Throughout the years, the United States has placed a heavy importance on outer appearance.
In particular, Hollywood cares more about physical beauty, so celebrities’ characters are tossed aside. While men are pressured to build their bodies, grow (or shave) their beards, or enhance their packages, women are pressured to follow whatever is in vogue, whether it be a bigger pout, breasts, or butt.
Both men and women feel like they are required to be the societal standard of hot. However, people are so much more than their hair, eyes, and skin color. Who cares if women have blonde, brown, or black hair? Who cares if men are lean, toned, or big-boned? Instead of focusing on their looks, why not focus on what really matters: their hearts.
Obviously, their external beauty fades with time. When their hair turns gray, skin gets saggy, or eyes look baggy, men and women have to rely on their internal features. They are no longer deemed attractive, so they are judged by the “content of their character,” as Martin Luther King Jr. would say. He is absolutely correct. Vanity should go under the knife, not them. Men and women should be empowered by how they treat others, give back to their communities, and make a positive difference in the world. Unfortunately, external beauty has a tight grip on society, especially in Hollywood. While the below celebrities are physically attractive, their actions reveal their ugly looks.
15. Farrah Abraham
Farrah Abraham is a Teen Mom co-star, but she is also a businesswoman. From adult entertainment to frozen yogurt, the businesswoman has made a household name for herself. She is commercially successful, and she is very pretty, but actions speak louder than words… and appearances. The young mother has falsely accused men of sexual assault, which degrades the purported predators and survivors of sexual abuse. However, she is accustomed to demeaning others, even her own mother, Debra Danielsen. In 2015, an episode showed Farrah criticizing Debra’s competency. “I want my mom to listen to me, and I want her to understand and not be a b*tch to me when I say how I like things done. You’d better listen,” Farrah screamed at her mother, even though her own daughter, Sophia, was in the room. The entrepreneur is a brunette bombshell, but her attitude makes monsters look mellow. Hopefully, she grows up. Her daughter needs a mother, not a catty sister.
14. Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande is known for her hit singles such as: “Problem,” “The Way” and “Love Me Harder.” However, before the Billboard Hot 100, Teen Choice Awards and Grammy Awards, the pop princess played Cat Valentine, the cutesy yet ditzy character on Nickelodeon’s Victorious. From the beginning, she seemed like a woman too naiveté. Viewers just could not picture her cursing, in provocative clothing, or singing sexual innuendos. But she is Ariana, not Cat. While her sensual dances and suggestive lyrics are shocking, what is more shocking is her diva demands. “She did autographs and pics and was all smiles until she got into the elevator. And as soon as the doors shut she said, ‘I hope they all f—— die,'” an unnamed source relayed. Unlike Cat, Ariana is not in high school, but maybe she should invest in cotillion classes.
13. Vanessa Hudgens
Vanessa Hudgens is an underrated actress. She can sing and dance in tandem with powerful performances on-screen. However, rumors about her attitude play a much different show. Unlike her roles in Beastly, Thirteen, and High School Musical, the talented starlet is a good girl gone bad. While she and her current ex, Zac Efron, were an item, she admitted her jealousy transformed into rage. “I went through a phase when I was really mean because I was so fed up. Girls were running after him, and I was giving them death stares,” she admitted. Even though she knows of her mistakes, they give the actress an epiphany. She needs to treat everyone with respect and kindness, regardless of how she feels. “Spread the love, be a good person, they support you, be nice,” she stated. Stand up and curtsy, Vanessa. You deserve a round of applause.
12. Jessa Duggar
Jessa Duggar is a part of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s family, a couple who has nineteen, biological children together. Their program, Counting On, specifically focuses on the lives of the older daughters, and Jessa’s marriage and two sons are the focal points of the show. However, before her wedding, she lived at home with her parents and siblings. According to reports, she was known as a sober, serious sister with demands aplenty. “Jessa’s name struck fear in the hearts of the younger kids. Hearing their older sister’s name became a way to instill fear in the children to do what was expected of them, for they knew Jessa would make them toe the line when necessary,” an outlet wrote. Jessa is only living with three other people now, and two of them are her own children. She may still be strict, but with less people to oversee, she probably has a calmer demeanor, hopefully.
