Turns out that “‘til death do us part” can mean several different things. Some couples will stay together for the rest of their lives and eternity. Many couples stay married only for a few months or even shorter. Some marriages aren’t meant to last while others are still going strong. Hollywood marriages are often the center of attention for fans and the media. They command the headlines regardless of what world event is occurring.

Celebrity marriages are usually very short but there are the few that have surprised us. Several have lasted many years and almost made it. Many famous couples seemed so perfect for each other that it seemed like it would be forever. Some even came close but didn’t work out in the end. There are a few celebrity couples that so far have lasted for quite a while. On the other hand, there are several couples that fulfill the stereotype of the short-lived Hollywood marriage. Some eloped or had an extravagant wedding but they all ended the same and in record time. In some cases, it seems like they were trying to break the record for shortest marriage, and a few came close. A few celebrity couples have shocked the world by outlasting every other couple. Then, there are the couples that couldn’t even make it a year. Here is a look at the 7 Longest Celebrity Marriages and 8 Shortest.

Tom Green & Drew Barrymore (Shortest)

Tom Green and Drew Barrymore met and instantly fell in love. However, as quickly as they fell in love, they fell out of love even faster. Comedian Tom Green and actress Drew Barrymore seemed like an odd pairing. But looking deeper, they actually made a perfect couple. During that time, they appeared in Charlie’s Angels and Freddy Got Fingered together. They eloped in 2001 but were only married from July 7, 2001 to October 15, 2002. 5 months after getting married, Green filed for divorce in December of 2001. Their marriage lasted a total of 163 days. Since the divorce, they’ve had zero contact but Barrymore often speaks positively about him. Green has had nothing but kind words as well. During an interview with Oprah Winfrey, he said, “I haven’t talked to her in many, many years. I’m glad she’s doing great. I’m really happy that she’s doing good.”

Jerry & Jessica Seinfeld (Longest)

In June of 1998, Jessica Sklar married Eric Nederlander after dating for nearly 5 years. Months before her wedding, she met comedian Jerry Seinfeld and there was clearly an attraction. Jessica divorced Nederlander four months after getting married, although she notes that Jerry had nothing to do with the breakup. She said, “Jerry was neither the cause nor the effect of the breakup, but his friendship gave me strength and resilience at a time of desperate need.” They started spending a lot of time together and eventually married in December of 1999. They have been together for nearly 20 years and have three kids together. Despite Jessica’s first marriage being very short, her second to Jerry might just last forever. According to Jessica, the family has a very strong bond that is based around her amazing ability to cook. She said, “Chicken parmesan. It’s why Jerry wanted to marry me. It remains the glue of our family.”

The teen drama One Tree Hill revolved around basketball, love, and heartbreak. Turns out, the cast often experienced that as well…except for the basketball part. Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush met on set and fell in love quickly. They married in April of 2005, fulfilling the dreams of thousands of teen fans all over the world. However, the marriage only lasted 5 months with Bush filing for an annulment. The annulment was denied, and the divorce was finalized in December of 2006. Bush wanted to avoid a divorce, as she only wanted to be married once but that’s not how it turned out for her. In 2014, she said about the short marriage, “We were two stupid kids who had no business being in a relationship in the first place. To all the other costars who’ve worked it out, more power to you.” The marriage lasted 163 days.

Bradley Cooper & Jennifer Esposito (Shortest)

Some relationships aren’t meant to last, and it’s probably better to figure that out at the start rather than the end. That’s what ended up happening to Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Esposito. Cooper and Esposito became engaged in October of 2006 and wasted no time in getting married. They married two months later in December. But like many Hollywood marriages, it came to a quick end. It’s never a good idea to rush to the altar because they often rush out. Everything appeared to be great but the marriage lasted only a few months. In May of 2007, Esposito filed for divorce after 122 days of marriage. Cooper once said, “The good thing is, we both realized it ... Sometimes you just realize it.” In this case, they both realized that getting married was a mistake. They mutually agreed to end the relationship and proceed with the divorce.

