True or False: Did These Celebs Die In 2016?
Most people seem to agree that 2016 was especially rough for celebrities dying and it wasn’t just in one genre of entertainment. It was a rare day when you would pick up a newspaper and not see someone from the world of movies, music, television or sports who was beloved die the day before.
Perhaps the worst story we heard from 2016 was the Carrie Fisher-Debbie Reynolds scenario. Fisher, best known as Princess Leia, had a heart attack on a flight from England to the United States. She went into the hospital, but never recovered, dying a couple of days later. Her mother, singer Debbie Reynolds, was so distraught that her daughter was ill, and then died, that she herself died the day after Fisher.
Or, take a look at George Michael. While you’ll occasionally hear his songs on the “Best of the ’80s and ’90s” channels on the radio, he was largely missing from the radio dial for a long time…except during the holidays when his group Wham! had their single “Last Christmas” played and played and played. So what happens on Christmas day? George Michaels dies. Perhaps even a bigger coincidence is that both of these examples happened within days of each other.
But let’s not fret about those who are dead completely. There are still far more talented people alive, even if we’re not always sure they’re still around. It’s time to see if you can identify which of these celebrities died in 2016 and which ones have yet to kick the bucket.
