Did Beyoncé Steal From Taylor Swift For Her New Music Video?

Joseph Kahn who has directed many music videos for Taylor Swift accused Beyoncé of stealing ideas from Swift’s video. He drew some remarkable similarities between Swift’s latest music video, Look What You Made Me Do, and Beyoncé’s Formation. Beyoncé’s fans were quick to react to Kahn’s claims, and it didn’t go down well.

It seems like Taylor Swift isn’t receiving the type of comeback she’d planned with her latest song, Look What You Made Me Do (LWYMMD). After watching the music video, Beyoncé’s fans, who lovingly call themselves Beyhive, were quick to point out that Taylor Swift copied looks from Beyoncé’s Formation music video from her album Lemonade (2016).

However, according to Cosmopolitan, Swift’s video producer, Joseph Kahn, was quick to point out that Swift and dance crew had worn black crop tops in the Bad Blood (2014) music video. So Beyonce was the one who copied Swift. After Kahn’s accusations, Beyhive kept wondering how wearing black crop tops is stealing an idea.

"It’s not “Formation” at all. They try to say she’s wearing a black crop top and Beyoncé wore a black crop top. But they don’t realize in 2015 in “Bad Blood,” Taylor Swift was wearing a black crop top. I really do think, by the way, that Beyoncé copied “Bad Blood.”

A member from Beyhive said that Swift’s comeback music video was a poor man’s Britney and Swift is trying to be someone who she actually isn’t. Other fans harshly commented it is like Lemonade and Minute Maid.

Kahn is famous on Twitter for his confusing and sexist tweets. On Aug. 25, 2017,  Kahn, who worked with Beyoncé before, tweeted that she is a great person and LWYMMD is not her type. He also tweeted saying that if a man invents something, he is a genius but if Swift invents it, then it is manipulative.

Kahn said that he likes that Swifties (Taylor Swift’s fans) do not attack like Beyhive. In May 2017, Kahn harshly joked about Katy Perry’s Swish Swish and advised her if she wanted to make a diss track, she would have tried making a better one. During the the whole Kanye West and Swift’s controversy in 2016, Kahn supported Swift and called her a rainbow in a swamp. He also said the Kardashians are famous only because of Kim Kardashian West’s sex tape and the family involvement in OJ Simpson’s case.
