Even celebrities are human beings too. And like many human beings, some of them are racist. They might try to hide their inner feelings from the public eye, but all it takes is one slip of the tongue for their true opinions to come out. Racism knows no boundaries. It is present in all kinds of people, and all kinds of celebrities. From actors and actresses to athletes and musicians, and even politicians, anyone can be racist. Sometimes these people are the last individuals you would expect to have racist tendencies, their public politically correct facade merely a mask to hide their darkest inner hatred for other races.
Some of these people get away with it scot-free. Others have been blacklisted from the industry since their remarks were made public. Others seem to revel in making their racist ideology known to the public, not caring about what anyone else thinks. In America, we are supposed to have freedom of speech. So technically people can say whatever they want and not get arrested. As it should be. But should other people’s feelings stop people from exercising their 1st Amendment rights? What’s more important, someone getting offended, or losing the right to free speech forever?
You’d be surprised at some of the celebs who make this list; people who are supposed to be “angels” in their public lives. That just proves you can never judge a book by its cover, and sometimes you have to dig deeper to find someone’s true personality…
15. Mel Gibson
Mel Gibson is perhaps one of the most well-known celebrities to have questionable views regarding race. In the last decade or so, his reputation has really gone downhill, and it was mostly due to some very insensitive comments he has made over the years. His ex-girlfriend taped him during a phone call during which he told her, “You’re an embarrassment to me, you look like a f—ing pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of n—ers, it will be your fault.” When he was pulled over for a DUI, he told the police officer, “F**king Jews…the Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.” He may be a very talented actor, but Mel Gibson definitely has a wild, dark side. This guy has gone on some seriously crazy rants in the past, and it’s no wonder why he’s known as the “crazy guy” of Hollywood today…
14. Hillary Clinton
Hillary Clinton often accuses her political opponents of racism, but even she has had slips of the tongue in the past when it comes to race issues. In 1974, after Bill Clinton lost his seat in senate, she had an outburst that was witnessed by 3 people, and it was directed at campaign manager Paul Fray, calling him a “F*cking Jew bastard!” When Hillary was first lady, she referred to young blacks as “super predators,” and said they need to be “brought to heel.” That’s blatantly racist. In 2005, Hillary Clinton said she was “adamantly against illegal immigrants.” She also famously said that she “always carries hot sauce in her purse” in an obvious way to try to pander to blacks. Hillary often accuses Donald Trump of being racist, but is she being hypocritical in these accusations? One needs only to dig into her past to find the stunning truth…
13. Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan is a wrestling legend, but everything was stripped from him when he was caught making racist remarks. It all started when his daughter started dating a black guy. When he was talking to his friend about it, he said, “I don’t give a f*** if she (inaudible) an eight foot tall basketball player. If we’re gonna f*** with n*****s, let’s get a rich one!” He then continued by saying, “I’m a racist to a point, y’know, f***ing n*****s…” When you openly admit that you’re racist, you know things aren’t going to go well… And sure enough after the WWE heard about his comments, he was fired from the organization and his name was wiped from the Hall of Fame. He went from being an American icon to the shame of the nation in a matter of days. This just shows how careful you have to be with your words these days, especially if you’re a celebrity.
12. Justin Bieber
I know what you’re thinking. Justin Bieber a racist? No way! But stay with me here. It all happened back when Justin Bieber was 14 years old. He was being video taped hanging out with some of his friends, chatting and making jokes. Well some of these jokes started to get pretty… dark. The recording starts with the young Justin Bieber appearing to make a joke about black people having no fathers… Then it get worse. Justin Bieber asks his friends, “Why are black people scared of chainsaws?” His friend begs him not to tell the joke, but Justin Bieber continues, saying, “Run, n***a, n***a, n**ga, n***ga.” (He is imitating the sound of a chainsaw). For some reason, Justin Bieber’s career was completely unaffected by these comments… If comments like these just happened to get caught on tape, imagine the kinds of things he says in private! This sheds a whole new light on his “clean” image.
