Don’t mess with Texas. That’s the unofficial slogan of the Lone Star State, which is known for their cowboys, big portions, and beautiful women. We had no idea just how many beautiful Hollywood celebs came from Texas, and this list may surprise you. Some of these female celebrities grew up in Texas, while others were born there and then moved on. But either way, they have the right to call Texas their home.
For a while, Texas was not a favorite state. Much of America was unhappy with President George W. Bush, who once served as governor. Bush was perceived as a fool and a naive rich-boy, who had no idea how to run a country. However, now that Trump is in office, Bush looks like a freaking genius, and Texas has totally redeemed itself. Meanwhile, towns like Houston and Austin have grown and become increasingly hip. Texas is now the second largest state in both land mass and population.
Yes, it’s true that everything is bigger in Texas. There are huge ranches, huge guns, concerts, stadiums, enormous state pride, big hair, giant barbecues, and millions of obese people. There are also plenty of big boobs and butts. So, let’s take a look at the prettiest celebrity women from Texas.
15. Jessica Alba – Born in Pomona, California, Moved to Del Rio, Texas As A Child
Jessica Alba was born in Pomona, California, but moved to Del Rio, Texas as a child. While she grew up, she was not a very healthy kid. She suffered from a collapsed lung a couple of times and constantly got pneumonia. She eventually recovered and turned into a beautiful woman. Alba has been in a bit of hot water lately over her Honest Company. The billion-dollar corporation that specializes in healthy food and consumer goods, which Alba co-founded in 2011, has been sued twice now over ironically dishonest labeling. Honest laundry detergent actually contained ingredients that were proven to be skin irritants. The company should recover with plenty of cash to spare, though. They went from a worth of $170 million to $1.7 billion in just one year. With Alba concentrating on raising kids and business stuff, her Hollywood prowess has suffered, but she still shows up looking great every now and then.
14. Selena Gomez – Born in Grand Prairie, Texas
Here is another Texan gal who made it big in Hollywood. Selena Gomez was born in Grand Prairie, Texas and was named after the Texan musician, Selena, before the singer was assassinated. For a while, Gomez had a normal Texan upbringing. “My family does have Quinceañeras, and we go to the communion church. We do everything that’s Catholic, but we don’t really have anything traditional except [that we] go to the park and have barbecues on Sundays after church,” she said. After her parents’ divorce, Selena moved to LA and was cast on Barney and Friends. Soon, she caught the eye of Disney’s casting agents. She appeared on several Disney sitcoms and eventually landed her own lead on Wizards of Waverly Place. Since then, Gomez has appeared in several films and has also had a decent musical career. In her latest video for “Bad Liar,” Selena is all dolled up with big hair, just like a 1970’s Texan.
13. Amber Heard – Born in Austin, Texas
Amber Heard was born in Austin, Texas, where she had a turbulent time in her teens. Her boyfriend tragically died in a car crash; and then, the future Hollywood hottie dropped out of high school. Seems like a logical next step to say “forget this” and head to LA. Amber made her feature film debut in the Texas-based Friday Night Lights. She went on to star in several other flicks and then met her husband, Johnny Depp, while shooting The Rum Diary. Of course, we all know how that worked out. Amber claimed that Depp abused her and the marriage ended after fifteen months. While they were dating, Amber sent a s*xt to Depp, which was leaked. In the image, Heard appears naked behind a handwritten sign that reads, “Good afternoon, my beloved Tonto Man. This blonde Texan b*tch will eat you alive. I want. I need. Give me what’s mine.” Now that’s a proud Texan, right there. Seems like one of those ‘crazy in the bed, crazy in the head’ types, though.
12. Hilary Duff – Born in Houston, Texas
Hilary Duff was born in Houston, Texas and was raised between there and San Antonio. Hilary’s mom stayed at home while her father ran several convenience stores in the area. Hilary and her sister were active with dance, and the love of the stage soon transitioned into acting. Hilary left Texas and headed to LA, where she landed her career-budding role as Lizzie McGuire. Duff also began a music career and is even a published author. Duff’s love life has always been a tabloid topic ever since her love triangle with Aaron Carter and Lindsay Lohan. Duff was recently divorced and has a son. She has spoken openly about her failed marriage, admitting that being newly single “sucks.” Duff has a lot of people rooting for her to succeed, and she should bounce back onto the scene in no time. Her recent music videos for “All About You” and “Sparks” have fans drooling over the Texan blonde.
