15 Celeb Couples You Forgot Ever Existed

via:El Correo/www.enter.co/Family Guy Wiki - Wikia

By now, most of us have been involved in at least one romantic/intimate relationship with another individual, and for those who have yet to experience such a thing, do not worry because, often, you are not missing all that much. Granted, being in a relationship with someone is great, since you often grow to love and care about the other person, and they usually return the sentiment; but like most things in life, such relationships tend not to last forever and turn sour. It is true that some couples are capable of overcoming this sourness, by working it out and getting past any problems that may come up; but in most cases, couples cannot reconcile, which leads to break-ups and divorce.

We treat celebrities, whether they are actors, musicians, or athletes, as if they are a different species simply because they are rich and famous, but the truth is, that aside from all the wealth and fame, they are just ordinary people like the rest of us. Since celebrities are like us, it means that they too have intimate relationships with other people, except that they tend to get involved with other celebrities. In Hollywood, there are examples of celebrity couples who manage to stay together for a very long time, but in most cases, these relationships do not last very long for any number of reasons. There are celebrities who we all know have dated or been married to each other, but there are some relationships that we completely forgot even existed, and this list will showcase 15 of said forgotten relationships.

15. Jennifer Lopez & Sean Combs

Jennifer Lopez may be an actress, producer, fashion designer and dancer, but what she is best known for is her music, and although she did not really become popular until the late 90s, she continues to be one of the best musicians today. She has had several high profile relationships in the past, including Ben Affleck, who she ended up engaged to, and singer Marc Anthony, whom she was legally married to for ten years (2004-2014) and with whom she shares two children. Her first high profile relationship though came in 1999, when she started dating rapper and record producer Sean Combs, otherwise known as Puff Daddy, P.Diddy or just Diddy. This relationship lasted only a couple of months, and ended when Lopez left him after an incident took place at a New York club that resulted in the pair getting arrested for being connected to a shooting; which led to them both being charged with possession of a criminal weapon. She ended up being exonerated of the charge, but he still got indicted.

14. Miley Cyrus & Tyler Posey

Anyone who listens to music, or who has read or watched any of the dozens of celebrity news outlets, knows who Miley Cyrus is; but before she made her mark as a now provocative singer and performer, she was a Disney star who rose to popularity thanks to her role on the show Hannah Montana. Currently, Miley is in a relationship with actor Liam Hemsworth, a relationship which has had its ups and downs; but before she became famous, Miley dated a fellow yet-to-be-famous actor by the name of Tyler Posey. Posey is an actor who has appeared in several movies, including Scary Movie 5, but he is mostly known for his work on television, especially on the MTV series Teen Wolf, where he plays the lead role. The two actually started dating when they were both nine years old, and they continued to date for two years before breaking up; Posey has even said that his first kiss was indeed with Miley.

13. Madonna & Sean Penn

Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga and even the aforementioned Miley Cyrus, may all be known for having done some provocative performances in their careers, and it is primarily thanks to Madonna that these kinds of performances exist. Madonna is a singer who has been referred to at times as the Queen of Pop, and she rose to popularity by pushing boundaries in both her lyrics and music videos. In February of 1985, she met actor, activist and now two-time Oscar winner Sean Penn, and after only six months of dating, the pair married in August on Madonna’s birthday. Their marriage ended up lasting for four years, but in that time, there were instances of violence against the paparazzi, as well as allegations that Penn hit Madonna several times, allegations which she has dismissed, but which would explain why she is in fact filed for divorce twice during their marriage. Since the divorce, the two have remained friendly though, and have gone on to have relationships with other well known individuals, like Madonna who married Guy Ritchie and then dated baseball player Alex Rodriguez, and Penn who dated the likes of Robin Wright and Charlize Theron.

12. Derek Jeter & Minka Kelly

For anyone who watches baseball, you know exactly who Derek Jeter is, but for those of you who do not know baseball, he played for the New York Yankees as the team’s shortstop, and he will go down as one of the best Yankees and shortstops in the game’s history. Throughout his twenty year career with New York, Jeter was without a doubt the most beloved player on the team, and during his playing days, he was known for dating models and actresses, including Jessica Biel, Mariah Carey and Jordana Brewster. Minka Kelly is an actress who has appeared in movies such as The Roommate and The Butler, but she is mainly known for her television roles, specifically her role on the drama series Friday Night Lights. They started their relationship in May of 2008, and they stayed together for just over two years until August 2010; but in 2012, they briefly reconnected, before splitting up again a short time later.

