While Bella Thorne was slamming body shamers online, she may have dropped a racist comment. Thorne is all about body positivity and loving the skin you’re in. She’s always on social media saying that her body isn’t perfect, and she seems to take some particular joy in showing off those imperfections. Like that time she showed off her armpit hair on Snapchat - although, sticking her tongue in it might have been a little bit too far.

Or that time she came down with the flu and decided to post her resultant facial acne on Instagram. It’s almost like she’s deliberately trying to sabotage any future modeling career she could have. Her latest gaffe comes from another post on Instagram, but this time not with a display of hair or acne.

Last Thursday, Thorne posted a photo of herself sitting on a chair wearing nothing but high heels. And when we say nothing, we mean that literally.

The photo is part of a spread she’ll be doing for GQ Mexico. The post has also landed her in a bit of hot water, but not for the racy image. It was actually due to what she said in the post itself.

In keeping with Bella’s message of body positivity, she starts off by saying she told GQ not to use photoshop to touch up any of her blemishes despite the fact she has “insecurities, about pretty much everything.” She then goes on to say that it’s totally normal to have those insecurities in the first place.

“Know that it's completely normal to feel insecure and it's accepted,” she wrote. “Honestly I wish everyone talked more about their insecurities so more people in the world could know they aren't alone.”

The post was initially met with praise by her followers, however, some critical Twitter users had a problem with the last sentence of her post, which read, “IM A HUMAN BEING AND IM REAL. So hip hop your asses over the fence and GET OVER IT.”

The phrase “hip hop over the fence” was considered by some as a racist comment against Mexican border hoppers, especially since the photo was from GQ Mexico.

Once news of the slight emerged Bella was quick to respond, taking to Twitter herself to announce she was proud of her Latina heritage.

However, not everyone was convinced.

Still, others came to her support, saying it was clearly not meant as a slight against Mexicans.

So far Thorne hasn’t responded to anyone’s request for comment, so looks like she’s going to try and bury this one. We’ll see if the internet will let her forget.
