Sam Asghari fuelled speculation that he’s engaged to his long-time girlfriend Britney Spears after an image of an engagement ring was posted from his Instagram account. However, shortly after the photo was uploaded, Sam claimed his account has been hacked.

According to TMZ, Sam shared a photo of a diamond ring to his Instagram story last Friday. The ring featured the inscription “lioness” in the band. However, the post was quickly deleted and follow-up with a statement from Sam claimed his account had been hacked.

“Account got hacked and was photoshopped – calm down everyone!” he wrote in the post shared to his Instagram Story.

However, this isn’t the first time Sam has sparked engagement speculation this month. Last week, we reported that he was spotted looking at jewellery at a Cartier in Beverley Hills. Sam was seen picking up a ring to take a closer look, but it’s unclear if he was perusing engagement rings.

Sam and Britney have been together for over four years. They originally met in 2016 when Britney hand-picked Sam to star in the music video for her hit “Slumber Party.”

Speaking to Forbes earlier this year, Sam admitted he almost didn’t accept the role in Britney’s video, as he was trying to steer clear of music videos. He said that a friend encouraged him to take the opportunity, and in retrospect, Sam admits he’s grateful he participated in the project.

During the same interview, Sam opened up about his desire to settle down. The 27-year-old said he’s ready to take his relationship “to the next step,” adding that he’s always envisioned himself as a “young dad.” But Sam added he’s also focused on furthering his acting career.

Britney has also been vocal about her desire to marry, but her conservatorship may not allow her. In June, the singer made a passionate testimony in where she said she wants to break free to her “abusive conservatorship.”

She emphasized her inability to control decisions in her personal life, including whether she can get married and have her IUD removed in order to have more children.

“This so-called team won't let me go to the doctor to take it out, because they don't want me to have children, any more children,” she said at the time.

According to recent reports, Britney’s father Jamie Spears has agreed to step down from the conservatorship, which has been in place for over a decade. He filed to end the conservatorship earlier this month after much backlash. However, as E! News notes, it’s up to a judge to terminate his control over her person and estate.
