Do you like speed and love cars? Then Need for Speed is the movie you need to go see. Coming out in March 2014, the story is about a garage owner, Toby Marshall (played by Aaron Paul), who builds and tunes car in a small town in upstate New York. Toby used to be a local car racer and came face to face many times with his rival Dino. Events occur that alters the life of Toby Marshall and the only thing he has on his mind is revenge.
If you desire to see stunts, and beautifully tuned cars that get driven at extreme speeds, than this is the movie for you. For the film, Need for Speed, boosted car production and had some built in less than 6 months. Those car are from the most luxurious and renowned brands such as Bugatti, Ford Mustang, and Lamborghini among others. The different designs are from all over the world also with touches from Sweden, England, Spain, Italy, and the United states.

7. 2015 Ford Mustang GT.
The mustang cars have been used in numerous movies, for example in the James Bond Goldfinger, or in I am a Legend with Will Smith. This car is called the Ford Mustang GT 2014 ½ in honor of the 64 ½, the first Mustang ever created. For the 50th anniversary of Mustang cars, Ford has decided to dedicate this particular Mustang in honor of the original. This custom-made Mustang, which is being used in the movie, has “custom bodywork including wider fenders and features like a lowered suspension and custom 22-inch wheels and tires. Even the fog lamps are new, with high-tech LED halo lamps around the air intakes” (according to a press release from Ford). This press release gives some specificity on the motor which is “a 900-horsepower all-aluminum supercharged 5.8-liter V8 modified by Ford Racing”. In the shop, the price is expected to start at $25,000 for the V-6 and $30,000 V-8.
6. GTA Spano
The GTA Spano is built in Valencia by GTA Motors and is the fastest and most powerful car built in Spain. This design is extremely elegant, yet has a balanced look that allows to also have an aggressive feel to it as well. The chassis is made of titanium, carbon fiber, and Kevlar which means it is a reliable and strong base for this incredible machine. The model has been produced in a limited quantity with only 99 of these beautiful cars ever created. The car is boosted by a V-10 twin turbo motor of 925 horse power with a seven speed transmission. The car weight around 2970 lbs, and can go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds with a maximum speed of 218 mph. The starting price for this car is $725,000.
5. Koenigsegg Aera R.
Koenigsegg is a small Swedish manufacturer that make hypercars like the Koenigsegg Aera R that has a 1140 horsepower engine. This magnificient car can go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds (0-200 mph in 14.53 seconds), and go as fast as 273 mph. The car weighs 2,933 pounds with the 1140 horsepower 5,0 Liters V-8 motor counting for 436 pounds. An interesting note is that the company have developed a bio-diesel for this car, which can also be run on regular gas. The chassis is made of carbon fiber with aluminium honeycomb and integrated fuel tanks for optimal weight distribution and safety. The transmission is also specially developed with a 7-speed dual clutch.
4. McLaren P1
The British company, McLaren showed their concept car for the first time in the Paris Motor Show back in 2012. The produced model however, was later shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013. The production is expected to be limited to no more than 375 copies of the McLaren P1. The P1 part of the name is for “1st Place” and the history of McLaren in Formula one. The chassis is made of carbon fiber, reducing the total weight of the vehicle, which is 3,075 pounds. The 3.8 liter V-8 motor equipped car is electronically blocked to stop at 217 mph. The McLaren P1 can go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and pricing for this beauty is expected to start at $1,300,000.
3. Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
Lamborghini’s final product will be out for their 50th anniversary of the brand. Their new car has their atypical design, and only twenty units will be produced. These units have also already been pre-sold regardless of their starting price of $2.2 million. The car is made mostly of carbon fiber, which is where this model gets its name come from; Sesto Elemento meaning “sixth element” in English. The car’s total weight 2 202 lbs and it has a 580 horsepower 5.2 Liters V-10 engine that can hit 60 mph in 2.5 second and go as fast as 198 mph. This car is also a permanent all wheel drive with a six-speed paddle shift.
2. Saleen S-7 Twin-Turbo
The Saleen S-7 twin-turbo is a limited edition, hand-made car. Created by Steve Saleen, a man seen by many as the best car tuner in the world, and Hidden Creek industry. Saleen has been tuning all kinds of car like the Ferrari Enzo, Porsche Carrera, and others, however this is the only car chassis he has created. The Saleen car appeared for the first time in 2000 during the Monterrey Historic Race. Since then, the manufacturer won the Manufacturers’ Champions title in GT sports car racing eight times.
It went on the market for the first time in 2002 and is one, if not the fastest, American car. The updated version of the Saleen S7 twin-turbo appeared in 2005 with a 7.0 liter V-8 twin-turbo engine with 750 horsepowers. This car goes from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and a maximum speed over 240 mph. The chassis is made of honeycomb body panels on a steel space-frame putting the car’s weight at 2,968 pounds. This car is equipped with a 6-speed manual shift. The car’s cost was originally about $585 000, however production ended back in 2009.
1. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport
This car is the fastest legal street car to be sold in the world with a maximum speed of 254 mph. The British program Top Gear elected this car the Car of the Decade (2000-2009). The car is named in honor of Pierre Veyron, a company driver and engineer, who won the 24h du Mans in 1939 while driving a Bugatti. The car goes from 0 to 255 mph (electronically limited) in less than a minute, and from 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds. The car is manufactured in Molsheim, Alsace in France by the German car manufacturer Volkswagen. The chassis is made of carbon fiber monocoque, and adds to the car’s total weight of 4,052 lbs. The price of this beauty is nothing to take lightly coming in at $2.4 million.