11. Beyoncé – Born in Houston, Texas
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter was born and raised in the Houston, Texas area. Most of those Destiny’s Child girls are Texans. Remember, there were like twenty of them at one point, and then they were whittled down to three—Queen B, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams. Williams was actually an Illinois girl who met the crew in Atlanta. Show business is a melting pot, really. People from all over the world flock everywhere chasing fame. Beyonce went solo in 2003 and never looked back. She’s had huge hits like “Irreplaceable” and then “Crazy in Love,” which featured her then future husband, Jay-Z. The rest is pretty much musical legend. She went on to do “Single Ladies,” which was huge. And her latest album, Lemonade, also went through the roof. No telling what this Texan girl will do next.
10. Ciara – Born in Austin
Ciara was born in Austin, Texas, but moved around quite a bit after that since her dad was a military man. She went to high school in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Ciara has never stayed long at the top of the charts, but she has managed to produce some hits along with many Grammy nominations and one win. She’s also written some songs that have had their share of success. Recently, Ciara made news when she married Seattle Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson. They had their first child together in October of 2016. She also has a son with the rapper, Future, with whom she was once engaged. Their engagement was broken off due to his cheating allegations. Just saying. If you’re worried about a spouse cheating, it may not have been wise to marry an NFL star. No offense, Russ, but most professional athletes are players in more ways than one.
9. Shannon Elizabeth – Born in Houston, Texas
Sorry to ruin your fantasy, but Nadia is not a Czechoslovakian foreign exchange student who likes to show off her wonderful knockers. She’s actually an actress named Shannon Elizabeth, who was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Bellmead, Texas. Shannon was almost a pro tennis star, but turned to modeling instead. She then had a brief but memorable career in acting. She came into the public eye again a few years ago, when she competed on Dancing with the Stars. She even dated her partner, Derek Hough, for a while afterwards. Currently, Shannon is dating Russell Simmons. Yes, that Russell Simmons. The super rich old dude who designs clothes and founded DefJam Records way back in 1983. What could they possibly have in common? Well, they’re both vegan, which is such an awful hassle that it surely bonded them instantly.
8. Jenna Dewan – Born On The East Coast, But Moved To Grapevine, Texas
Jenna Dewan-Tatum was born on the east coast, then moved and attended high school in Grapevine, Texas. It’s funny how much people identify with their high school. Those are such formative years. If you move around a lot during your life, you usually refer to your high school town as the place you “grew up” in. Jenna was a cheerleader at Grapevine High, where she was also very interested in dance. The actress and model is currently the host of the TV show World of Dance. Her role is the backstage hype person, kind of like what Ryan Seacrest did for years on American Idol. The show also stars Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo, and Derek Hough as judges. Jenna has served as the face of Danskin dancewear and has also modeled for PETA. Jenna is a vegan, just one reason how she has managed to maintain her svelte figure.
7. Jessica Simpson – Born in Abilene, Texas
“Is Chicken of the Sea chicken or fish?” or something like that. Apparently, they don’t eat much canned meat in Texas. Jessica Simpson was born in Abilene, Texas and grew up in Dallas. The lifelong Cowboys fan even dated quarterback Tony Romo for a year or two. Some sports fans think that she cursed him, since his stats went way down during their courtship. But that was a while ago, and Jessica moved on, got married, and had kids. But even after kids, Jessica is looking better than ever. She’s been posting some pics on social media that are very nice, and the paps have snapped some good ones too. She hasn’t been doing much singing or acting. But, why bother? She was never really that good at either of the two, and her fashion biz has made her hundreds of millions of dollars already.
