Is Marc Jacobs Leaving the Billion Dollar LVMH Business?

It was reported Monday, that Marc Jacobs, who has been at his post with Louis Vuitton for 16 years, is set to leave his post, in an attempt to work on his own brand, and create his own namesake in his own organization. The retail sales for his product lines and designs that he has created for the company, top the billions of dollars mark in profits that have come to the company from his design work.

With reports stating that he might be eyeing an IPO, Marc Jacobs has hinted at the possibility of leaving the organization after 16 years, and making a name for himself elsewhere. Although contract negotiation talks have been rapid between both sides, and the Louis Vuitton team is trying to keep him within the organization, it appears to be more the case that he is going to leave, once his contract with the company expires.
