These women are hot, these women can sing, these women have WAY more metal cred than you do. Today, I’m presenting to you the hottest heavy metal and hard rock front-women. But I’m not just posting based on their looks- I’m also taking into account their musical skills and their success.
The roots of the metal genre can be traced back to the late Sixties. There are many popular groups that surged in the Sixties: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who and more. This era saw the birth of the hard rock genre with bands like Led Zeppelin. They not only made the music harder, but they had lots of social commentary built into their lyrics.
One of the first groups classified as heavy metal came to prominence in the early seventies. Black Sabbath had a sound that reminded many of the clamor of steel mills and heavy industry. They merged the blues era with the rock music of the time. They had mega guitar riffs and drum beats in their music. They stood out in the era of “flower power” with a completely different sound. It was way darker than the other music of the era.
Another band in England that was rising in the genre at the same time as their compatriots, Black Sabbath, was Deep Purple. They released “Smoke on the Water” which contains one of the most recognizable guitar riffs in music. With the rise of metal music, there also came the rise of female lead singers in hard rock and heavy metal, something that has continued to this day. So today, I present to you the hottest and baddest front-women in the genre.

They have many successful albums, and they even contributed to the soundtrack of the first Twilight. She was born in Mississippi in 1988 to a very religious family. So, who knows, they may not be happy with her career and wardrobe choices. But, she is worth $8 million, so I guess she’s good.
10. Taylor Momsen – The Pretty Reckless
Taylor Momsen is a child actress turned heavy metal badass. She first did Steak and Shake commercials when she was three years old. She got her first movie acting role at six years old. Two of her band mates died in 1982, but she kept the group going with a revolving lineup through the ’90s. She also is an animal rights activist.
6. Doro Pesch – Doro, Warlock
Doro Pesch just recently turned 50 and she keeps on rocking. She started out in the ’80s singing for the German metal band Warlock. Around the ’90s, most of the band members had left, so Pesch was forced to change the name of the band to Doro. She is known for her scream and amazing vibrato. She still looks great with her long blonde hair, and the awesome rocker chick eyeliner that she wears. It was a different glam rock/heavy metal sound when she started in the ’80s. This just goes to show that sometimes the best metal comes with age.