11. Blac Chyna
Blac Chyna, née Angela White, is a former stripper, Instagram model, and entrepreneur; however, her most important job is motherhood. Her newborn, Dream, is loved by her mom very much, but unfortunately, Blac is in a childish phase of her own. The hard-working woman was embroiled in a feud with her ex fiancé’s sister, Kylie Jenner. Last year, the two moguls fought for the affections of Blac’s firstborn, four-year-old King. “Blac Chyna doesn’t like Kylie Jenner trying to compete with her and outdo her when it comes to her children,” the source asserted. Hopefully, the pair are working on their differences. They have too much to accomplish, and if they start feuding again, they will stay stuck in the same spot. They are too grown for the petty drama, anyway; it is not a pretty look.
10. Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey is one of the wealthiest females in the music industry. Her smash hits like “Touch My Body” and “Obsessed” remain timeless classics. While she can boast of a beautiful voice, her artistry is just for show. According to a Daily Mail article, the doyenne makes no qualms about her coveted pedestal. “I have a rule I will not be seen in fluorescent lighting. My feet repel flats. I have anniversaries, not birthdays, because I celebrate life, darling,” the millionaire said. She may be the reigning queen of twenty-first century pop, but she still breathes the same air as the people around her. While her fans may be obsessed with her appearance and artistry, nobody is obsessed with her attitude.
9. Kourtney Kardashian
Kourtney Kardashian is a reality star best known for her role in Keeping Up with the Kardashians, as well as spin-off series such as: Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York and Dash Dolls. She has always been a stiff figure on camera, and apparently, her little half-sister, Kendall Jenner, confirms Kourtney’s behavior on-camera, too. “Kourtney could be like mean about things,” the model affirmed. Kourtney seems like she is under a tremendous amount of stress. She should escape the California weather, and go on a vacation with only her children. No boys (except for her sons, Mason and Reign) are allowed, including her toxic partner, Scott Disick. She needs to have fun, not drama.
8. Kate Gosselin
Kate Gosselin found the limelight with her 2005 reality show, Jon & Kate Plus 8. The mother is a parent to twins and sextuplets, and her former husband, Jon Gosselin, is a biological father to the boys and girls. With so many children, her life is hectic enough without cameras and crew in tow. In 2009, she found comfort in her divorce papers… and her drinks. “Kate is an unfit mother. People will be shocked to learn that the cruelty in the Gosselin house is still very much going on. Kate’s drinking is something the children are accustomed to. Kate once fell down the stairs while drunk in front of the children and the oldest girls helped her up and cleaned up the broken glass from her drink,” Robert Hoffman, author of Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World, stated. The author has accused the mother of “violent spankings,” and she is accused of alcoholism, too. Hopefully, the claims are not true. However, if they are, Kate needs serious, psychiatric help.
7. Alec Baldwin
Alec Baldwin is a legendary, American actor. Lately, he forgoes the movies, and instead, he frequents SNL as President Donald Trump. He is handsome, charismatic and comical. However, he has anger issues. A phone conversation he had with his adolescent daughter, Ireland, was disturbing. “You are a rude, thoughtless little pig. You don’t have the brains or the decency as a human being. I don’t give a damn that you’re a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn’t care about what you do as far as I’m concerned. Once again I have made an ass of myself trying to get to a phone. You have humiliated me for the last time with this phone,” he screamed at his child. Alec needs anger management classes at the very least. Nobody deserves to be yelled, screamed, and cursed at by him, but especially not his daughter. Hopefully, he and Ireland have received counseling, so they can mend their relationship.