Hugh Jackman & Deborra-Lee Furness (Longest)

The 1995 Australian TV series, Correlli, starred actress Deborra-Lee Furness as a prison psychologist. Deborra was a star in her native homeland, and just about every person had a crush on her. One of them was an unknown actor by the name of Hugh Jackman. In fact, he once said, “She was the star and I had this major crush on her.” Hugh was cast in the series but was so shy and speechless around her. He threw a dinner party and invited the whole cast and crew. She confronted him on why he wasn’t really talking to her. He finally told her, “I said ‘oh look, I’ve got a crush on you, I’ll get over it.’ And she went, ‘Oh really?’ and I was like, ‘Oh, this is bad.’ And she goes, ‘Yeah, I got one on you too.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh, great!’ So that was it.” They married in 1996 and have been together for over 20 years.

Pamela Anderson & Kid Rock (Shortest)

At first, it appeared that Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson would be a perfect match. She’s always had a thing for rock stars, and he’s always had a thing for her “assets.” However, the relationship ended up being very short-lived. Rock met Anderson in 2001 at an Aretha Franklin tribute show. They became engaged in 2002 but quickly called off the engagement. However, they managed to reconnect with each other and married in July of 2006. In November, Anderson reportedly suffered a miscarriage while shooting a film. Two weeks later, she filed for divorce only after a few months. The marriage lasted only 122 days and came to a spectacular end. They have since gone their separate ways and have had no contact with each other. During an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Kid Rock said, “If I saw her somewhere I’d say hi, but I try not to go in the same circles. Cage proposed to Presley, and they married 10 days later on August 10, 2002. 107 days later, Cage filed for divorce from Presley, which was finalized in 2004. It’s never a good sign when the divorce proceedings last much longer than the actual marriage. Both Cage and Presley have said very little about their short-lived marriage. To this day, Cage still refuses to discuss his time with Presley. He said, “I did not talk about the marriage and I am not going to talk about the divorce.”

Mario Lopez & Ali Landry (Shortest)

There are people who have had a carton of milk in their fridge longer than Mario Lopez and Ali Landry’s marriage. Actor Mario Lopez and model Ali Landry should have had the perfect marriage with the storybook ending. Unfortunately, that’s not how things worked out. They first met when Lopez served as the host of the 1998 Miss Teen USA pageant, and Landry served as commentator for the event. They dated for 6 years before getting married in 2006 in Mexico. However, the marriage crumbled after only a few weeks. Landry filed for an annulment after finding out that Lopez had cheated on her at his bachelor party. In 2011, all anyone could talk about was the wedding of reality TV star Kim Kardashian and NBA player Kris Humphries. It was a reality TV royal wedding that had everyone buzzing. However, the marriage was shorter than the name of the reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Kris and Kim started dating in 2010 and became engaged by April of 2011. They married that August in an extravagant and lavish wedding. Kim even released her very own fragrance in conjunction with the wedding, Kim Kardashian Love. Additionally, the preparations and wedding were aired as a special two-part TV event, which aired in early October. The special aired just before Kim filed for divorce after 72 days of marriage. Many assumed that the marriage was all just a publicity stunt. Kim defended herself by saying, “First and foremost, I married for love. I can’t believe I even have to defend this. I would not have spent so much time on something just for a TV show!”

Will Smith & Jada Pinkett-Smith (Longest)

In 1998, he was one of the most notorious celebs, and she was one of the hottest. The infamous couple made headlines when they eloped in November of 1998 in Las Vegas at the Little White Chapel. The walk to the chapel was longer than their marriage. 9 days after getting married, Rodman shockingly filed for an annulment because he was of “unsound mind.” In other words, they were pretty drunk at the time when they said their “I do’s.” They got back together by New Year’s but officially ended the relationship in April of 1999. When discussing the brief marriage, Electra said, “It happened so fast. It was so spontaneous, and I remember right after (thinking), ‘Oh God, what did we do?’”
