Dubai has never failed to cast a magic spell over thousands of visitors that come to the city from all parts of the world each day. From beaches to malls, and from desert safaris to awesome marine adventures, Dubai’s vast pool of entertainment and recreational facilities offer something for everyone. The emirate has worked hard to gain international tourists’ attention and looks set to achieve its goal of attracting 20 million visitors a year by 2020.
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the port city will be launching major projects in 2016 that will further cement its position as a top tourist destination. So with a little help from our friends at Bayut.com, we take stock of what Dubai has in store for us this year.
4. Dubai Safari
Dubai Safari is being shaped to become a unique adventure with over 1,000 animal species, 350 of which are rare and endangered, in an area spread across 119 hectares. The ambitious project is headed for completion by mid-2016 and promises great fun. In addition to the sights of a diverse range of animals, the Dubai Safari would also consist of four villages – Arabian Village, Asian Village, African Village, Safari Village – a botanical garden and Butterfly Park. The safari could prove to be a trip of a lifetime for young and old alike, keeping in view the variety of entertainment venues available in a single outing. Another noteworthy feature of the project is its grand garden that has 100 different kinds of plants along with 2,500 trees to provide shade to people during sunny Dubai afternoons. Can’t wait for it, right?
3. IMG Worlds of Adventure
IMG Worlds of Adventure is based on radical construction techniques when it comes to creating great entertainment venues for tourists and locals. The project is based on four exclusive themes – Cartoon Network, Marvel, IMG Boulevard and the Lost Valley – Dinosaur Adventure. Covering an area of 1.5 million square feet, the project is set to become the largest indoor theme park in the world.
Apart from offering amazing installations, shopaholics can shop until they drop or satisfy the hunger pangs at 25 retail and 28 food and beverages outlets to be made available at the premises. Another heartening feature of this project is 12-screen Novo cinemas that can satiate the tastes of movie fans from around the world.
2. Dubai Parks and Resorts
Dubai Parks and Resorts has been designed to become the largest integrated theme park resort in the Middle East region. The salient features of the project include three theme parks and a water park, including Motiongate™ Dubai, Bollywood Parks™ Dubai, LEGOLAND® Dubai and LEGOLAND® Water Park. The mega project is expected to open its gates to visitors in October 2016.
1. Dubai Frame
Dubai Frame is an imposing project that is also thought-provoking in the sense that it acts as a mirror between the old and new parts of the emirate, thus providing a unique perspective to visitors looking through the gigantic rectangular structure. The installation is positioned in such a way as to reveal magnificent views of old Dubai on one side and high-rise landmarks associated with modern Dubai on the other.
With so many goodies in the plans, Dubai has to be a must on your travel list year. Thankfully, the year has just begun, so there is still time to alter your resolutions to accommodate a little more saving for a memorable trip to the wonderland that is Dubai.
