Air Jordan 'Gym Red' Sneaker Release Date & Details

Air Jordan 11 ‘Gym Red’ aka Air Jordan 11 Chicago is set to release just before Christmas on Dec. 16, 2017. The pair of hot red shoes is expected to be priced at $220. A similar design was originally made for a Jordan Brand athlete, Carmelo Anthony, in 2014, but now it will be released for everyone in Jordans retail stores during the Christmas holidays of 2017.

If these shoes look familiar, it's because Carmelo Anthony, popularly known as Melo, wore the 2014 version during the celebrations of his 30th birthday in New York City. He and his wife, Lala, hosted a dinner for friends and family.

According to SoleCollector, the shoe is made in a bright red hue, the Gym Red has white and black detailings. It features a red mesh and patent leather construction, a white midsole, and translucent blue outsole. A black Jordan logo sits on the heel.

There is one difference in the design that was released in 2014 and the one which is set to release in 2017. The leather construction is higher in 2017 version as compared to the original design.

The company will also be releasing Air Jordan 11 Midnight Navy aka Air Jordan 11 UNC. These two pairs of shoes will be Jordan Brand’s way of paying tribute to Michael Jordan’s career at both college and professional level.

Air Jordan 11 UNC releases on America’s favorite shopping day, Black Friday, which falls on Nov. 24, 2017. The shoe features a navy blue patent leather and Cordura white mesh construction with blue branding. The Midnight Navy Air Jordan is a callback to Michael’s days at the University of North Carolina.

Not only that, but the new year is going to bring in new shoe boxes as well. An Instagram user who goes by the name Chickenwop leaked the design of the shoe boxes which give a rather retro vibe and are more vibrant than the boxes currently being used.

The new designs have stayed up to Air Jordan 11’s reputation and have got fans around the world excited for its release. And now, we can’t wait to see them take over social media after their release.