11. Donald Sterling
LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling was in hot water after being caught making racist comments to his mistress. Phone conversations between him and his mistress, V. Viviano, were recorded and this guy’s racist attitudes towards black people went public. It all started when his mistress posted a picture of her with Magic Johnson on Instagram. In a phone call to her, he said, “It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you have to?” In another conversation, he was recorded saying, “You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it on that … and not to bring them to my games.” He made many other racist comments, and he was essentially fired from being the owner of the Clippers, with the NBA later stating that he had damaged the reputation of professional basketball.
10. Michael Richards
Michael Richards‘ life was turned upside down after the comedian used the “N” word in one of his stand up routines. It all happened in 2007 when he was doing stand up for “Laugh Factory.” One audience member was making too much noise, and so Richard tried to make a joke out of it. That joke backfired, horribly. He ended up calling the audience member the “N” word. Unluckily for him, another audience member was video taping the entire routine on her smartphone, which she posted on the internet. When the press caught light of it, there was no hope for Michael. He had to announce his retirement from stand up comedy shortly after the incident. It’s a shame because he probably didn’t mean to say those things, and it probably just sort of “happened” during his stand-up routine. Remember that a lot of stand-up comedy is improvised and it happens in the spur of the moment. Sometimes you can end up doing things you regret… for life.
9. Charlie Sheen
Charlie Sheen has been involved in pretty much every type of controversy you can imagine. And yes, this includes racism. He once called Obama “Barry Kenya.” However, his most intense racist rant was directed at his ex-wife, Denise Richards. He left an anger-fueled voicemail message on her phone, saying “I hope I never f-cking talk to you again you f-cking c-nt. F-ck you. You’re a coward and a liar and a f-cking n-gger alright, so f-ck you.” Who knows if Charlie Sheen is actually racist, or he was just caught up in the passion of a bad breakup and words just started to come out (as they do). Luckily for Sheen, there are so many other controversial moments that he’s been a part of that this one actually seems pretty minor in comparison to the even more insane things this guy has said and done… Just goes to show how little this guy cares about what people think…
8. John Wayne
John Wayne was the all-American. He became a symbol for Hollywood, the wild west, and good old-fashioned traditional men. So it was pretty shattering when he said in a Maxim interview in 1971 that he supported white supremacy. His exact words were, “I believe in white supremacy until the blacks are educated to a point of responsibility. I don’t feel guilty about the fact that five or ten generations ago these people were slaves.” So think about that the next time you see this guy taking names and kicking ass in an old western movie! If he were alive today, he’d probably support Trump! While his comments are certainly racist, one must remember that back in John Wayne’s time, racism was very common in America. Just about everyone would spout racist view as if they were discussing the weather. He would probably phrase his words differently if he were alive today.
7. Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton is another celebrity known for her moments of extreme controversy. She’s also one of those people who is famous for doing nothing. But that still doesn’t stop people from listening to what she has to say, as if it actually mattered! Some people even buy her books! It was in one of these books that she revealed her utter disgust for black men. In the book, she discusses an experience she had with one man, saying, “We were making out, but then we went somewhere where it was bright and I saw that he was black and made an excuse and left. I can’t stand black guys. I would never touch one. It’s gross.” She later said that she would never date a black guy, even if he were “1 percent” black. It may be considered racist, but then again, people are entitled to their own views and should be able to choose the types of people who they are romantic with, without fear of being called “racist.”
6. Tila Tequila
Tila Tequila started her career fairly innocently, as a star on reality television. But i don’t think anyone could have predicted the person she has become today. She constantly goes on racist rants, and there are countless examples of this on social media. She once disparaged J-Lo by dismissing her as “Just a Mexican with money.” She also once tried to defend Hitler, saying he was a nice kid who just wanted to go to art school, saying “I never said I hated anyone, but just because I feel sympathy, compassion, and forgiveness for others such as Hitler means I am now a monster? All for trying to open your eyes to the truth that Hitler was NOT as bad as he was painted out to be?” She’s also attacked immigrants, saying “Ain’t nuthin better than riding around Texas in my cowboy boots to hunt down these damn illegals! #SendThemBack.” Some other highlights include: “Black people are the only people who can get a job based on their skin color. The rest of us actually have to prove ourselves.”
