Twitter is the place to go when you need to vent or simply just say the first thing that comes to your mind. But isn’t the first rule, think before you speak? For this list, it should be think before you tweet, because we have some fantastic Twitter feuds and moments, like conspiracy theories that a celebrity believes in, an admitted drunk driver, Donald Trump calling someone out and so much more.
In 140 characters or less, celebrities (and non-celebs) can get themselves in a ridiculous amount of trouble. Not everyone is Kim Kardashian and can post a racy photo and be completely fine with the backlash and mayhem it causes. In fact, just look at her husband Kanye as an example of someone who cannot handle the heat of Twitter (and trust me, there are examples).
Celebrities think that deleting their tweets is going to make the public forget. No. way. Never. Celebrities get to be held accountable for every single character they tweet, so they should really think twice before taking to the web and typing away. In fact, many celebrities should probably think about deleting their account because at least it would prevent future embarrassing moments! This list explores all of the ridiculous celebrity tweets, the all-out wars (both funny and cringe-worthy), and just sheer insanity that seems to thrive on Twitter. Just be glad that the last time you tweeted something out that you regret, that it probably wasn’t seen by millions of people!
20. Jessica Simpson
Jessica Simpson was working out at the gym when she thought it was a good idea to tweet this message:
“Dear elderly man at the gym: its hard 4 me 2 keep composure whilst punching at chipmunk speed when ur ball sack spills out of ur wind shorts.”
Chipmunk speed? What does that even mean? This is a situation that you should embarrassingly walk away from, much less tweet about it! Jessica obviously doesn’t understand what is TMI. We probably didn’t need that information, but at least you can probably understand why it wouldn’t make for an ideal gym session.
19. Rob Kardashian
Um, Rob, excuse me? Do you even know who your sister is? The one with the whole sex-tape scandal? The sad part is there isn’t just one tweet from the Kardashian brother, there were several. They all have to do with how a woman (Rita Ora, Rob’s ex-girlfriend) manages to have a love life while maintaining a career. Of course, Rob later deleted his tweets. Probably because Kim Kardashian told him exactly how she juggles those two things in her busy life.
18. Jason Biggs
Jason Biggs, you know, the actor on Orange is the New Black that everyone kind of hates because he reminds us of mayonnaise? Well, he got into some trouble when he decided to tweet this:
“Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?”
This happened right after the Malaysian airplane, which was carrying 298 people, crashed in Ukraine. Biggs was then hit with a flurry of enraged tweets. Instead of apologizing right away, Biggs went on to twitter AGAIN to complain about the people who didn’t like his tweet. It was all in bad taste, though he later deleted all of them and apologized. Too soon, man, too soon.
17. Bow Wow
Is there anything stupider than drinking and driving? You would THINK the answer is no, it’s the stupidest thing you can do. But Bow Wow proved us all wrong because not only did he drink and drive, but he tweeted about it! The tweet read:
“I am f*ked up!! Ohhhh damn. Y i drive the lambo. Chris might have to drive after next spot.”
Chris should have been driving from the start! Bow Wow has around 3 million followers, so you can imagine everyone got to find out what an idiot he is.
16. Cee Lo Green
When critics don’t like your show, for some people the only way to respond is by attacking their masculinity. This is exactly the tactic Cee Lo decided to use, thinking it was perfectly okay to call someone gay as an insult:
“I respect your criticism, but be fair. People enjoyed last night! I’m guessing you’re gay? And my masculinity offended you? Well, f*k you!”
Hmm….I wonder if Cee Lo knows that his first statement about respect is completely negated by the end of the tweet when he says F U to critics. I don’t know dude, maybe your show really did just suck.
15. 50 Cent
This tweet by 50 cent might even be worse the Cee Lo Green’s insult. Why do celebrities even need to tweet? They are already rich and famous, but apparently money and fame isn’t everything. Look at 50 Cent’s tweet about his g-ma making him take out the trash. Because being rich makes him entitled to everything. *rolls eyes* and as you are about to find out, that isn’t even the worse of his tweets….
14. 50 Cent…Again
When you see the 2nd thing he tweeted out, you’ll understand why 50 Cent gets to make this list twice.
