10 Best-Selling NBA Jerseys – NBA’s Top-Selling Jerseys

It’s the ultimate NBA popularity contest: the annual list of the league’s best selling jerseys. Fans put down their hard – earned cash to support the players they love the most.

While some players remain consistently popular there are always surprises who crack the top 10.

The NBA’s top-selling jerseys list is based on sales on NBAStore.com since the start of the 2010-11 NBA season and is the official list

1. LeBron James

Team: Miami Heat

James reclaims the top jersey spot last held in 2004. He wore #23 with the Cavaliers but in March of 2010 filed paperwork with the NBA to change his number from #23 to #6 this season. James said the switch was out of respect for his idol Michael Jordan. After signing with the Miami Heat as a free agent he became the third reigning NBA MVP to change teams and the first since Moses Malone in 1982.

2. Kobe Bryant

Team: Los Angeles Lakers

Bryant drops to #2 on the jersey list after holding the top spot the last two seasons. He has won five NBA Championships, two scoring titles, and one MVP. After the 2005-06 season Bryant switch his jersey number from #8 to #24.

3. Rajon Rondo

Team: Boston Celtics

Rondo is one of five Boston Celtics to make the top 15 jersey sales list in 2010-11. He was the 22nd pick in the 2006 NBA draft after playing two years at the University of Kentucky. Rondo is a two-time NBA All-Star.

4. Amar’e Stoudemire

Team: New York Knicks

Along with Carmelo Anthony, Stoudemire has led the Knicks to their first playoff appearance in six seasons. Stoudemire scored at least 30 points in nine straight games from Nov. 28 to Dec. 15. Before joining the Knicks, Stoudemire spent 8 seasons with the Phoenix Suns.

5. Derrick Rose

Team: Chicago Bulls

Rose is a leading candidate for the NBA MVP, averaging 25.1 points, 7.8 assists, 4.1 rebounds. At 22, Rose would be the youngest player to win the MVP. Under Rose this season, the Bulls have improved from an eight seed in the NBA playoffs to a number one seed.

6. Dwyane Wade

Team: Miami Heat

Wade holds his spot as the sixth most – popular jersey in the NBA. Wade currently ranks third in NBA scoring average behind Kevin Durant and teammate LeBron James. Wade carried the Heat to a championship in 2006.

7. Kevin Durant

Team: Oklahoma City Thunder

The 22 year-old Durant is expected to claim his second straight NBA scoring title this season. In 2009-10, Durant finished 2nd to LeBron James in voting for the NBA MVP.

8. Carmelo Anthony

Team: New York Knicks

According to CNBC sources, Adidas shipped an estimated 17,000 new Carmelo Anthony jerseys to New York – area retailers in the 72 hours after Anthony was traded from the Denver Nuggets to the New York Knicks. Another 50,000 jerseys were expected to ship within a month after the trade. Fans will have reason to wear those jerseys a little longer this year, as the Knicks are in the playoffs for the first time since the 2003-04 season.

9. Dwight Howard

Team: Orlando Magic

Howard stays in the top 10 after finishing 5th in jersey sales last season. One of the emerging stars in the NBA, Howard is also the most popular celebrity in Orlando, second perhaps only to a well – known mouse. Enjoying his best individual season on the court, Howard also leads the NBA with 18 technical fouls.

10. John Wall

Team: Washington Wizards

Wall is the only rookie to make the top 10 list in 2010-2011. Wall was the number one pick in the last June’s NBA draft.