11. Carmen Electra & Dennis Rodman

Carmen Electra is a glamour model as well as a TV personality and actress, and during the 1990s, she was considered to be one of the biggest sex symbols in the United States; and it is because of how attractive she is that she earned roles in shows like MTV Spring Break and Baywatch, and parody movies like Epic Movie, Date Movie and Scary Movie. Dennis Rodman may now be mostly known for his visits to North Korea and his friendship with the country’s dictator, but before that he was known for being a rather effective basketball player who won five Championships split between the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls. These two dated briefly before marrying each other in a wedding chapel in Las Vegas in November of 1998, and nine days later, Rodman filed to have the marriage annulled. The annulment did not go through though, as the pair reconciled, but by April of 1999, they both decided to split up for good and got divorced.

10. Mila Kunis & Macaulay Culkin

Mila Kunis may have started acting when she was a kid, but she probably would have never made a name for herself if it were not for landing her role on That 70’s Show; and if it were not for that show, she likely would have also never met her current husband Ashton Kutcher (whose famous ex is Demi Moore). Fans of the show may have always wanted the pair together, but that could not really happen until now, as they were both previously in long term relationships with other celebrities, and in Mila’s case, she was with Macaulay Culkin. Many young people today may not know the name Macaulay Culkin, and that would be because he does not really act anymore, but he will always be famous for his role in the Home Alone movies. He and Mila started dating in 2002, and their relationship lasted for about nine years until she confirmed that they had officially separated in 2011; and during that almost decade-long romance, there was even a lot of speculation that the two were going to get married.

9. Taylor Swift & Taylor Lautner

Ever since she released her first album in 2006, Taylor Swift has become a superstar in the music industry, becoming one of the best female singers on the planet, and being a role model for girls all over the world. She may have changed her style a bit with her last album, but she is still known for writing her own songs which are based on her personal life, including past relationships. There have been jokes made about how Swift can never have a lengthy relationship, and some of her more pronounced haters will say that she only gets into relationships for more songwriting material. Although that may not be the case, no one can refute the fact that Swift has gone through her fair share of breakups, one of which occurred when her relationship with actor Taylor Lautner came to an end. Lautner gained fame for being the sexy werewolf in the awful Twilight movie franchise, and he started dating Swift in 2009; and although people thought they looked good together, they lasted only four months. After they broke up, Swift wrote the song “Back to December” which is a presumed apology meant for Lautner.

8. Uma Thurman & Gary Oldman

Uma Thurman has appeared in over twenty movies, but she will always be remembered for her work in Pulp Fiction, the Kill Bill movies, and for playing Poison Ivy in the atrocious Batman & Robin. Gary Oldman has appeared in more than twenty movies as well, including Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Air Force One, but he started to get a lot more work after appearing in franchises like Harry Potter and Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. While on the set of the movie State of Grace, Thurman and Oldman met, and shortly thereafter they began seeing each other, and after a couple of months of dating, they were married in 1990. In hindsight, it appears that the two rushed into marriage, as their love story only lasted for about two years before they decided to call it quits and file for divorce. It just goes to show that just because things are amazing during the first couple of months of dating, it does not mean that either party is meant to be married to the other.

7. Angelina Jolie & Jonny Lee Miller

Last month, the entertainment world was stunned to learn the news that Angelina Jolie had filed for divorce, thus putting an end to her twelve-year long relationship with actor Brad Pitt. The Hollywood power couple started their relationship under scandalous circumstances as Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston at the time, and although they were together for over a decade, they had only been officially married for the past two years; but this is not Jolie’s first failed celebrity marriage. Most people remember the fact that at one point, Jolie was married to Billy Bob Thornton, who was twenty years her senior, and with whom she shared public displays of affection with; and their marriage legally lasted for three years (2000-03). Before Thornton though, Angelina married another fellow actor, Jonny Lee Miller (Sherlock Holmes in the show Elementary), who she also co-starred with in the 1995 movie Hackers. She and Miller were married in 1996, but they apparently rushed themselves to the altar, as their marriage lasted only 18 months before divorce proceedings were underway.