“I don’t want no special ed kids on my time line follow some body else #SMSaudio” followed by “yeah i just saw your picture fool you look autistic #SMSaudio RT @yung_raditz @50cent Release the album or get shot again”
Yikes. Some severe lack of insight on 50 Cent’s part, since pretty much everyone falls on the autism spectrum. He apologized later, but the damage was clearly still done to his image. 50 Cent was supposed to launch a headphone set, but it was quickly canceled due to the tweet.
13. Kanye West
Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa go at it in an epic Twitter rant war. The first series of tweet-fights began when West released an album called Waves and Khalifa didn’t approve, reasoning that “Max B is the wavy one. He created the wave.”
So in response to that, Kanye went on a huge rant. Though some instances were pretty funny, like that fact that Kanye liked his pants and used his wife’s crying emoji. There are several other tweets to this rant, but it is just simply too long to fit it all in here. Check it out, because it is kind of entertaining to see West lose it on Twitter. Good thing he seems to freak out every other day!
12. Amber Rose
In the middle of all of the West and Khalifia drama is Amber Rose, the ex-girlfriend of Kanye and mother of Khalifa’s child. Kanye didn’t stay classy when he involved Amber Rose into his beef with the Wiz. He tweeted:
“4th you let a stripper trap you”
“5th I know you mad every time you look at your child that this girl got you for 18 years”
The result of tweeting this was the hilarious response by Amber Rose which went something like
“Awwww @kanyewest are u mad I’m not around to play in ur ***hole anymore?”
Rose continued to call West out after he deleted his tweets and refuted that he was into something so kinky. The entire fiasco was perfected by Amber Rose, and we thank her.
11. Amanda Bynes
Does anyone ever wonder what happened to the cute, angel-faced, funny Amanda Bynes? Following in the footsteps of Lindsay Lohan, Bynes has gotten herself into a lot of stupid, avoidable trouble and it has cost her pretty much her entire career. To top it all off, she then she decided to create some drama on twitter involving Rihanna. Among the tweets she said:
“@rihanna you look so ugly tryin to be white”
“@rihanna Chris Brown beat you because you’re not pretty enough”
This is the sort of immature behavior you expect to see in high school, but not from adults. How can you say something so mean? and to Rihanna who is just amazing?! Thankfully Rihanna took it all with a grain of salt and responded perfectly:
“Ya see what happens when they cancel Intervention.”
Rihanna, we love you. Amanda, get it together!
10. Chris Brown
When people hear the name Chris Brown, they pretty much think about Rihanna and the fact that he hit her. While many fans have forgiven the singer and even Rihanna has as well, he decided to remind us all.
Forgiveness isn’t something that is easy to receive and after banging Rihanna around, he is lucky to still have a career at all. But, instead of learning anything and being grateful, he complains about it on Twitter. Now, Chris, you might have been forgiven but we will not, ever, forget. Can you really expect anyone to? I mean you did a crappy, low, selfish thing. Maybe it is time to grow up a little and take responsibility for your actions.
9. GQ Magazine
GQ is not technically a celebrity, but the story about One Direction fans pretty much losing their sh!t on Twitter is hilarious. The whole drama started when the British GQ mag announced they would be featuring each member of One Direction, individually, on the cover of their magazine.
But, surprisingly, fans were upset about the quotes that were used to announce the feature. So, in order to voice their displeasure, millions of teens took to Twitter to engage in full on Twitter warfare with the magazine. Thankfully, GQ had a sense of humor, especially since there were some really SCARY threats. For example one fan tweeted:
“I want to f*k* mutilate your insides, feed them to my dog and burn your body in my own personal raging hell.”
Holy. Freaking. Hell. Teenagers are insane.
8. Calvin Harris & Zayn Malik
Included in the long, long list of celebrity Twitter feuds is Calvin and Zayn. The argument begins with Taylor Swift posting a controversial comment about Spotify’s treatment of artists. Malik retweets the tweet and Harris gets mad. Harris tweets
“Stay out of things you don’t understand.”
Malik responds with “ha you just made an absolute fool of yourself mate” and “I suggest you calm your knickers before them dentures fall out.”
The fight continues back and forth, but then Harris in response to Malik says, “all good, it was the quote not you personally mate.”
Malik keeps it class by ending it with “Oh and I write my own shit too dickhead.”
Hmm, I think there was some major miscommunication between the two gents, but it makes for great entertainment.
