They say that children pay for the sins of their fathers (or rather, parents). True, in a way. But with some celebrity kids (read brats), however grown up, it’s the parents who have to pay the price for their children’s sins – mostly via court fees, fines, penalties, settlements and bad press!

These celebrity brats have picked where their parents left off, and sometimes even setting good examples hasn’t been enough. These wild children don’t just prank and indulge in rough fun, they have actually ended up hurting themselves or others with their uncontrolled behavior. So here’s a list of 15 celebrity children who might just turn out (and some already have) to be far worse than their parents. And remember, while we still call them celebrity "kids," they are all grown up and made to face the reality of what they do by law enforcement as well as the judiciary. For them, the jury is no longer out!

15. Jon Bon Jovi’s Nightmare: His Daughter’s Overdose

Other than his amazing voice and adorable looks, Job Bon Jovi has a lot to be thankful for – his wife of 21 years and their beautiful four children. And while his has been a clean act (other than perhaps his explosive relationship with actress Diane Lane before he met his wife Dorothea) – his daughter veered off this clean track.

In 2012, Stephanie had a near-death encounter with drugs, when she overdosed on heroin in her college dorm. Authorities were called in November 2012 to 19-year-old Stephanie’s dorm at her university, Hamilton College, and found her unconscious there. A small amount of heroin was found in her room at the $55,000-a-year arts institute in Kirkland, New York. She later recovered in the hospital and luckily she and her companion escaped any drug charges as the local law in New York prohibited the prosecution of anyone who OD’ed. The lucky girl went on to rehab and has made a full recovery, thanks to the rock-solid support of her parents.

14. Houston, We Have A Problem... With Bobbi

Whitney Elizabeth Houston – one of the greatest singers of her time – and one of the most awarded female acts ever. The only artist to chart seven consecutive No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 slots, sadly, her end was in ignominy. She was found unconscious and unresponsive in her hotel room bathtub on February 11, 2012 – the coroner later ruled this as an accidental drowning with heart disease and cocaine use as contributing factors. It was a sad end to the singer who was called The Voice, she was just 48.

While she began her career with a good girl image, her marriage to R&B singer Bobby Brown became a turning point and marijuana, laced with cocaine, became a staple for the husband and wife. To put it bluntly, they were hardly role models for their only child, daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. Throughout her life, Bobbi Kristina was in and out of the media spotlight for her drug use and problems, and for her “incestuous” relationship with Nick Gordon. She too was found unresponsive in a bathtub in January 2015 – and finally died in hospice care on July 26, 2015. She was only 22.

13. Caged Up No Longer, Says Nicolas’s Son Weston

Cut to one of Hollywood’s most benevolent stars, Nicolas Cage, who has donated two million to Amnesty International alone. No stranger to wild behavior or scandals himself; Cage was arrested in 2011 when he manhandled his third wife Alice Kim and then went on to dare the police to arrest him. They did. However, Alice refused to press charges and that was that – till in 2016 Nic found out that his wife had been cheating on him and so rang in his third divorce.

His son, actor and musician, Weston Coppola Cage (with first ex-wife Christina Fulton), born on Dec 26, 1990 was another story altogether. Married to singer/songwriter Nikki Williams, Weston was arrested along with Nikki on charges of domestic violence against each other in 2011. After having been married in April 2011, the couple went on to file for divorce in October the same year. Before the divorce, in a bizarre incident, Weston was beaten, badly, by his own personal trainer after having an altercation with him over what Weston could have for lunch. After many ups and downs with booze – Weston finally found love and sobriety with Danielle in 2013 and believes that his newborn son is what keeps him from alcoholism.

