Car manufacturing is entering a new terrain, as is exemplified by Maserati’s latest creative endeavour with the Alfieri Concept, Chevrolet’s Corvette Stingray and LaFerrari, to name but a few. The year 2014 has a host of fully redesigned models on offer to satisfy your need for speed, combined with luxury. We have all of the details on the latest models here for you!

10 Maserati Alfieri Concept: $TBA

The year 2014 marks Maserati’s 100th year in business and they couldn't have chosen a better way to celebrate than with the creation of the Concept. Choosing a traditional car layout, the 2 + 2 seat sports coupe was inspired by the A6GCS/54 with its long hood and compact rear-set cabin. The Maserati’s 4.7 litre V8 engine produces 460 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque through a six speed, electro actuated gearbox and a LSD. It reaches 60 MPH in just four seconds and has a maximum speed of 155 MPH. There is currently no price tag on the Alfieri Concept.

9 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray/Cadillac CTS: $51,995

The seventh generation Corvette Stingray, better known as the C7, is up there with the world’s most venerated sports cars. The Corvette has earned its place as America’s sports car and the C7 has been hailed as the best one yet! More sculpted and better proportioned than previous generations, the C7 has come up trumps in terms of output, refinement, and features alike.

It is powered by a 6.2 litre V8 and has a direct fuel injection, variable valve timing and a cylinder-deactivation system that cuts out four of the eight cylinders when cruising, which saves on fuel. Reaching up to 60 MPH in less than four seconds, with 455 horsepower and seven speeds, the C7 is quite the bargain at $51,995.

8 Alfa Romeo 4C: $74,733

Alfa Romeo has taken a back seat in the creativity stakes in recent years. That's because the 4C's key element is its low dry weight of 1,973 lbs which comes from being built using carbon-fibre for the chassis and the engine and sub-frames built with all-aluminum. The 237 horsepower, 1.7 litre aluminium turbocharged engine gives the Alfa Romeo 4C the power to reach 62 MPH in a mere 4.5 seconds. According to the team over at Autocar, ‘on a horsepower/litre basis it roundly beats some of the greatest race engines ever built.’ That is no mean feat!

7 SRT Viper Roadster: $103,990

2014 will see the return of the open-top SRT Viper Roadster. The fifth generation boasts a more refined version of its predecessor. For instance, the 640 horsepower, 8.4 litre V-10 roadster is much classier in appearance. The latest Viper comes equipped with launch and stability control. With its six speed Tremec gearbox, this little land rocket reaches a speed in excess of 200 MPH! The price has yet to be announced, although it is estimated to be in and around $103,990

6 Mercedes Benz S-Class Coupe: $116,127

A sporty version of the Mercedes S-Class, the two-door coupe does not disappoint! The futuristic coupe boasts 6D vision, monitoring traffic and pedestrians for up to 50 meters with an ‘Active Curve’ element. This also works to tip the individual struts, which in turn braces the coupe against surrounding forces making for a much smoother ride. The car’s Magic Body control system determines the suspension according to the road conditions ahead. Boosted by two turbochargers, it develops 449 horsepower and reaches up to 62 MPH in a mere 4.8 seconds! Prices start at around $166,127

5 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe: $141,205

If you're on the lookout for the best car for speed, look no further than the F-type R Coupe. Jaguar’s fastest ever car, at 186 mph all out, 0-60mph in 4. seconds, the team at TopGear claim that is ‘Porsche Turbo baiting stuff for a lot less money.’ It comes equipped with 5.0 litre V8 rip, developing 542 horsepower. The V8 includes an enhanced electronically controlled limited-slip differential (LSD) as well as torque vectoring which functions by applying the brakes on the inside of the car, dragging it into turns. This makes for a much flatter feel when driving around bends. This classy coupe doesn't come cheap, priced at a steep $141,205.

4 Rolls-Royce Wraith: $300,000

This is one for the car connoisseurs among us. The two-door, sportier version of the Ghost, is powered by a twin turbocharged 6.6 litre V-12. Reaching up to 60 MPH in 4.4 seconds and with more the 620 horsepower, the Wraith is a quick one – the fastest and most dynamic Rolls on the market. Its pioneering eight-speed ZF gearbox with Satellite Aided Transmission (SAT) enables the car to predict traffic and pedestrians for miles ahead and adjust the automatic gear changes accordingly. The most powerful Rolls Royce ever made, this will appeal to those who seek to marry tradition and dynamism.

3 Ferrari LaFerrari: $1.2 Million

One of the more exotic sports cars on the market, the LaFerrari’s 789-hp V-12 develops a 161 horsepower lift from an electric motor. While hybrids once got a bad rap, that is no longer the case with big brands churning out immensely powerful hybrids! The electric motor enables the LaFerrari to accelerate to 62 MPH in under 3 seconds and an astounding 124 MPH in under 7 seconds. Undoubtedly it is one of the fastest machines on the market. The V12 rotates to 9250 rpm, producing a staggering 790 horsepower! Additionally, the electric motor adds the equivalent of another 160 horsepower.

2 Porsche 918 Spyder: $1.3 Million

The 918 Spyder produces 875 horsepower thanks to a V8 engine, electric power and four wheel drive. It reaches up to 60 MPH in just 2.5 seconds and 186 MPH in 20.9 seconds. Reaching insanely high speeds in those timeframes, we can see why it is hailed as the new Supercar. ‘Rivals like the McLaren P1 and LaFerrari will have a serious fight on their hands against Porsche's phenomenal 918.’ It comes with five drive modes, among those Edrive, Sport and Race. However, the 918 Spyder comes with a hefty price tag, starting at over $1 million.

1 Bugatti Veyron Rembrandt Legends Edition: $3 Million

This is the fourth model in a six-part ‘Les Légendes de Bugatti’ series. With an 8 litre W16 engine, it produces an astounding 1,200 horsepower giving a top speed of 254 MPH. This edition of the Veyron is especially valuable as only three cars will be produced. This car commemorates Rembrandt Bugatti’s favoured artistic medium and so the emphasis is placed on aesthetic pleasure. That said, it boasts ‘1184 horsepower and 1106 lb-ft of torque from a quad-turbo W-16 engine, yielding a 0-to-62 mph sprint in 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 254 mph.’
