herself and Carey. She hugged Carey, which would normally be par for the course, but then couldn’t bring herself to stop jumping for joy. She then lost her footing and fell backward, dragging Carey down with her.

Carey, evidently a gameshow ninja, managed to brace himself on the ledge of lightbulbs that lined the stage and prevent himself from falling off. He also managed to keep hold of his signature microphone despite the tumble. Perhaps it’s the source of his power?

Carey let everyone know he was fine by shouting, “Hey everybody!” Sona, of course, apologized but went ballistic again after being offered a brand new car.

Unfortunately for Sona, she eventually lost in her bid for the car. Carey unveiled the game Pass The Buck, which involves guessing which of six spaces hides the image of a car. Sona did walk away with $3,000, so it wasn’t a total loss.

This is hardly Carey’s first time being borderline-assaulted by an over-enthusiastic contestant. In 2014, a man named Christopher charged the stage and lifted Carey over his head and spun him around before dumping him on his back.

After picking him off the floor, Christopher asked, “You alright, Drew? I’m sorry!” He then kissed him on the cheek.

That may be Carey’s worst tumble, but it’s not too far ahead of another near-fall he had in 2012 after a contestant named Destiny charged him after being called on stage. After leaping onto Carey’s torso the two fell back onto the stage wall, which barely kept them up.

Lucky for Drew, Neil Patrick Harris was on the show (for whatever reason) and he was able to pawn off some of her excitement on the famous actor. She tackled him to the ground so fast one of his legs got caught under him.

She also asked if NPH was alright, to which he replied, “Yeah, I’m great.”
