Although the murder of Nicole Brown happened over 20 years ago, the world is completely obsessed with the trial once again, thanks to the FX series American Crime Story. The show, which was created by the incredible Ryan Murphy, is ridiculously good. Murphy, who is best known for shows like Nip Tuck, Glee, Scream Queens and American Horror Story, has done an incredible job bringing this iconic case back to life.

Although the show is about the murder case, you can’t help but be curious about everyone involved in the case, especially O.J. Simpson. O.J. is known as a lot of things, and his life has been extremely public for quite some time. However, like everyone else, there are some things about him that the world doesn’t know. The following is a list of ten things you most likely didn’t know about O.J., not the case but him as a person.

There is no denying that Simpson has lived an interesting and eventful life and whether or not you believe he committed the murder of his ex wife, there is a fascination that comes with the name O.J. Simpson, which is why we at TheRichest wanted to learn more about him.

10. His White Bronco is Worth a Lot of Money

O.J. Simpson’s police chase while he was in the backseat of his white Ford Bronco is one of the most iconic police chases in history. However, this wasn’t a crazy high-speed chase, instead Al “A.C. Cowlings” was behind the wheel cruising at a low speed while 95 million people watched live. Helicopters circled the air, as the white Bronco became the most famous car in America. The car has reportedly been sold for over $200,000, which is way, way over its worth. This chase was also probably some of Ford’s best free advertisement!

9. Helped Domino’s Break a Sales Record

Ford wasn’t the only company that benefited from the legendary police chase between O.J. Simpson and the LAPD. Domino’s pizza actually broke sales records in 1994 due to Simpson’s Bronco chase. The incident occurred around dinnertime on the West Coast and with 95 million people watching, not many people were making dinner. Domino’s is a huge company, and to this day, they have never reached the same level of sales as they did that legendary night, making Domino’s America’s number one choice for pizza.

8. He Wrote a Book Entitled “If I Did It”

In 2007, O.J.’s book If I Did It: Confessions Of The Killer was published and it had America talking. The title itself is disturbing enough, and for those of you who haven’t read it, here is a little synopsis of what it’s about.

The first parts are about his relationships with different women in his life, including Brown. Simpson goes on to write in numerous different ways how Brown was an instigator. Then the book goes on to describe what “hypothetically” happened that night if O.J. had killed her. He also describes his conversations with police, the Bronco chase and the aftermath of the murders.

A must read for anyone who is interested in this controversial case.

7. He is Now in Jail

OJ Simpson

Yes, O.J. Simpson is currently facing a 33-year sentence for a case completely unrelated to the murder of Nicole Brown. In 2008, Simpson was found guilty in a robbery and kidnapping case in Nevada. According to court documents, Simpson apparently broke into a Vegas hotel room that belonged to sports memorabilia dealer Bruce Fromong with a group of men. He was sentenced 13 years to the day after being acquitted for murder. He is presently serving his sentence at Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada. Simpson is eligible for parole in October 2017

6. He Was Married Before Nicole

When you hear O.J. Simpson’s ex-wife, everyone naturally automatically thinks of Nicole Brown, his dead ex-wife. However, not many people realize that O.J. Simpson was married before Nicole Brown. From 1967-1979 Simpson was married to Marguerite Whitley. Whitley and Simpson met in high school when she started dating A.C. Cowlings (yes, the one who drove the Bronco). Although A.C. was mad when O.J. stole his girl, the three found a way of remaining friends. Simpson was 19 when he got married and his wife was only a year younger than him. Together they have three children. In 1977, Simpson met Nicole. Simpson reportedly claimed that he was unfaithful to Whitley, resulting in their divorce.

5. He Was a Child of Divorce

Not only has Simpson been divorced twice, he is also the child of divorce. In 1952, when O.J. was five years old, his parents separated. His mother, in the Potrero Hill district of San Francisco, raised Simpson, his brother and his two sisters. O.J. did not have the easiest childhood, but he was always a talented kid, which he used to benefit himself. The star athlete always had a bright future, even when he was just a “street kid”. His story was truly one of rags to riches, before his name was sullied with the murder of his ex-wife.

4. He Was in a Gang

O.J. Simpson apparently was involved in crimes from a young age. When he was only thirteen years old, he joined a gang called Persian War. Growing up the way O.J. did, in the era he did, it was common for the “poor” to resort to gang activity. In 1962, Simpson pulled a stunt that actually landed him at the San Francisco Youth Guidance Center for over a week. It is no secret that O.J. has had an interesting and public life, however his youth and his gang activity are something not many people know about.

3. He Played a Man Framed for Murder

After hanging up his football jersey in 1979, O.J. moved on to a career as a sportscaster, which led him to a career in acting. Simpson had dabbled in acting even when he was a working athlete. He played a notable role as a man framed for murder by the police in the film The Klansman (1974), which is quite ironic. Simpson also appeared in films like The Naked Gun in 1988 and its sequels. In these films he played an assistant detective. Simpson loves the camera, and his numerous jobs in front of it are proof of that.

2. He Could Possibly Be Khloe Kardashian’s Father

There is a lot of gossip surrounding Khloe Kardashian and who her biological father is. Although she grew up as Robert Kardashian’s daughter, there is no denying a lack of family resemblance with the other members of the Kardashian family. Rumor is that Kris Jenner and O.J. Simpson had an affair. It is no secret that the Kardashian family was very close to both O.J. and Nicole, which is why this theory is not so far off. Khloe, who looks and is built differently from the rest of her family, could possibly be O.J.’s daughter. The Kardashian family denies all allegations, but there is a big possibility it is true.

1. He is Pigeon Toed

O.J. SIMPSON

The most random and one of the least known facts about O.J. is that he in pigeon-toed. When O.J. Simpson was only two years of age, he contracted rickets. Rickets, which is the softening and weakening of children’s bones, usually occurs when there is a deficiency of vitamin D. Not only did he contract the disease but he had a very bad case of it. This disease left him both pigeon-toed and bow-legged. This is probably the last thing anyone knows about Mr. Simpson and it is something he has been living with since the age of two. Pretty impressive that after such a traumatic bone disease, he went off to be professional athlete!
