The Tesla Model S, the first all-electric vehicle, emerged as the most popular car in eight of the 25 most expensive zip codes in America. The most popular cars among residents in 15 of the 25 wealthiest zip codes range from $3.4 million to $6.7 million.

Tesla Model S: $71,070
This first luxury electric ride has a starting price of $71,070. According to Edmunds.com, over 12,000 of the model were sold in the first nine months of the year.
Armed with its futuristic look, high-end design and eco-friendly features, the car is dubbed “a new toy to have.” It can run for over 200 miles with a 60 kWh battery pack featuring dual-zone climate control, seven-speaker stereo system, and a backup camera. Tesla is hinting of selling crossover SUV’s in 2014 and another $30,000 car soon.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class: $51,905
The Mercedes-Benz E-class is an executive-class vehicle and has a starting price of roughly $51,905. The ride comes with a laidback design, not much of an attention grabber. It is mostly bought as gifts to lucky teenagers and those in their early 20’s.
BMW 3 Series: $33,475
This is the most popular car among retirees in Coral Gables, Florida, having a starting price of $33,475. More than 75,000 units of this model were sold in nine months, a 15.5% increase with last year’s sales. BMW 3 Series also owns the largest share of 35% of all BMW’s sold on the first three quarters of the year.
