Many women change their gender to male because they are born transgender. Essentially, when you are born transgender, your gender identity doesn’t match your assigned sex. For example, you may be born a woman, but you strongly feel like a man. People afflicted with this condition are always depressed about it. They are teased as being ‘tomboys’ or ‘queer’ and many contemplate suicide. Some opt to find a solution, which primarily involves undergoing sex reassignment surgery as well as social transition.
Sex reassignment surgery, also known as a sex change, involves surgery to alter a person’s physical appearance to look like that of their identified sex. For trans men sex reassignment surgery, the construction of a penis, testosterone hormone treatment, double mastectomy, areolar reshaping and nipple grafting is usually done. It is also up to the trans man to make a decision as far as keeping their internal reproductive organs intact is concerned.
Here are 10 hot men who were originally women:
10. Ian Harvie
Born in May 28, 1968, Ian Harvey always felt that his gender expression never matched his assigned sex. He identified himself as queer, meaning he was not heterosexual or cisgender, at the age of 19 and waited until he was 32 to announce that he was transgender. The American stand-up comedian always refers to himself as a trans man during his performances since he started his career back in January 2002. He has made appearances on TV shows such as Wisecrack, Comics Unleashed, Sexing the Transman (as himself), Roadtrip Nation, and One Night Stand Up.
9. Chaz Bono
Chaz Salvatore Bono is a famous American playwright and performer and the only child born to Cher and Sonny. In 1995, the tabloids outed Chaz as a lesbian, allegations which he confirmed. In 2008, Chaz began his physical and social transition from woman to man. His publicist confirmed this later in 2009 adding that his choice of name – Chaz Salvatore Bono – was a tribute to his parents. The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation praised Bono for his decision and offered him support. A California court then allowed him to change his gender and name two years later on May 8, 2010.
8. Andreas Krieger
Andreas Krieger was born Heidi Krieger in 1966. In the 70s, Krieger competed on the women’s East German athletics but what she never knew was that her coaches were pumping anabolic steroids into her system. These drugs ‘masculinized’ her so strongly that she later chose to convert from female to male. In an interview, Andreas lamented that the coaches killed Heidi. She also added that she was thrown out of her gender, a decision she was well capable of making without of the drugs. She was part of hundreds of young athletes who were cheated that the drugs were vitamins and natural supplements in an attempt by the East German government to lead in the Olympics.
7. Buck Angel
Buck Angel was always teased as a tomboy while still a child. His family accepted his out of character behavior but that wasn’t the case at school. He became depressed when his secondary sex characteristics began appearing in his teens, which led him to constantly think about committing suicide. His parents sent him to therapy where he described himself as “feeling like a man.” Those around him thought he was crazy and thought of locking him up in a mental institution. In the coming years, he was employed as a female professional model but said that he never loved a single moment of his life as a woman.

At that point, he came out as a lesbian and lived as so until 2010 when he commenced hormone replacement therapy. He is currently the leader of Canadian rock band the Cliks and the first trans man to be signed to a major label. In an interview, Lucas affirmed his decision saying “the more I’m around [women], the more I fully realize that I am indeed a man.”

At the age of sixteen, Cameron began referring to himself both sexually and socially as a lesbian. Consequently, some of the locals leveled some homophobic hostility against him. He then quit school and ran away to find construction jobs. Cameron ended up in the San Francisco Bay Area where he continued with his lesbian orientation until he was 26. Then, he got fed up with his female body and developed a strong interest in photography. His transition from female to male then began at around this time.
