We all know that Hollywood is full of stunning celebrities who naturally resemble royalty. But Disney princesses in particular are royalty of the highest caliber when it comes to their looks: they are pretty either in a demure, feminine way like Sleeping Beauty, or an exotic way like Princess Jasmine. They also all flaunt killer bodies. Yes, they are fictional and animated, but they are women who, when imagined as real-life people portrayed by hot actresses, are the exact thing fantasies are made of, in more ways than one.
The Disney princesses all share certain qualities, most of which our celebrity representatives most certainly do not. Among these qualities are showing goodwill toward all creatures, being a romantic daydreamer, beautiful singing voices, and their kindness to all. As time has passed, these qualities have become more modern and embraced issues like women’s rights and fighting for one’s dream, as opposed to the earliest princesses who embodied everything a girl was expected to be in the olden days.
All-around perfection aside, the following 14 present-day starlets at the very least bear a remarkable resemblance to these timeless princesses.
14. Vanessa Hudgens as Pocahontas
This real-life Disney star shares a natural beauty with Pocahontas, and her Bohemian style only adds to the image. The 27-year-old did not gain notoriety until she was a teenager starring in High School Musical, but Vanessa Hudgens began singing and acting at age 8 when her family moved to Los Angeles to help promote her career. She made two sequels to High School Musical, recorded a few studio albums, and appeared on several Disney Channel (and other) sitcoms. She dated her High School Musical co-star Zac Efron for five years from 2005-2010, and currently dates actor Austin Butler. Multiple times throughout the years she has been the victim of private photos that were leaked. Most recently, she dazzled as Rizzo in Grease Live!, giving a spectacular performance despite having lost her father just the night before.
13. Kerry Washington as Princess Tiana
The Scandal actress, 39, and The Princess and the Frog‘s Tiana could be twins! Kerry Washington shares many attractive features with Tiana, who is Disney’s 9th official princess and also its first one to be African American. Besides ABC’s Shonda Rhimes hit series that is currently in its fifth season, the mother of one has appeared in minor roles in several other shows. But most of her other work has been in movies such as Fantastic Four and Django: Unchained. She was named by TIME Magazine as one of the “Most Influential People in the World.”
12. Teresa Palmer as Cinderella
Aussie actress Teresa Palmer is one of many beautiful blondes in Hollywood that resemble Disney’s most iconic princess. All she would need is a blue dress and a crown to be transformed into the scullery maid-turned-royal. She previously dated Topher Grace, Russell Brand, and Scott Speedman, but is now married to Mark Webber, with whom she has one son, and one stepson. Her film success began as an extra in her hometown of Adelaide, then as the star of an independent film at 18, after which she signed with a talent agent in Sydney. Her resume includes American Films such as I Am Number Four, Point Break, Warm Bodies, and Nicholas Sparks‘ The Choice, which premiered on Valentine’s Day.
11. Deborah Ann Woll as Princess Ariel
Best known for her role as Jessica Hamby in True Blood, this red-head definitely resembles the spunky rebel sea princess, Ariel. Deborah Ann Woll is also in Netflix’s Daredevil, and has been in a few lesser-known movies, as well. Her career began with guest starring roles on various television shows before landing her breakout role in True Blood. The 31-year-old was born in Brooklyn, New York with an interest in theatre. She took acting, piano and dance classes.
10. Alexandra Daddario as Snow White
San Andreas actress Alexandra Daddario’s fair skin, piercing blue eyes, and dark hair make her the personification of Disney’s youngest princess, Snow White. The New York native, 30, has Italian, Czech, English, and Irish ancestry to thank for her regal beauty. She is also known for roles in the Percy Jackson series, Hall Pass, White Collar, and a recurring role on Parenthood. She began acting at 16 on the soap opera, All My Children. Her father is a former NYPD head of counterterrorism, and her mother is a lawyer. They raised their daughter and two other children on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
9. Isla Fisher as Anna
Isla Fisher may have just turned 40, but still the famous red-head resembles young Anna from Frozen (along with her sister Elsa, who is not considered an official princess by Disney). Her parents are not shockingly Scottish, but she was born in Oman and later moved to Scotland and Australia, which is where she began acting at the age of 9. An American agent took her on and her breakthrough performance was in Wedding Crashers. She is married to actor Sasha Baron Cohen, and together they have three children. Before marrying him, she converted to Judaism. She has four brothers who live in Greece as does their mother (her father divides his time between Germany and Nicaragua).
