Bill O’Reilly Loses Custody Of His Children After Alleged Domestic Violence Incident

Bill O’ Reilly has been the face of American news for decades, and whether you love or hate him, he is one of the most respected names in the business. Plus, Stephen Colbert got to constantly poke fun at him on the Colbert Report, affectionately referring to him as Papa Bear!

However, things are not all fun and games for Papa. O’Reilly was married to Maureen McPhilmy from 1996 until their separation in 2010 and they had two children, now aged 13 and 17. While O’Reilly denied the claims, his daughter stated last year to a forensic examiner that she saw Bill dragging her mother down a staircase by her neck. O’Reilly was also in the middle of a sexual harassment lawsuit in 2004 with a former Fox News Producer which was settled out of court.

It was announced on Monday, that Bill O’Reilly will lose custody of his children after an apparent domestic violence incident. While the details of the alleged incident are not given, it came after four court justices ruled unanimously that Maureen’s care was “the clearly stated preferences of the children” and the “quality of the home environment provided by the mother.”

Along with this, the court has also ruled that they would “share custody over issues like which schools the children should attend, which medical care they receive and the religion they practise.”

While this case is still developing, it is yet another black mark on Papa Bear, Bill O’Reilly.
