Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn have decided to end their decade long hatred. The two aging rock stars have been at loggerheads for many years now. The front man of Blur and the former member of the popular rock band Oasis came together for a charity concert to raise funds for teens suffering from cancer.
Noel and Damon performed the song “Tender”. It is among the biggest hits of Blur in recent times. The rivalry between the two musicians was so intense once that the entire country was divided into southerners and northerners. The southerners favored Blur, because it hailed from the south. Oasis had the backing of people from the north. “Roll with It” was released by Oasis in 1995, while Blur released “Country House” in the same year. Both of them were huge hits. This only intensified the rivalry and made things worse between the two bands. Rock music lovers were torn between the two.
Blur will be playing an active part in the Arts and Music Festival in Coachella this year. According to reports, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone Roses and Phoenix will also be there at the festival.
Those who love Blur can see their favorite band members in action at the festival. Around this time last year, Albarn had announced that he wouldn’t be with Blur any longer. He also announced that he was parting ways with Gorillaz too, the other band he plays with.
Liam Gallagher, Noel’s brother, and right now his enemy, however says that he is not impressed with Noel and Damon getting together. He says that there cannot be anything worse than drinking champagne with a war criminal. These are strong words indeed. We wonder if Noel is going to react to this. Noel seems very serious about making a good impact.
