Let’s face it, no matter how much we may love them we have all at some point been in an argument with our parents and while in most cases these arguments are over something trivial, they are usually solved after spending a few hours apart.
However, not everyone—celebrities included—are lucky enough to have these kinds of carefree relationships with their parents, as past actions or simple disagreements can often lead to relationships growing sour and becoming filled with hatred and resentment. When adding the pressure of fame, money, and the ever-intruding public eye, it is easy to understand why many of these celebrity feuds often last for many years, if not decades.
From complete public meltdowns to abusive altercations, here are five celebrity offspring that downright hate their famous parents.
Frances Bean Cobain
Growing up without a father can be incredibly tough, but when adding an alcoholic and drug abusing mother who has even credited crack cocaine for making her better at complex mathematics into the equation we can only imagine what life must have been like for Frances Bean Cobain growing up.
However, life for the daughter of legendary rock icon Kurt Cobain hasn’t been particularly great as after a series of events Cobain filed a restraining order against her mother Courtney Love when she was just 17-years old after the pair were allegedly involved in a physical altercation.
Unsurprisingly though, this isn’t the first time that Cobain has been taken out of Love’s custody as child welfare offices have removed her from Love’s care on several occasions when growing up for allegations relating to drugs, overdoses, suicide threats, and even attempted break-ins.

Marquise Jackson
It’s no secret that 50 Cent and his eldest son Marquise Jackson don’t exactly get along as the two have often taken jabs at one another over social media—with 50 Cent even going as far as publicly disowning his son via Instagram earlier this year.
Things haven’t always been this way though, as Marquise did indeed have a relationship with his father growing up, but thanks to a rather nasty divorce between 50 and his ex-wife Shaniqua Tompkins, things quickly went south as their hate-filled separation began effecting Marquise’s relationship with his father.
From shocking text messages, rearranging his will to remove his Marquise’s name, missing birthdays and graduations, and even some rather jarring social media posts containing information no father should ever say, it’s quite obvious that 50 Cent will not be taking home any “father of the year” awards anytime soon.

Michael Jackson & The Jackson Five
There is no denying that The Jackson 5 is one of the most famous bands ever. They had fame and the fortune to go with it. Yet, little did most people know, behind closed doors their father Joe Jackson was sitting just 10 feet away with a belt during rehearsals, waiting for them to make one simple little mistake. These children who seemly had it all were not only deprived of a childhood, but they were also physically and mentally abused by their very own father.
The abuse got so bad that Michael confessed to a close friend shortly before his death that his father regularly whipped him on the back and abused him so much that he couldn’t forgive his father for his actions as he made his childhood unbearable. Jackson even went as far as to remove his father completely from his will.

Kate Hudson
Known mostly for her successful romantic comedy films, many will be surprised to find out that Kate Hudson and her brother Oliver Hudson are actually estranged from their biological father, musician Bill Hudson.
Things haven’t always been this way though, as growing up the two siblings were rather close to their father following his divorce from their mother Goldie Hawn. However, over time their relationship began to deteriorate due to a lack of communication.
As it seems though, the abandonment of their father—who eventually began a new family—took its toll on the Hudson siblings as when Father’s Day 2015 rolled around a series of family photos were posted to Oliver’s Instagram with the caption “Happy Abandonment Day.”
After the photos were posted, Bill Hudson went on record during an interview to publicly disown both Kate and Oliver.

Angelina Jolie
It should come as no surprise that Angelina Jolie makes an appearance on this list as her rather troubled relationship with her famous father Jon Voight has been nothing but public.
The infamous feud between the two first began when Jolie was just a child as Voight reportedly decided to walk out on both her and her mother after having an affair.
Despite seemly getting along as Jolie grew up, their relationship took a turn for the worse when Voight made a rather bold claim during an interview with Access Hollywood where he stated that his daughter had “serious mental problems.”
After Voight decided to publicly embarrass his daughter on national TV, Jolie reportedly didn’t speak to her father for over six-and-a-half years and even dropped Voight from her legal last name.
