Dr. Strange Is Out And The Reviews Are In, Here's What People Are Saying About The Latest Marvel Movie

Midnight movie goers hit up theaters last night to see the latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the general consensus is that Doctor Strange is mind-blowing!

It seems the film may have re-invigorated audiences who were clearly starting to feel superhero fatigue from the number of films that have begun to feel almost formulaic in nature. The movie is sitting on top of a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes with an average score of 7.3 out of 10.

Not all reviews have been dazzling; while most critics appreciate the visual feast that Doctor Strange seems to offer, a few have pointed out that it feels almost too much like Iron Man but with different actors in play. According to Brooklyn Magazine:

"Doctor Strange is the first Marvel movie that feels not just a little generic, but like an actual remake of another, specific Marvel film: This is basically Iron Man with weaker laugh lines and vastly cooler action sequences. It’s Iron Man meets Thor 2, and the thing is, those guys have met before.

So instead of hotshot arms manufacturer Tony Stark, we’re introduced to hotshot surgeon Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) who, like Stark, is temporarily undone by his own hubris;... instead of impromptu engineering skills saving his sense of purpose, it’s a set of mystical skills he acquires by unwittingly seeking out the Ancient One."

However, audiences from celebrities to your every man on Twitter have nothing but good things to say about the film.

Whether or not you find the plot interesting or even comprehensible, Doctor Strange appears to be the must-see movie of the year!
