History classes are not only about our world’s past, but it’s sometimes used to teach a lesson. After all doesn’t the old saying go “those that fail to learn their history are doomed to repeat it”? What if all we learned in school was quite accurate however? What if some of the stories had been altered to fit what our ancestors wanted us to believe? It happens more often than we’d like to admit sometimes, but it does happen. Stories like young George Washington cutting down his father’s cherry tree and the story of Pocahontas are just that; stories. So how much of our history have we really been misinformed of?
