Most Expensive Montblanc Watches

A banker, an engineer and a stationer…those were the kinds of people who collaborated to form Montblanc. Montblanc International GmbH is a German company that manufactures writing instruments, jewelries, leather goods and watches. The brand is easily identified by its white star logo.

The company started out as the Simplo Filler Pen Company that produced high-end pens in Schanzen in Hamburg. It came out with the Rouge et Noir in 1909, followed by the Montblanc the following year. Its catchy and classy-sounding name convinced the company to make use of Montblanc as its new name. In 1924, Montblanc created top of the line pens that they christened as the Meisterstuck, or Masterpiece.

In 1997, Montblanc decided to venture into the creation of timepieces. After all, they already had the experience in manufacturing and marketing luxury items. While there were some apprehensions at the start from jaded watch experts, Montblanc persisted and solidified their intentions the following years by teaming up with the Swiss manufacturer called Minerva. Minerva has been in the timepiece business since 1858 and represents one of the best in traditional Swiss watchmaking.
