First, there was The Mickey Mouse Club, a short-lived television show with a host of Mouseketeers. Then Disney had the fantastic brainwave of bringing it back, in the form of The All-New Mickey Mouse Club. They gathered together talented young teens and children who could act, sing, and dance. With most of them only appearing in a few episodes each, it was not long before they had amassed quite a cast list. It ran from 1989 to 1994, so it was 23 years ago that the last episode aired.
With this in mind, you can calculate easily that the young stars will have been reaching the prime of their lives within the last 10 years, and plenty of those talented youngsters turned into equally talented adults. Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling both appeared on the show at one time or another, and their appearances have since become very popular viewing material in light of the celebrities that they grew up to be.
With so much talent appearing at such a young age, it’s really no wonder that we ended up with quite a few of the cast going on to star in films, television shows, and sing on a worldwide stage. Not all of them were as blessed with looks as they were with talent, but a good portion of the bunch definitely were. Here are the top 15 hottest ladies to come out of the Mickey Mouse Club– these Mouseketeers are the kind that you would want for a playmate any day of the week.
15. Keri Russell
This one may be a little slower to recognize, but she’s definitely a stone cold fox. After winning a Golden Globe Award for her lead role in Felicity, Keri has gone on to star in a range of blockbuster movies, including Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Mission Impossible III, and Waitress. She also appeared in a number of other long-running TV shows both as a main star and as a guest. She got in as a Mouseketeer thanks to her dancing skills, and is still known as a dancer, though it is her acting that really turned into a career. She has three children, the latest born in 2016 with her co-star Matthew Rhys, and has been married once but is now divorced. She is recognizable for her delicate bone structure, which gives her a rather dainty look. In case you were wondering, she is not related to any other famous Russells.
14. Christina Aguilera
Here’s another star who really needs no introduction. Along with Britney, Christina Aguilera has gone on to be one of the most successful and recognized stars from the Club. She became a hugely famous and popular solo singer after her breakout hit Genie in a Bottle. Since then she has also been through some ups and downs, including a career lapse and some weight gain, but she can still make headlines from time to time. Her past looks are so iconic that Kylie Jenner even dressed up as her former “Xtina” character for Halloween last year. When you’ve reached a level that teen stars are using you as a pop icon reference that everyone will understand, you know that you have seriously made it. The sweet Genie singer definitely undertook a major transformation to become Xtina, and these days she has transformed again to a more retro look with platinum blonde curls and 30s or 40s style clothing.
13. Jodie Sweetin
Stephanie Tanner was played by Jodie Sweetin, and she has also reprised that role in the new spin-off series. Interestingly enough she was an adopted child, so given how her life and career has turned out, her real parents (who were both in prison when she was born) are probably kicking themselves for not stepping up to the mark. She actually started out acting at the age of 5 in Valerie, and joined the Full House cast later the same year. She has 2 children and has been married a rather alarming 4 times, with the longest of the marriages lasting for just 4 years. She has appeared in a few minor indie films and TV episodes, and also took part in Dancing with the Stars in 2016.
12. Christina Milian (almost)
This one is the one that got away, and it just goes to show how keen-eyed those Disney talent scouts were. Christina Milian was actually invited to be a Mouseketeer after she moved to Los Angeles. Instead, she had her sights set on something else. She turned them down and took a role as a host for the Disney Channel instead, starring on Movie Surfers. She was just 13 when her mother realized her talent and took her to LA, and after 6 months she ended up living in the same apartment complex as a producer who started working with her on music. By 2002, she had a hit song with “AM to PM” and was firmly on the music industry’s radar. Her first lead acting role was in Love Don’t Cost a Thing, and since then she has continued to work on both her acting and singing career simultaneously.
11. Candace Cameron Bure
You may recognize Candace from her roll on Full House (and, more recently, Fuller House). That’s actually the reason that she became part of the Club– she and the other cast members from the show appeared as their characters, rather than as themselves as the other members did. Candace played the role of D.J. Tanner, and has also been spotted in recent years on Dancing With The Stars as well as hosting The View. Her brother, Kirk Cameron, is also an actor. She has three children with Valeri Bure, a Russian NHL player. It turns out that her children have inherited that talent gene too, as her eldest daughter Natasha took part in The Voice as one of the singing contestants, although she didn’t make it through to the final. Cameron is a proud survivor of bulimia, which she suffered with during her early 20s. The pressures of fame from a young age can often have a negative effect on body image.
Tiffany’s surname is Darwish, not that she was ever known by it. The one-named singer had a hit single with ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’, which became a bit of a teen anthem in 1987. Unsurprisingly, that was the same year that she was a guest of the Mouseketeers on the Club. She found some commercial success with her album and the following collection of music that she put out, but since then has mostly faded away from major commercial music. She admits to being a bit of a rebel when growing up, as she was raised by strict Christian parents and wanted to break out of their restrictive lifestyle. She has also appeared in a number of other television shows and films, including Celebrity Fit Club and Necrosis. She’s certainly not as famous or serious an actress as most of the other ladies on this list, though she has tried!
9. Mylin Brooks
Here’s another Mouseketeer who actually has Filipino heritage! Mylin Brooks was born in the Philippines before moving to Oklahoma as a child. She started her career on The All New Mickey Mouse Club before moving on to Sister Sister and Starship Troopers as a background character. She also starred on E! True Hollywood Story, although beyond that, she hasn’t done much more acting. She is now married to Zane Stoddard. She did have another footnote to her fame in her youth, however. She actually released an album in Japan in 1997, and then another in the US in 2006. It was called American Girl. Other than that, there’s not much to say about her, but she certainly grew up with great genes. While she doesn’t seem to be doing anything new these days, she did have a little success and no doubt has great memories of her time as a child star.
