Hippies sold food out of their trucks and vans to finance following The Dead. Food trucks have become an unstopable foodie trend and now there are food trucks selling everything from sushi to lobster.

Dyeing it yourself, or buying it pre-dyed; it's still considered mainstream.

Once only for Hippies, Dr. Bronner's castile soap products are now sold everywhere from the local health food store to Wal-Mart.