5. Bill Clinton
Bill Clinton has made extremely disparaging comments towards Barack Obama in the past. In 2008, as Barack Obama was running for president, he made a very questionable remark. He said that “A few years ago, this guy would be carrying our bags.” Does that sound racist to you? I don’t see how it can be viewed as anything but racism… But that’s just me. Back when this happened, Hillary Clinton was running against Obama for the Democratic nomination. Her husband Bill was trying his best to drum up support for his wife, and he actually made these racially insensitive remarks while trying to convince Ted Kennedy to endorse Hillary Clinton. This is a guy who propped himself up as a champion of America’s minorities. Both Hillary and Bill Clinton were clearly bitter about Hillary losing the Democratic nomination to Obama… And this bitterness seems to have turned into race hatred.
4. Iggy Azalea
Iggy Azalea has definitely seen her fair share of controversy. And a lot of the controversy that surrounds her is of a racial nature. She has become infamous for her racist tweets, and they don’t show any sign of stopping. There was the time she tweeted, “Just saw 5 black men get arrested outside of the popeyes. #damn #stereotypes.” And then there was the time she tweeted, “The Asian lady on the plane tried to act like she didn’t understand me I told her a** b*tch you gon’ know English today cause that’s my seat!” She also once referred to herself as a “runaway slave master” in one of her songs… And then she once posed with black rappers and captioned the photo on Facebook, “Me and my n***as.” Yeah… Many black celebrities have attacked her for casually dropping the “N” word, and “appropriating black culture.” Well, she’s not the first to do that, and she certainly won’t be the last…
Another musician who is blatantly racist, especially on social media, is Kreayshawn. Now, there is some debate as to whether the rapper was hacked or whether it was actually her tweeting this stuff, but there is no question about the racist nature of these tweets. One of these tweets read, “Sometimes I wish slavery was still goin’ on.” And another read, “I don’t need black fans anyway. Y’all don’t buy albums.” And finally, “Looks like a Popeyes opened up in my mentions. You monkeys got your taxes back already?” Later, she claimed she was hacked, and it could have been true. Rumor has it that 4chan was behind it. Ah yes, 4chan, the infamous internet hate factory. While it has all the hallmarks of 4chan, could it be that 4chan is merely a convenient scapegoat for late night drunk tweets? I guess we will never know…
2. Luis Suarez
Luis Suarez is one of the most talented players in football today, and perhaps even history. He is also one of the most controversial athletes of all time. He has bitten other players numerous times, made unsavory comments, and yes, he has even been racist. It all happened in a game between Liverpool and Manchester United. Suarez was walking by Patrice Evra when he allegedly called Evra a derogatory term for black people. It has never been fully proven that Suarez actually did this, and the British police dropped all charges against him out of lack of evidence. However the governing body of football in England, the FA, found him guilty and banned him for 8 games. If the police found him not guilty, but the Football Association did, then something doesn’t quite add up. It seems that even though there was no evidence of him being racist, the FA felt like they needed to take some kind of action, to send a message.
1. John Terry
John Terry is one of the most talented defenders in the game of football today. He also has a huge reputation as a “bad boy.” He’s been in numerous drunken brawls off the pitch. He once slept with the ex-girlfriend of a teammate. One time he even made fun of American tourists in the days following the 9/11 tragedy. But one of his worst controversies was his racist conduct towards another player. He allegedly called Anton Ferdinand a “F*cking black c*nt.” For this behavior, he was fined thousands of dollars and banned for four games. This did nothing to stop his career, however, and he is still playing today. There are many guys like this in soccer, brutal thugs who would be just as comfortable on the pitch as they would be kicking a guy’s head in an alley behind a bar. Still, he’s an amazing defender, and that’s what counts.