8. Tracie Spencer
Tracie Spencer was born in Iowa, and she’s got a little something of the hottie about her! She wasn’t really involved in acting but instead appeared on the Club for her capacity as a singer. She was known for pop and R&B style music, particularly with singles in the late 1980s and early 1990s. These included ‘Symptoms of True Love’ and ‘Tender Kisses’. She ended up taking a hiatus from her career to focus on modelling, which is always a great sign for a beautiful woman. Some of her achievements included becoming the youngest female artist to sign a record deal with a major record deal at the time. She was also awarded the Martin Luther King Christian Leadership Award for her work as a positive role model and ‘Stay in School’ program leader. She’s also performed backing vocals for rappers such as Kanye West, 50 Cent, and Eve.
7. Britney Spears
Does anything really need to be said about Britney? She is perhaps the most famous former Mouseketeer, not least in the sense that everyone remembers that’s where she originated. That was where she met fellow Mouseketeer Justin Timberlake, and laid the foundations of a power couple that would shock the world with a very public break-up and a downward spiral for Britney herself. But she has bounced back more times than we can count, and still has the ability to make us all drop what we’re doing to watch her perform. From the first moment that she captivated us with her breakout single …Baby One More Time, she has been one of the hottest properties in showbiz. And we mean that in more than one sense of the word. She’s now flaunting her body in ever-skimpier costumes on the stages of Vegas, not to mention various awards shows around the world.
6. Lindsay Alley
You will definitely know Lindsay if you ever watched MMC when it was on, because she was a Mouseketeer for the whole duration of the program, from 1989 to 1994. She was 12 when it first kicked off and was a teen when it all ended, concentrating on finishing high school and then getting a degree from the University of Missouri before returning to acting. She had a short-lived role on WSL RollerJam and put on her own one-woman play, before receiving awards for her theatre work elsewhere. She even popped up on one episode of How I Met Your Mother. She was born in Florida but now lives in Los Angeles, having relocated there from New York in recent years. She also still sings, having appeared in a number of musicals. She is certainly still going strong and looks set to be making a storm on theatre stages for many years to come.
5. Nikki Deloach
This actress and singer from Georgia started out as a pageant girl. Nikki won numerous state and national pageant titles before securing a modelling agent and going on to print advertising. She then joined the MMC team in 1993. She actually ended up dating JC Chasez for a while, even after he joined *NSYNC, and she is thanked in their first album liner notes under her nickname Peaches. In 1998 she joined girl group Innosense and even toured with her boyfriend, although the relationship didn’t last– and neither did the band, breaking up in 2003. She then decided to pursue acting, and after roles in a number of television shows, is currently on MTV’s Awkward. She is married to Ryan Goodell from boyband Take 5, and they have a son together who was born in 2013. Her latest work includes producer credits on an up and coming indie movie.
4. Annette Funicello
This one is a bit of a blast from the past. Annette Funicello is not one of the Mouseketeers that you would have seen on screen alongside Britney and Christina, but rather was actually in the original Mickey Mouse Club back in the 1950s. When she grew up, she was a stunning woman, and had plenty of film and television roles for the rest of her career. She sadly passed away in 2013 from multiple sclerosis and complications, but transitioned into singing as a teenager and kept this up alongside her acting. She was part of the ‘Beach Party’ movement with Frankie Avalon, her co-star. She was married twice and left 3 children. She also had other ventures, such as a line of teddy bears for children and perfumes, and was acting right up until 1995 when she appeared in a TV adaptation of her own autobiography. She had quite the storied career!
3. Rhona Bennett
Here’s another alumni of the MMC who managed to keep her career going after the show finished! She was 15 when she joined the cast in 1991, and since then has gained the nickname of Miss R&B. She’s a singer, actress, and model, and you might know her for her role as Nicole on The Jamie Foxx Show. She was also part of the R&B group En Vogue from 2003 to 2008, but then left to pursue a solo career. She has then flitted in and out of the group as she was needed to fill gaps, as well as releasing her own album titled Rhona in 2001. She is also involved in voice over work as well as professional theatre and other TV shows. She has been pretty busy since hanging up her mouse ears, so good on her! In case you were wondering whether she went to college, she was a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.
2. Tasha Danner
Indiana native Tasha was cast on the All-New Mickey Mouse Club when she was just 13 years old, after being spotted for her singing, acting, and dancing. She remains active in the Pacific Northwest area today, and has taken party in plenty of theatre projects. She also stars in commercials and independent films, not to mention a few episodes of Portlandia. She does sketch comedy and even writes her own material for musicals. She married Neal Hevel in 2016 and also works as a yoga instructor while singing in a kirtan band and playing guitar. She currently lives in Oregon but also spent some time abroad in both Europe and Australia. It seems like her life has been pretty busy and packed with fun, even if we haven’t seen her name up on the big screen as many times as some of the others on this list. She’s got a real girl-next-door charm, too.
1. Deedee Magno
You probably don’t know much about Deedee Magno, but a portion of our readers are no doubt about to get very excited when they realize that she is one of the voice actors for Steven Universe. She plays Pearl, so now you know. She of course started out as a member of the Club, but has since gone on to use her voice in a variety of roles. She was part of the first national tour of the musical Wicked, and also took a role of Kim in the Broadway show Miss Saigon. She is of Filipino descent and has two children with fellow actor Cliffton Hall. If you are wondering if you might have seen her somewhere else, she was also a singer in The Party, a pop group formed from Club members which reunited in 2013. They haven’t exactly seen much in the way of success just yet, but at least Deedee has steady work with the voice acting.