12. They Tried To Make Me Go To Rehab: The Willis Sisters

Okay then, Bruce Willis sure has a surfeit of daughters, but we are here to talk about his grown-up ones with Demi Moore. Rumer (born August 16, 1988), Scout (born July 20, 1991) and Tallulah (born February 3, 1994) are three wild girls that the Die Hard star Bruce Willis and the Striptease star Demi Moore managed to produce – and they have been tabloid fodder ever since their teens. From hair color to body piercing, topless protests to shaved heads, public statements to rehab – the trio has done it all and is still continuing to do so. With Rumer waiving off any and all competition in Dancing With The Stars and basically saying that she didn’t have any because she was far better than the others; to Scout posting topless protest pictures of herself against the Instagram no-boob show policy… and finally to Tallulah having to check into rehab for an eating disorder – it’s safe to say that when you have an ageless mother like Demi to contend with, you cannot ever be normal. Ever.

11. Jordan Junior’s Peck-Pic: Michael Speechless For Once

So we all know and revere Michael Jordan for his awesome sportsman skills and being the greatest of the greats of NBA. Apparently, he also has an ego to match, which was pretty clear in the Hall Of Fame acceptance speech – where you are supposed to politely thank everyone – Michal Jordan instead lambasted mostly everyone in his life, including his kids.

However, with kids like Marcus, our sympathies tend to lie with Jordan Sr. (the cringe worthy role in Space Jam notwithstanding). Born December 24th, 1990 – Marcus Jordan played college basketball in Florida at the University of Central Florida (UCF) and while he was a star player, he also caused UCF to lose Adidas’s sponsorship by insisting on wearing the Nike Air Jordan shoes on the field.

His can’t-stop-tweeting-about-everything attitude is what gets him trolled every time; from tweet-propositioning a porn star, to boasting about his Vegas binges to finally a dick pick – Marcus puts his foot in his mouth every time he tweets. So maybe he should take a sabbatical form social media…

10. Godfather’s Not-So-Good Children: The Brando Tragedy

Marlon Brando was no saint – more of a sinner in fact, with his weight clearly hinting towards his hedonistic food choices. He had a massive ego and in his career it was either his way, or no way!

That said; he fathered two troubled children – daughter Cheyenne and son Christian Brando (from different wives). Cheyenne was a troubled young woman with a tumultuous drug past and a modeling career destroyed by an accident. She was in a relationship with 23-year-old Dag Drollet and was eight months pregnant; when she told her half-brother Christian that Dag was abusing her. In an alcoholic haze, Christian shot Dag dead and was later tried and sentenced for manslaughter. After being in prison for five years, from 1991 to 1996, Christian was then also hinted to be involved in the murder of Bonnie Lee Blakely, Robert Blake’s murdered wife. Nothing was ever proved. In 2005 Christian pled no contest to spousal abuse of his then wife Deborah and was given probation. In 2008, aged 49, Christian passed away of pneumonia.

Cheyenne too had a bitter end way back in 1995 – after being diagnosed with schizophrenia, losing custody of her son to her mother and repeated suicide attempts – she hanged herself in her mother’s house. A sad legacy, to a great star.

9. Lawrence Fishburne’s Skeleton In The Closet: His X-Rated Daughter

Lawrence Fishburne is pretty well-known actor, and everyone who’s seen The Matrix is quite a fan. One of the Hollywood non-scandalous celebrities, Lawrence Fishburne was nonetheless dragged into a major sex scandal when his barely legal daughter decided to enter the adult industry in 2010. While Larry and his friends tried their best to stop the DVD from hitting the stores, including legal steps as well as bulk buying all the DVDS they could find – it was too little, too late. Montana Fishburne debuted in the industry with her DVD Montana Fishburne: An A-List Daughter Makes Her XXX Debut, on August 10, 2010.

Apparently inspired by Kim K’s sex tape that made her a star, Montana ended up getting a raw deal. Her hurt father finally severed all ties with her and other than the alleged $60,000 she received from Vivid (the production house), she saw not a penny more, and no success came her way either. Too much, too soon…

8. A Heavyweight’s Son With An Addiction To Speed

Nick Allan Bollea aka Nick Hogan is the little known son of the well-known Hulk Hogan, best known perhaps for his need for speed.

