When celebrities reach the peak of their career, they may feel unstoppable and immune to any sort of backlash or consequences for their actions. Perhaps it is because they make so much money, continue to get work, and the fact that bad press is still good press. If a group gets offended by a celebrity’s actions or words, typically not much can be done about it. But if you insult members of an entire country, well, then that is another story. The celebrities on this list have found themselves in the center of controversy from disrespecting the United States of America.
If there is any country that is the most patriotic and able to come together quickly in an act of solidarity, it is Americans. So when the celebrities on this list disrespected the red, white, and blue, a considerable amount of damage control had to take place. You can’t blame Americans for sticking with their own. From troops fighting for their freedom overseas to widespread tragedy from Pearl Harbor to the September 11th attacks, insulting America at this time is perceived as being tasteless and downright mean.
