Dubai is already home to a number of awe-inspiring structures, but the emirate appears insatiable when it comes to creating real estate masterpieces one after the other. To further cement its relationship with beautiful architecture as much more than an infatuation, Dubai is set to welcome some impressive structures this year as well.
Let Bayut.com walk you through the standout real estate projects coming to Dubai in 2016.
6. Dubai Canal Project
Being constructed in the Business Bay area along Safa Park, the canal and its related development will be a sight to behold once completed by mid-2016. Consisting of 4,500 apartments, 44 townhouses, 19 villas, offices, sports centre and a public park, the living standard in the vicinity would mirror two things; refinement and class. The AED $2 billion project will have all the facilities an inhabitant can imagine and its construction has already helped boost real estate prices in Business Bay.
5. Mohammed Bin Rashid City
The grand project that aims at building a city within a city is one of the hottest ventures being built in Dubai. Per plans, the development scheme will house a Universal Studios complex and a public park that would be larger than London’s famous Hyde Park and have a capacity to receive 35 million visitors a year. MBR City will also boast a luxury residential community, a golf course and more than 100 hotels. The first phase, District One by Meydan Sobha, is close to completion and will open doors to public this year.
4. Dubai Opera
Downtown Dubai is among the most commercially viable spaces in the world and the addition of Dubai Opera would add more color to the already thriving business hub. The grand opera will have a capacity to seat 2,000 people and will be multi-format theatre. For connoisseurs of art, entertainment and culture, the opera will provide ample opportunities in the guise of theatres, concerts, ballet, art exhibitions, orchestra, film, sports events and other similar programmes. The addition of a modern art museum, two art hotels, design studios and galleries will be nothing short of icing on the cake for Downtown Dubai, which is set to become an even hotter locality than it already is.
If a visit doesn’t do for you, there is an option of purchasing apartments inside the building. Talk about an artistic lifestyle!
3. Viceroy Dubai Palm Jumeirah
The Viceroy Dubai Palm Jumeirah that is set to be launched by mid-2016 at a whooping cost of $1 billion. This hotel project will include 479 luxury rooms/suites in addition to 222 signature Viceroy Residences and will offer the finest living options to visitors. The fun value will be further enhanced by 10 beachside restaurants that will satisfy the palates of food connoisseurs. Of course, indulgence in the various outdoor swimming pools at the Viceroy will be more than welcome.
2. Marina 101 Hotel Tower
Though this project was slated to be launched in 2015, the Marina 101 Tower will now be completed in 2016. If you fancy looking at or living in beautiful tall buildings, this particular project is only second to the magnificent Burj Khalifa. There is also good news for the rock and rollers out there, as the tower will house the Middle East’s first Hard Rock Hotel. Crank up the volume, we say!
1. Floating Seahorse Villas
Have you ever imagined living in a regal undersea mansion? Well consider yourself delivered then. The signature floating villas, ‘Floating Seahorse’, are being constructed by Austrian developer Kleindienst Group right in the middle of its ‘Heart of Europe’ resort at The World Islands. Based on a three-storied design, the Floating Seahorse will provide a natural view of the coral reef and share the space with a healthy population of seahorses. The structure has been designed and fabricated in the UAE and is an excellent example of local craftsmanship. The Floating Seahorse is already creating waves in the international investor circles and we reckon the queue is going to be longer than some expect.
