When two celebrities become a couple the media tends to flock around them, analyzing their every move for signs of what is to come. So when a celebrity couple manages to date without the watchful eye of the media finding out, they are either masters of disguise, they dated just as they were becoming famous, or their relationship did not last long enough for the media to notice their relationship. Many times, the celebrity relationships that go unnoticed are so odd that no one would assume that they would be connected. The celebrities may vary in age, looks, personality, or a combination of the three. No matter what makes the couple different or how long their relationship lasts, there will eventually be some evidence of their romance that comes out. And when the evidence does arise, fans will scratch their heads and wonder how the unlikely pair was brought together and just what tore them apart. Here are 10 Celebrity Couples that You Never Knew Dated.
10. Lance Armstrong and Ashley Olsen
Ashley Olsen is best known as one of the two adorable twins on the hit TV show Full House. Lance Armstrong is a former cycling champion whose celebrity was recently tarnished by his use of performance enhancing drugs. So what could have brought this unlikely pair together in 2007? It certainly was not their age; Armstrong was 36 and Olsen was 21. Armstrong was also just ending a relationship with Tory Burch and had split with Sheryl Crow just two years prior. Whatever the reason for the match up, the two were spotted kissing at the bar of the New York hotel several times and they were seen several other times together. Each time they were very flirtatious and obviously enjoying each other’s company. Unfortunately the couple only lasted a few months. A recent book entitled, Cycle of Lies, suggests that Armstrong was forced to end the relationship to keep up his image. Whatever the reason for their split, Ashley Olsen moved on and began dating Justin Bartha while Armstrong began dating Kate Hudson.
9. Kristen Bell and Matthew Morrison
Matthew Morrison is the hunky Hollywood heartthrob from the hit TV show Glee. Kristen Bell is the beautiful star of Veronica Mars and the voice behind Anna of the Oscar winning movie Frozen. But before these two broke into acting, they both attended NYU. During their time in college they were briefly involved with each other. When asked about her relationship with Matthew Morrison, Kristen Bell said, “We actually dated very briefly, so I’ll have to say maybe Matt Morrison is my favorite part of Glee for various reasons.” The two have moved on to other relationships. Kristen Bell is now married to Dax Shepard, an actor on the TV show Parenthood. Matthew Morrison is engaged to Renee Puente.

Sandra Bullock is best known for her work in a variety of romantic comedies as well as her recent split with Jesse James. But long before she married the biker she had a one year relationship with Ryan Gosling. The pair met in 2002 while filming Murder by Numbers. At 16 years her junior, Gosling was at the start of his acting career and was not yet the ultra-hot Hollywood A-Lister he is today. Though the couple parted ways after just one year of dating, Ryan Gosling still credits Bullock as one of “the greatest girlfriends of all time.” Gosling went on to date Rachel McAdams, Olivia Wilde, and Eva Mendes. Sandra Bullock dated Matthew McConaughey and Troy Aikman.

Long before Ashton Kutcher famously married Demi Moore, he landed his role as Michael Kelso on That 70’s Show. It was at that time that Kutcher began dating January Jones, who at the time was an Abercrombie and Fitch model. The pair seemed to be doing well until their relationship ended three years later in 2001. Nearly ten years later, January Jones finally saw her acting aspirations come true when she scored a leading role on the TV show Mad Men. According to an interview Jones did with GQ, Kutcher’s lack of support for her acting career was what led to their eventual split. It was also what propelled her to follow her dreams of acting. Both celebrities have moved on with their romantic and family lives. Ashton Kutcher is engaged to Mila Kunis while January Jones has dated men such as Josh Groban and has given birth to a son.

Sheryl Crow moved on to a relationship, which eventually led to an engagement, with Lance Armstrong. Owen Wilson dated Kate Hudson and is currently with Jade Duell.

Though neither Cher nor Cruise ever publicly discussed their relationship when they were together, Cher spoke about Tom in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2008.