6. Eva Longoria – Born Corpus Christi, Texas
Eva Longoria was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. In true Texas fashion, she worked at a fast food restaurant (Wendy’s) for three years during high school. For college, she went to the Texas A&M satellite school, and won first place in the Corpus Christi Beauty Pageant. That was about the time that she was bit by the show business bug and moved to LA. In the meantime, she continued her education and got a Master’s degree in Chicano Studies at Cal State. Growing up the youngest of four sisters sparked this woman’s competitive nature, and there’s not much that she can’t do. She’s even known as a great cook, saying that lemon, not lime, is the best citrus fruit to use in guacamole. Lately, Eva’s show, Telenovela, was cancelled, but she’s already moved on to star in the upcoming remake of the 1980’s comedy Overboard.
5. LeAnn Rimes – Born in Jackson, Mississippi, But Moved to Garland, Texas
You can’t have a list about Texas without including some country music. LeAnn Rimes-Cibrian was born in Jackson, Mississippi, but moved to Garland, Texas when she was six years old. She got her big break on Star Search, as well as a local show called Johnnie High’s Country Music Revue based in Arlington, Texas. LeAnn went on to become one of the youngest country stars ever, when she hit number one with the song “Blue.” Remember that song? It goes, “BluuuUuUuuUUuue.” That helps, right? She was 13 when she got famous, and like most child stars, a part of her young soul was jaded. LeAnn grew up to be a smoking hot, s*x-crazed homewrecker. Seven years ago, LeAnn stole married actor Eddie Cibrian from his then wife, model Brandi Glanville, and the two women have been feuding online ever since. Come on ladies. Is Eddie that big of a deal?
4. Renée Zellweger – Born And Raised in Katy, Texas
“I get older and they stay the same age.” That’s the famous line another famous Texan, Matthew McConaughey, says in Dazed and Confused. The movie trivia part is that he says it right after a young hot Renée Zellweger walks by. Zellweger was born and raised in Katy, Texas. She went to high school there, was a star student, and used to be a member of the drama club. She then attended college at University of Texas, Austin and was an English major. When her dad lost his job during her junior year, Zellweger had to earn some cash. She began waiting tables and auditioning. One of her first big gigs was a Coors Light commercial. Of course, she eventually moved on to Hollywood and the rest is history. Ironically, the most famous role for this Texan uses a British accent as Bridget Jones.
3. Leighton Meester – Born in Fort Worth, Texas
Leighton Meester was born in Fort Worth, Texas. The interesting part is, she was born in prison. At the time, her mom was serving a sentence for drug trafficking. So the child was born in a halfway house and given to grandma. Then, mom went back to jail to complete the sentence. The thing that we really like about movie stars, or any celebrity, is that they got rich, and they were just normal people. In Meester’s case, she was way harder off than many of us could ever imagine. But somehow, she made the dream happen. After leaving Texas, Meester lived in NYC and LA, started with auditions for pimple commercials, and eventually landed her defining role as Blair on Gossip Girl.
2. Jennifer Love Hewitt – Born in Waco, Texas
Jennifer Love Hewitt was born in Waco, Texas and then grew up in Nolanville, Texas. Of course, by grew up, we mean her early childhood because she won “Little Miss Talent” of Texas at age ten and then, moved to Hollywood. Jennifer’s first gig was on Disney’s Kids Incorporated in 1989. Back then, she went by Love Hewitt, but ended up adding the Jennifer before she made it big on Party of Five. Ever since then, Jennifer has remained somewhere in the public eye. I know What You Did Last Summer was a huge hit. More recently, she starred in the Ghost Whisperer, on a set that she claimed was truly haunted. Lately, the actress and singer has been taking time off to raise a family.
1. Jennifer Garner – Born in Houston, Texas
Jennifer Garner was born in Houston, Texas. Soon after, the family moved to West Virginia. Garner was recently on the cover of People magazine, with the headline “Life After Heartbreak.” In the feature article, a Jen insider says that she’s “doing okay” and that “this has really been the most difficult decision for her. But it’s time to focus on the future.” Seems kind of funny that People put her on the cover, yet they managed to get zero direct quotes from her. They also never named the “insider.” What kind of journalism is that, exactly? Well, there are rumors out there that Jen is a bit of a jerk. Maybe she promised an interview and flaked. You never know. Lately, the actress appeared in Wakefield with Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston. She also has a couple voice projects coming out. The woman is trying, but it may be impossible to return to her Alias level of fame.
