Forbes conducted the list of the highest paid cricketers of 2012. The list is based on the earnings of the cricketers by endorsements, match play, match fees, sponsors etc. Indian and Australian cricketers are leading in all of them. Six Indian players get to make a place in the Forbes list. Here are the details of the players.

1. Mahendra Singh Dhoni-India

Indian cricket team captain M S Dhoni becomes the highest earning cricketer of the year with the earnings of $26.5 million. A big part of the money came from brand endorsements which is approx. $23 million, his match fees has a tiny part of $3.5 million in his earnings. Currently dhoni endorsing 17 big brands following Reebok, Pepsi, Lays, Boost, Exide, TVS, Dabur, Titan, Gulf Oil etc.

2. Sachin Tendulkar

"The God Of Cricket" is also doing some miracles off the cricket field with earning a whopping amount of $18.6 million in 2012. Sachin got an amount of $16.5 million for his brand endorsement deals with brands like Aviva Insurance, Coca-Cola, Jaypee Cement, Adidas, Toshiba, Castrol, Luminous, Rbs Banking etc. Sachin also earn a good amount of money from his restaurant chain in Mumbai and Bangalore named Tendulkar's.

3. Gautam Gambhir

The Kolkata Knight Riders captain and the key player of Indian cricket team Gautam Gambhir has an earning of $7.3 million in 2012. He earned $3.9 million as his match fees and $3.4 million from his brand endorsement deals. Goutam Gambhir endorses brands like   MRF, Reebok, BHPC, Lays, Royal Stag etc.

4. Virat Kohli

The Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper and an aggressive and a new rising star of Indian cricket team Virat Kohli is forth among the top richest cricketers of 2012. Kohli earned total $7.1 million in 2012. He earned $4 million from his brand endorsements deals and $3.1 million from his cricket match fees. Kohli is becoming famous among youth and earning a good response from critics with his special knocks. Currently Kohli is associated with brands like Nike, Pepsico, Toyota, Karbonn Mobiles, TVS, Cinthol, Nestle etc.

5. Virender Sehwag

The destructive opener of Indian cricket team, Virender Sehwag is also a top earning cricketer of 2012. The highest scorer of men's ODI format has managed to earn a total of $6.9 million last year. Out of which a big part of the money $4.1 million came from his endorsement deals and his earnings as cricket match fees is $2.8 million. Virender Sehwag is a delightful batsman who people loves to watch. He is associated with brands like Hero, Fila, Jaypee cement, Royal challenge etc.

6. Shane Watson

The most famous Australian cricketer Shane Watson is also the richest cricketer of Australia now. The blasting batsman and an useful all-rounder is on the sky with the total earnings of  $5.9 million. Shane Watson is a part of teams like New South Wales in Big Bash League and Rajasthan Royals in IPL. He earned $3 million from his endorsement deals, he is associated with brands like Gunn & Moore, Asics, TAG Heuer.

 7. Michael Clarke

The Australian cricket team skipper Michael Clarke is a prominent batsman of cricket fraternity, he has shown his melt with his cool tempered innings of 329 runs and his confidence of taking right decisions at right time has earned him $4.9 million last year. He is a part of Pune Warriors India from this year in IPL. He endorses brands like Spartan Sports, Gillete, bonds etc.

8. Brett Lee

One of the most fastest bowlers of the cricket history and the most cheeky and handsom guy of the cricket field is also one among the top earning cricketers. He earned $4.8 million last year with the earnings of $3.8 million from his endorsement deals. He is playing for KKR this year in IPL. He endorses brands like Reebok, Gatorade and Vodafone.

9. Ricky Ponting

Ricky Ponting is the most successful captain of Australian cricket team with two world cup title wins. He is a stylish batsman with his some trademark classic masterpiece strokes. He is the one who has given Sachin Tendulkar a good competition on cricket field. He earned $4.1 million last year. He promote brands like Kookaburra, Valvoline, Rexona etc.

10. Yusuf Pathan

The power hitter of Indian cricket team Yusuf Pathan is also making a mark in rich list with earnings of $3.7 million last year. He is one of the most expensive players of IPL. He earned $3.3 million through his match fees and he endorses brands like Pepsico, Tata Indicom etc. His brother Irfan Pathan is also a star of Indian cricket team.