He earned a Formula D competition license in 2006 from Formula Drift, then the only professional drifting series in North America, and participated in many of their events. His celebrity status and enthusiasm for the sport attracted many sponsors like Dodge but his irresponsible driving on roads ended the agreement pretty fast.

Nick was involved in plenty of road safety incidents before the crash that cost one of his pit crew very heavily. In 2006 the Lamborghini he was driving caught fire but it was deemed normal. In 2006 and 2007 he was also caught speeding on various occasions and ticketed for the same. He didn’t seem to hold the law in any respect and finally in 2007, just two weeks after his fourth speeding ticket, he was involved in a serious accident. Nick had been driving a yellow Toyota Supra that fishtailed and crashed into a palm tree. While Nick escaped unharmed, his co-passenger 22-year-old John Graziano (not wearing a seatbelt) received serious and irreversible brain injuries. For his love for speed, Nick was charged with several violations including a felony and sentenced to eight months in jail, five years of probation, 500 hours of community service and a license suspension of three years.

7. The Struggling Son Of A Designer Dad: The Hilfiger Files

What’s common between “struggling” rapper Rick Hil and established designer and celebrity Tommy Hilfiger? Blood, that’s what. Rick Hill is Richard Hilfiger, the son of this celebrity designer. And while there have been rumors of Tommy being a racist, they are untrue and have been proven so by much of the media in the past.

That said; son Rick Hil’s misdoings are not a rumor. While he dated Rita Ora for a while, Rick Hil came into the spotlight when he got into a physical altercation with a bouncer at a club who wasn’t letting him and a friend in due to a dress code issue. When he was arrested, he was also in possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana. He bailed himself out soon after and then went on to release a song Superman on Soundcloud, in which he critiqued his ex’s bedroom skills! Struggling rapper, with a silver spoon…

6. Downey, But Not Out: That’s Indio

Robert Downey Junior is no stranger to problems and troubles brought about by drugs and alcoholism. In 1999, he was even sentenced to prison on possession charges. Despite his struggles, Downey managed to get his act together and after the success of Iron Man, Avengers and Sherlock Holmes, he’s quite the Hollywood and media darling.

Enter his son, Indio Downey, who was caught and charged with a felony count of possession of a controlled substance in 2014. A gallant father, Robert Downey admitted that it was perhaps his drug-related genes passed down to Indio that got his son in trouble. Supported by his family, Indio went into rehab and earlier this year; his good behavior and willingness to seek help, got those charges dismissed. Downey Jr. went on social media to congratulate his now-sober son and admitted that his son’s eventual victory over addiction has made him very proud. Indio’s mother is singer Deborah Falconer and he too has a band called The Dose which Robert subtly promotes.

5. Jack, Out Of The Box: The Chans

Jackie Chan is quite in the news nowadays – with his recently awarded lifetime achievement Academy award, he’s in a good place indeed. But in 2015, Jackie Chan’s son Jaycee was caught in a drug bust and after the police found more than 100 grams of marijuana in his apartment, he was sentenced to six months in prison in Beijing. This was in fact a lenient sentence since Jaycee co-operated with the authorities and volunteered further information.

To say it was a huge let down for father Jackie Chan would be an understatement, for he was named anti-drugs ambassador by the Chinese government in 2009. That said; Jaycee had the humility to issue a public apology after his release for his misdirected conduct that had let his family, friends and business associates down. He further stated that the prison had been a harsh but deserved punishment and he did not let his parents visit him there to spare them any further suffering – he hoped that his acting career was still viable and promised to behave like a responsible citizen from there on. Jackie stood, and still stands, behind his son. That’s what parenting is all about.

4. The Not-So-Good Son: Chet Hanks

The son of acclaimed Hollywood star Tom Hanks and his second wife, Rita Wilson – Chet Hanks is no stranger to courtroom drama. Now the thing about Tom Hanks is that he’s probably one of the nicest guys around in Hollywood – and despite some scandals about the end of his first marriage with reports of infidelity – his closet has been mostly free of skeletons. Until Chet grew up.