6. Jared Leto
Jared Leto is like a jack of all trades, or is he a joker of all trades? The Thirty Seconds to Mars bandmate played The Joker in the blockbuster, Suicide Squad. The villain was just a character, but Jared was accused of taking his acting into his reality. Actress Ariane Bellamar accused the millionaire of sexually harassing her in between takes. “Bellamar said that in June 2015, Leto rubbed his crotch beneath his pants and growled at her while filming a scene at a Toronto nightclub. ‘He wasn’t hiding it or anything. He did it every time he walked past me,'” she told the media. There is hearsay stating that Ariane just wants publicity for her show, The Real Housewives of Toronto. She may want press coverage for her reality series, but not at the expense of her own safety and well-being. Jared wins my respect with his powerhouse performance in the movie, but he loses my respect with Ariane’s accusation.
5. Casey Affleck
Casey Affleck’s role in Manchester by the Sea won him an Oscar, which was his first win at the Academy Awards. He is a phenomenal actor, but he may ruin his career because he cannot keep his hands to himself. His two, female co-workers on a 2010 film set sued him for sexual misconduct. He drunkenly violated their personal spaces, and unfortunately, Hollywood could care less. “People love him in Manchester and he might win some stuff. People really do like him, no one wants him to be an abuser or anything like it,” said a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The unnamed individual is right; nobody wants to believe Casey is a victimizer. By the Academy pairing him with Brie Larson, the star in Room, a movie about a survivor of sexual abuse, Hollywood showed how much it cares about Casey’s charges.
4. Danny Glover
Danny Glover is known for his part in movies like Predator 2, the Lethal Weapon series, and The Color Purple. He is also known for his temper. At sixty-years-old, he punched a photographer, Gary He, in court. According to the victim, the actor yelled, “What gives you the right to come out here and photograph me and have your camera up in my face?” The actor may be frazzled because of his appointment with Lester and Lennox, but his nerves are no excuse for poor behavior. The actor has not aged well.
3. Shia LaBeouf
Shia LaBeouf will always be Stanley from the movie, Holes. However, the actor is far from cute now. In the past few years, the star has gotten into fights galore. Before he checked himself into rehab in July 2014, the man was caught trying to brawl either homeless men or strip club clients. “LaBeouf chases a homeless man, demanding he hand over his McDonald’s. A video of the incident was later released. TMZ also releases a video of LaBeouf trying to start another fight outside an LA strip club, jumping up and down, attempting to goad one of the club’s patrons into throwing a punch,” the article read. While Shia’s erratic behavior may be because he is either drunk or high, he has still caused a panic among other civilians. The man may be handsome and wealthy, but he is dealing with demons. Hopefully, rehab has helped him, so he can live his life to the fullest.
2. Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber is still the heartthrob of the decade, but he is not the boy next door teens so badly want him to be. He has a seedy past even his fans would be scared of. For example, the bad boy is rumored to spit on his neighbor’s face while yelling, “Get the f— out of here. I’m going to f—— kill you!” Apparently, the gentleman told the star to drive slower in their gated community, and the Canadian singer was offended by his neighbor’s order. Everybody has bad days, but Justin seems to have a lot of bad days.
1. Russell Crowe
Russell Crowe may be the hunky actor with the sexy accent, but he has a mean streak. The actor has no problem cursing people out, whether they are BBC executives or star-struck fans. He is an aggressive man with unpredictable patterns of behavior, but even before his fame, he was cited as a Hollywood bully. According to Daily Mail, Russell abused his co-star in 1988. “When Crowe was starring in the musical Blood Brothers in Sydney, he fell out with costar Peter Cousens who alleged Crowe had tried to punch him in the dressing room,” the article read. A list of Russell’s offenses range from insults to assaults, so who knows what he is capable of! Russell may be an actor, but he is a bully too dangerous for the people around him. Unless he gets voluntary treatment, he may never change.
