Royal Baby Boosts Economy by $380 Million

Retailers assume that the Royal Baby will boost the British economy by over $400 million. Businesses assume to earn $380 million from food, drink and merchandise revolving around the new addition to the happy royal couple of mother Kate Middleton and father Prince William.

Not only did the birth of Prince George Alexander Louis cause pride to Great Britain but it also boosted business opportunities for the British people.

It is said to impact tourists who are expected to stop at the palace to take a peek at the newest addition to the royal family.

Royal baby merchandise is all over the place from the $22 Uncle Harry bib, $21 baby boots, $66 Knitted crown, $75 limited edition hamper, $34 for a pair of baby shoes, $340 limited edition teddy bear, and other similar products. Jewelries which can be added to the royal baby collection items are sold at $300 to $124,000.

Other forecasts also states that 4.8 million people are expected to spend $103 million for alcohol and $41 million for food to venerate the birth of Prince George. A $258 million amount is estimated to be spent for commemorative china collectibles.

Sales at the end of August were reported to be $94 million on alcohol and $121 million on souvenirs and toys.