8. Brittany Snow as Elsa
Blonde beauty Brittany Snow is known for many movies, most recently Pitch Perfect 2, and it has been confirmed she will reprise the role once more in Pitch Perfect 3. Like the fictitious Scandinavian princess in Frozen, she has a great voice, which we witnessed when she starred in the musical-turned-movie, Hairspray. The 30-year-old began acting on the soap opera, Guiding Light, at age 12, though she started modeling when she was just 3. She has been open about her battle with eating disorders, and co-created the Love is Louder movement to fight bullying in schools. She’s been dating actor Tyler Hoechlin since 2012.
7. Jane Levy as Merida
Fiery red-haired Merida-lookalike Jane Levy is better known as Tessa of ABC Family’s sitcom Suburgatory, with Jeremy Sisto and Cheryl Hines. Her acting resume is not long, but she was in the horror remake Evil Dead, and a few other movies and TV shows. Forbes Magazine listed the California girl as one of the 30 under 30 who were “reinventing the world” (she is 26).
6. Diane Kruger as Sleeping Beauty
The German beauty’s soft features and golden hair make her the perfect Princess Aurora doppelganger. Diane Kruger is well known for several films such as Inglorious Basterds, Unknown, and the National Treasure movies. Growing up in Germany, she dreamed of becoming a ballerina, but an injury shattered that dream. So she went ahead to pursue modeling followed by acting, and fate brought her to Hollywood. She has been in a relationship with Joshua Jackson since 2006, and the two have never married because neither of them are religious. The actress and model travels between Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Paris.
5. Amanda Seyfried as Rapunzel
The resemblance between these two golden blondes is uncanny, even though one is animated. Their large eyes and facial features are nearly a perfect match, as if Amanda Seyfried was the true inspiration behind Rapunzel’s look. The Pennsylvania native began her career in soap operas, and landed her first major role in Mean Girls. Since then she has gone on to star in many films, among them Les Miserables, Gone, and Dear John with Channing Tatum. She also appeared on television in HBO’s Big Love as well as numerous smaller roles. Her love life includes Justin Long, and her Mamma Mia! co-star Dominic Cooper, but the actress is reportedly single now. Somewhat surprisingly, she has a taxidermy collection.
4. Kristin Kreuk as Mulan
This Disney lookalike has actually played a Disney princess before; she was Snow White in a 2011 adaptation of the classic fairy-tale, and Belle as the lead in the TV show Beauty and the Beast, now in its fourth season. But with her gorgeous Dutch and Chinese heritage, Kristin Kreuk could also be Mulan, who she shares more than a physical likeness with. Like the warrior princess, she is trained in karate. She got her start by starring in the Canadian teen drama series Edgemont, and later on played Lana Lang in the TV adaptation of Superman, called Smallville, for 8 seasons. She appeared in a few movies including Eurotrip, and resides in Vancouver, British Columbia.
3. Marie Avgeropoulos as Belle
This Canadian-Greek actress embodies the feminine beauty that Belle of Beauty and the Beast was named for. Best known for her role as Octavia Blake in the sci-fi series The 100 (now in its third season), some of her other films include I Love You, Beth Cooper and the Golden Globe nominated 50/50. Marie Avgeropoulos studied broadcast journalism, lived in Europe, and ultimately settled in Vancouver. It was her love of playing drums that got her discovered at an open casting call for drummers at 16, and a talent agent invited her to appear in various commercials, which then led to bigger things.
2. Mila Kunis as Esmeralda
Mila Kunis‘ enchanting facade and dark features make her the perfect real-life version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame‘s Esmeralda, who should be noted is not technically considered a princess. Mila and her family moved to Los Angeles when she was seven from her native Ukraine. Before landing her first big role in That 70’s Show, she had taken acting classes, which is where she was discovered. She has several big movies under her belt, such as Friends with Benefits, Black Swan, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. She is married to longtime friend and co-star Ashton Kutcher. They have one daughter together.
1. Priyanka Chopra as Princess Jasmine
A newcomer to the Hollywood scene, the gorgeous Indian actress has the same exotic look as Arabian Princess Jasmine from the movie Aladdin. Priyanka Chopra was Miss World in 2000, and traded her chosen path of psychiatry for acting when she began winning pageants. Eventually she became one of Bollywood’s highest-paid actresses, and in 2015 took on the lead role of Alex Parrish in ABC’s Quantico, making her the first-ever South Asian woman to headline in an American television series. A fan of Disney films, the 33-year-old lent her voice to Ishani, the main protagonist in the animated movie Planes, saying “The closest I could come to being a Disney Princess, I think, was Ishani.” Well, if she can’t be one, at least she looks like one!