7. Nicki Minaj and Farrah Abraham
“Farrah is a c*** to her mother.” Well Farrah was not too pleased with the tweet and responded accordingly:
“Cause your a parent right? Your videos look like p*rn. Horrible good luck being negative #godbless busy making TV.”
Minaj, trying to teach the Teen Mom star something about respect responded:
“Be happy she’s helping! Stop talking to her like that on tv u lil”…(well you can probably guess how it ends).
6. Meek Mill and Drake
Meek Mill and Drake have been known to have some beef between each other. It happened when Meek was mad that Drake dropped his album and didn’t tweet about. But it seems that Meek has other issues with the Canadian rapper. For instance, when he found out Drake had a ghostwriter, he got mad that people compared him to Drake since he apparently writes all of his own stuff.
This led to several celebrities getting involved like Rick Ross and Chris Brown. Brown posted a photo on Instagram of himself smiling with a caption that said, “Chris Brown looking at Twitter like ‘for once it ain’t me.” But Brown deleted the photo. Drakes producer, Boi-1da tweeted that Meek looks “thirsty” and should “chill.”
Lupe Fiasco then chimed in on Instagram about ghostwriting and saying it isn’t a bad thing, so sort of defending Drake.
The fight between these two probably won’t end anytime soon.
5. Taylor Swift’s Misunderstanding
While it started with Tay Tay and Nicki, you can imagine how things can escalate from there. It all begins with misunderstanding when Nicki tweets:
“If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.”
Taylor, thinking the tweet is aimed at her, responds back
“I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..”
Nicki follows up with a confused tweet:
“Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn’t say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this.”
Thankfully, the whole thing is actually pretty polite and everything between the two ladies is fine…but for some reasons a bunch of random celebs had to throw in their two cents. Like Bruno Mars randomly telling Ed Sheeran “F U.” There is more, but it does end on a sweet note with Swift tweeting:
“I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I’m sorry Nicki.”
4. Bette Midler and Ariana Grande
“You don’t have to make a whore out of yourself to get ahead” and “She does have a beautiful voice, on a couch or off.”
Gee. That is pretty brutal. Ariana handled it well saying that she had thought Milder was a feminist who “stood for women being able to do whatever the f*k they wanted without judgment!”
Midler apologized and all was forgotten.
3. Conan O’Brien
Conan O’Brien is a fantastic comedian, so you can imagine his mindset when he took to Twitter with a funny quip about Madeleine Albright.
“I picked out my Halloween costume. I’m going as Slutty Madeleine Albright.”
How entertaining, O’Brien. I bet he didn’t expect the response from Albright though:
“I’m considering going as hunky Conan O’Brien- but that might be too far fetched.”
Oh! The former secretary of state was no match for O’Brien and with a few more tweets, social media declared Albright the winner. O’Brien realized this and blasted: “Yes–my first Twitter war with a former Secretary of State! You’re next, George P. Shultz!”
Thankful, it was all in good fun, unlike pretty much every other Twitter war.
2. Tila Tequila
Tila Tequila is a famous celeb who became the most famous person on Myspace and had her own dating show, A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. How cute. What isn’t cute is her Twitter page. Specifically, her epic rant about how she believes the Earth is flat. She isn’t the only celeb to buy into this conspiracy theory, but she might be the most vocal.
Tequila continues to complain that there is ABSOLUTELY NO PROOF that the world is round. All photos from space are fake NASA CGI pictures of the Earth. She has also gone onto say “If earth was a spinning globe & the sun is supposedly 150 million light years away then how come the sunrays beam straight down?”
She also says she can hear frequency waves and that she is actually a clone who has a microchip.
1. Donald Trump and Russell Brand
Nothing is better than knowing that our potential next president got into a Twitter fight with Russell Brand. So what did Brand do? Did he mock Mr.Trump? Did he vote for Bernie? Well, all those cases are wrong. Why? Because it wasn’t Brand who started it! But then again, who hasn’t Trump offended?
Trump sent out a tweet that said: “I watched Russell Brand @rustyrockets on the @jimmyfallon show the other night – what the hell do people see in Russell–a major loser!”
Donald didn’t stop there, continuing to insult Brand and his ex-wife, Katy Perry, saying she must have been drunk when she married him. Russell Brand tweeted asking if he was drunk while he was writing the tweets. It will be interesting what he tweets if he does become president.