This wannabe rapper goes by the name Chet Haze and in June 2015 openly used the N-word, claiming that everyone has free rights to use it, in a loving way. In October, he backpedaled and apologized publicly for doing so. In the same month, he was also accused of trashing a hotel room in the UK after a drunken party – which he completely denied. His troubles didn’t just end there – even before these two incidents, junior Hanks was involved in a fender bender with another car and ended up injuring the driver Terry Moogan. While police were never called to the scene, Moogan ended up suing Chet, as well as his parents (it was their car) for letting their son drive under the influence thus making Tom Hanks pay, literally, for having Chet as a son!

3. Knocking On The Prison’s Door: The Douglas Chronicles

And then there’s the sad, sorry and drug-filled tale of Cameron Douglas – son of actor Michael Douglas and his ex-wife Diandra Morrel. Despite having the genes of actors like his grandfather Kirk Douglas and his father Michael Douglas, and even after having acted in a couple of movies himself – Cameron turned to the dark side of drugs.

He was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance in 1999 (found with cocaine) but the charges were dropped down to disorderly conduct after he pleaded guilty. In 2007, he was charged with a felony possession of a controlled substance when a syringe with liquid cocaine was found in his car. In 2009 however, the ball dropped when he was arrested by the DEA with 0.5 pounds of methamphetamine. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute drugs and to heroin possession and was sentenced to five years in prison in 2010.

In 2011 he yet again pled guilty to possessing drugs in prison and got an addition 4½ years. He had his leg broken by another inmate in 2012, was found with drugs in his system in 2013 and sentenced to solitary confinement. However, in April this year, he was released from prison (after seven years in prison, including two of them in solitary confinement) to a halfway house where he now plans to write a book about his prison time. Talk about a bad egg!

2. Hefner Junior Thrashes Playmate

With a legacy like Playboy; it’s no wonder that Hugh’s son Marston Hefner was arrested in 2012 for beating and physically abusing his then girlfriend, Playmate Claire Sinclair. While Hefner senior was in no way responsible for his son’s behavior, it's perhaps the entire “playmate” fantasy Playboy built that made Marston think it was okay to do what he wanted, when he wanted.

Claire and Marston had been dating since 2010, and in 2011, Claire was the official pin-up and Playmate of the year. In an interview with GQ in 2008, the then 18-year-old Marston had said: “My, like, expectancy for what girl I'm going to get is, like, so f*****-up. I've just been around really hot women my entire life, so the average high school girl won't do it for me.”

Claire on the other hand, often described her relationship to Marston as tumultuous. In 2012 however, the stormy relationship further descended into violence, with Claire alleging that Marston kicked and punched her. He was arrested and then let out on a $20,000 bail and was later barred from seeing her along with being sentenced to a 52-week domestic violence program. No play there!

1. They Don’t Get Worse Than This: The Sheen Is Off

When it comes to bad boys of Hollywood who also happen to be the monumental brat-children of yesteryear stars, Charlie Sheen takes the cake, and eats it too.

And we’re not just talking about his HIV+ bombshell. Let’s begin with Kelly Preston (his then girlfriend) being shot in the arm accidentally when Charlie forgot about the loaded revolver in his pants pocket, in 1990. Unsurprisingly, they split soon after. Then came his confession of paying for highly priced call girls from Madame Heidi in 1995 followed by his assault on porn star Brittany Ashland in 1996. A string of drug overdoses and DUIs interspersed with rehab followed.

Then he threatened his wife Brooke Mueller with a knife – and her 911 call was heard around the world. Marriage and divorce to Denise Richards followed with plenty meltdowns in public places and just as many hospital visits. Finally, having been kicked out of his very successful show Two And A Half Men after calling the producer a clown; the joke is on him. His father, reacting to his HIV+ announcement, quoted that it was the bravest thing that Charlie had ever done.

Facepalm.
