Serial Killers are probably the most despised people on earth, and justifiably so. Yet many of us have a fascination with serial killers. We might not admit that we do of course, if we did people might think it is odd that we read about them, that we wanted to know more about what they did and how their minds work. But still, you have to know, how could someone do that? How could someone kill, not just once but over and over again, and do it in such horrific ways?

10. “Even When She Was dead, She Was Still B*tching At Me. I Couldn’t Get Her To Shut Up.” – Ed Kemper
Ed Kemper was a really odd guy. He was known as the Co-Ed Killer because of his propensity to kill young women, but he didn’t discriminate as he also killed numerous members of his family. As if being a serial killer and necrophiliac wasn’t scary enough, Kemper is also huge, weighing in at 300 pounds and standing 6 feet 9 inches tall. His first kill came at 15 when he murdered his grandparents. After that, he was institutionalized in a psychiatric hospital until he was considered rehabilitated and released. Big mistake. After his release, he killed and dismembered six female hitchhikers, then killed his mother and her friend before turning himself in two days later. He is now serving out the remainder of his in prison.
9. “I Like Children. They Are Tasty.” – Albert Fish
Albert Fish was a pervert, first, and a murderer, second. He confessed to three murders, and may have been responsible for a few more, but his real passion was messing around with kids. He was thought to have molested hundreds of children. He also spent a lot of time molesting himself. After his arrest for the kidnapping and murder of 10-year-old Grace Budd, x-rays revealed that Fish had at least 29 needles in his genital region. After his execution, his lawyer revealed that he was in possession of his client’s “final statement.” When asked by reporters to reveal the document’s contents, the lawyer said, “I will never show it to anyone. It was the most filthy string of obscenities that I have ever read.”
8. “What I Did Was Not For Sexual Pleasure. Rather, It Brought Me Some Peace Of Mind.” – Andrei Chikatilo
Even when judged against other serial killers, Chikatilo, also known as the Butcher of Rostov, is a particularly nasty piece of work. This former teacher from the Soviet Union murdered, sexually assaulted and mutilated (not necessarily in that order) at least 52 women and children . He also was a bit of a cannibal. In fact, there wasn’t much of anything perverted that he wasn’t into. He abducted most of his victims, terrorizing the area where he lived for years, but eventually Chikatilo was arrested and later executed.
7. “The Refrigerator Broke And The Meat Spoiled.” – Jeffrey Dahmer
Jeffrey Dahmer didn’t like to be alone. In fact, he didn’t want to be alone so much that he would drug men that he met at bars, and do experiments on them to try and make them his zombie slaves. When that didn’t work, he would kill them, then dismember them. He would still be a bit lonely after these acts so he kept their body parts around his apartment. He killed 17 people from 1978 to 1991. The above quote is what he said to the police when he was arrested to explain why his apartment smelled so badly. He was killed in prison by another inmate.
6. “I Have A Collection Of Shrunken Heads.” – Ed Gein
Gein wasn’t as prolific a killer as the other people on this list, but man was he weird. Like really weird. He only killed two women, but he was so creepy that he liked digging up corpses. Some of the things found when the police searched his home were a waste basket made of human skin, skulls on his bedposts, a belt made from human nipples and four noses. Umm…gross. Gein was convicted of just one murder and died in a mental health institution.
5. “Murder Is Not About Lust And It’s Not About Violence. It’s About Possession.” – Ted Bundy
Ted Bundy was such a charmer. So charming in fact that many woman must have been quite surprised when he killed them. He confessed to 30 murders but the real number was probably quite a bit higher. Bundy would approach women in public places, often pretending he was having issues with his car while faking an injury, and ask a woman for help with something. Then, he would abduct and rape the woman and murder her. He got away with it for a long time. It was just so hard to believe that Bundy, with his law school education and professional manner would do such horrific things. Once caught, he escaped twice before he was finally convicted. Bundy was executed.
4. “I Didn’t Want To Hurt Them. I Only Wanted To Kill Them.” – David Berkowitz
If some of the killers on this list were evil and others weird, Berkowitz was known for being just plain crazy. Berkowitz was known as the “Son of Sam” because it was the name he game himself when he wrote many letters to the media and police. He shot and killed six people in New York City and wounded quite a few more in the process. None of these people were known to him. When he was arrested, it turns out he was calling himself “Son of Sam” because his neighbor Sam Carr’s black lab named Harvey was commanding him to kill. So basically Berkowitz killed people because the dog was telling him to kill everyone. Berkowitz is in prison. The only way he leaves is via a body bag.
3. I Don’t Believe In Man, God Nor Devil. I Hate The Whole Damned Human Race, Including Myself.” – Carl Panzram

He claims he didn’t do so because he was gay, but because he just liked to dominate and humiliate them. His death total is estimated at anywhere from five to 22 men. He murdered most of his victims by luring drunk sailors onto a boat with the promise of work, then killing them and robbing them. His kill count would be higher if we wasn’t arrested so many times, thus spending much of his life behind bars. Panzram was executed.

He was a painter of sorts and much of his artwork is now worth thousands of dollars.

He was an open Satanist who never showed even the smallest bit of remorse for his crimes. Ramirez died of natural causes in prison while awaiting execution.