6. Tom Cruise & Mimi Rogers

Tom Cruise has been acting in movies for over 30 years now, and in all that time, he has credited roles in almost forty movies, with his most notable work of course being the Mission Impossible franchise, Risky Business, Top Gun and Jerry Maguire. In his three decades in Hollywood, Cruise has been married three times, with his most recent ex-wife being actress Katie Holmes, and before that he was married to Nicole Kidman; and before that he was married to actress Mimi Rogers. Rogers has appeared on television in a variety of shows and TV movies, with her most recent notable role coming in Two and a Half Men; and she and Cruise got married in 1987. By the time 1989 came along though, their marriage had reached its end, and they filed for divorce; but what is interesting about this relationship in particular, is that Rogers was the Scientologist who introduced Cruise to the ‘religion’.

5. Drew Barrymore & Tom Green

Ever since she was five years old, Drew Barrymore has been appearing in Hollywood movies, and although she is mostly known for starring in comedies (primarily those involving Adam Sandler, lately) she has credits in movies like Charlie’s Angels, E.T. and Firestarter. In 2016, Tom Green has basically fallen off the map in terms of relevance and popularity, but there was a time when he was a fairly popular comedian and a host on MTV. Barrymore and Green started dating in 1999, and after a short time, they got engaged in the summer of 2000, and were then wed the following year. As it turns out though, they were not meant to live happily ever after, as Green filed for divorce barely five months into their marriage. The divorce was finalized in 2002, and their separation seems to have not been that amicable, as the pair have still not seen one another since the divorce over a decade ago.

4. Bradley Cooper & Jennifer Esposito

Bradley Cooper has become a sought after actor in Hollywood, and he has The Hangover to thank for that, because if it were not for that movie, he may have not been sought out for roles in American Sniper, Silver Linings Playbook and (voiced) Guardians of the Galaxy. Cooper has had his fair share of celebrity relationships, as he has dated several models and actresses like Renee Zellweger and Zoe Saldana; but each of those relationships occurred after 2008 when his divorce from actress Jennifer Esposito was finalized. Esposito has appeared in movies such as Crash and Taxi, but she is now known primarily for her TV work in shows such as Blue Bloods, Mistresses and NCIS. The pair got engaged in October of 2006, and found themselves tying the knot two months later; but their marriage bliss was short lived as Esposito filed for divorce barely five months later. Based on the women he has been with since, it is fair to say that Cooper was not left heartbroken after the failed marriage.

3. Nicolas Cage & Lisa Marie Presley

There was a time when Nicolas Cage was considered to be a great actor, which was early on in his career, as evidenced by his Oscar winning performance in Leaving Las Vegas, but he also starred in well received movies like Con Air, Face/Off and The Rock. Despite at one time being one of the highest paid actors in the industry, Cage has suffered from major financial problems which have forced him to basically take any role that is offered to him, but during his glory days, he was married twice, with Lisa Marie Presley being his second wife. Lisa Marie is a singer and an actress, who is more famous for being Elvis’ daughter than anything else, and her marriage to Cage was her third overall. The two first met at a party in 2000, and after about two years, they were married in 2002; but like many celebrity relationships, things did not last long after the wedding, as Cage filed for divorce barely one hundred days after they said their vows.

2. Emilia Clarke & Seth Macfarlane

via huffingtonpost.com

This entry actually involves the most recent former celebrity coupling, but because it was so short lived and surprisingly low-profile, many people are still unaware of the fact that Daenerys Targaryen dated Quagmire. Emilia Clarke is of course known worldwide for her role on Game of Thrones, a role that has allowed her to expand into movies, and Seth MacFarlane is of course known for being the creator and star of both American Dad and Family Guy; and this somewhat unlikely pair did in fact date back in 2012. In total, their relationship lasted for only six months, with their busy and conflicting work schedules being the main reason for their break-up; but unlike many of the former couples on this list, the two have still remained friends. Whether you like his shows or not, you all have no choice but to accept the fact that Macfarlane has done something many people wish they could do: kiss the future queen of Westeros.

1. George Clooney & Talia Balsam

George Clooney started his acting career on TV with shows like Roseanne and ER and although he played Batman in 1997, his career did not really take off until 2001 when he starred in Ocean’s Eleven. Since 2001, Clooney has gone on to become an Oscar Award-winning actor and producer who has been named the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’, and who was considered to be one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors. There was a time when people thought that no woman could get Clooney to say “I do”, a belief that was squashed in 2014 when he married his current wife Amal. What entertainment outlets at the time failed to mention though, was the fact that Clooney was indeed married before, to actress Talia Balsam, who has worked in both television and movies. The pair got married in 1989 in Las Vegas, and remained legally married until 1993 when they were finally divorced, and Clooney has admitted that at the time he was just not ready to be married.
