15 Uber Drivers Reveal The Deepest Secrets They’ve Heard In Their Car

Uber is a convenient no-nonsense way for people to pocket extra cash at their convenience with an app that matches drivers with passengers who are in need of rides and hungry customers who want food. It has been a pioneer in the sharing economy, operating in 633 cities worldwide while being headquartered in San Francisco, California. Uber drivers often use their own cars. However, there’s an option allowing drivers to rent a car to solely ride with the company.

Upfront pricing is a positive about Uber. The passenger is quoted the fare that he or she will pay before requesting the ride. In some cities, Uber doesn’t offer upfront pricing and instead calculates the price of a ride similar to a taximeter—the passenger is charged based on the time and distance of the ride. In addition, Uber offers promotional rates on rides to and from certain areas at certain times. At the end of the ride, payment is made based on the rider’s pre-selected preferences, which could be a credit or debit card or an app such as PayPal. After the ride is over, the passenger receives the opportunity to provide a gratuity to the driver, which is also billed to his or her payment method.

Uber is a great app to get a ride near you or get your side hustle on. However, the company has been the subject of protests and legal actions like the firing of 20 employees for s*xual harassment along with Travis Kalanick‘s resignation as CEO. There’s more, though. Many Uber drivers took to Reddit to reveal the deepest secrets they’ve heard in their car, but let’s take a look at 15 of those scandalous comments.

15. Girl Turns To Pole Dancing To Pay The Bills

A Reddit user posted, “Picked up a girl mid Saturday. She was a bit upset and a little teary and opened up to me. Turned out a business she had started was failing and she was in debt and had turned to stripping on the side to cover the bills. She said the pay was good but she kept getting really sick from all the booze she felt obliged to drink (part of her job was making guys spend money at the bar). She hated it and felt trapped and kept asking me what I would do in her situation (I’m a guy, so kind of hard for me to answer). Tried to give her the best advice I could think of like getting the tax office to with hold tax for a while, but couldn’t help really. Only thing I could do was end the trip early. Other one was a couple of off duty cops who didn’t want their friends to know they were using it. Uber is still in a legal grey area here.”

The girl apparently didn’t know the trick for strippers. If they don’t want to drink, they can talk to the bartender before they open up and the bartender will give them non-alcoholic drinks for the night.

14. Man Wants To Commit Suicide By Jumping Off The Golden Gate Bridge

via SFGate

Suicide is never the answer. It’s a permanent solution to a temporary problem. In this case, a passenger expressed his desires to kill himself while in an Uber ride to San Francisco.

A Reddit user recalled, “I had someone get in my car, told me he’s in his late 20s and that he’s having s*x with a girl who just recently turned 18. I awkwardly told him that’s good for him and he proceeded to tell me that it’s not, that his life sucks, and everything he does to make himself happy doesn’t work. He told me he watches vids of people committing suicide and wishes he had the courage they did to go through with it. He told me he’s going to go to San Francisco and spend every last penny he has on vacation and just jump off the golden gate bridge when he’s done. I didn’t really know what to say. When I dropped him off, I told him that I hope things start looking up and he just said, “They won’t. They never do,” and left.”

He also asked a weird question, “If I hit you would you kick my a*s?” The driver said he’d rather not hit anyone and received the response, “Dude, you’d whoop my a*s. I’m a f*cking piece of sh*t.”

13. Man Claims He Still Loves His Wife Despite Cheating On Her

via Thought Catalog

A man can cheat on his wife with another woman. It doesn’t mean he’s going to remain with the other woman. Getting drunk can lead to someone saying things he/she wouldn’t say when sober, but it’s unavoidable when you’ve had one too many drinks.

A Reddit user recounted, “I met a guy who owns a dispensary in Colorado but lives in my state. He was drunk. He told me all about cheating on his wife with his girlfriend. His girlfriend got mad when he decided to go back to his wife. So this guy apparently would bring carry-on bags filled with shatter back from Colorado. The angry girlfriend knew about this and ratted him out to the police. They were waiting for him when he got off the plane from one of his trips. He was arrested. I guess he was out on bail or something. I drove him to his apartment. He was hoping his wife would forgive him and let him move back into their house. He kept telling me how much he loved her.”

It’s unlikely that the passenger still loves his wife, but only he can determine the truth because he knows himself better than we do.

12. Two Girls Slept With The Same Guy

via Daily Mail

The thread escalated quickly when eskimo sisters—two girls who slept with the same guy—talked about their separate experiences and went as far to make an assumption based on his performance, which might’ve been unfair to the guy.

A Reddit user went into specific detail, saying, “Two girls taking about how they f*cked the same guy. Both agreed his d*ck was too big and he was hurting them by lasting too long, both concluded he was gay.”

There’s such thing as a male being too big for the females, but he can prevent his joystick from hurting a woman by being careful and making sure she’s ready. He can also use a lubricant while initiating foreplay in the bedroom. There’s also a thing called the variation of v*ginas among women. Most v*ginas will get a little deeper when aroused, but of course, it depends on the person as well as the circumstances.

11. Two Middle-Aged Couples Try Agreeing To A Foursome

Things got even more interesting when an Uber driver mentioned an erotic thing that they heard in their car. The Reddit user jotted down, “Two middle-aged couples trying to agree to a foursome.”

It’s none of our business if two or more couples want a threesome, foursome, or fivesome, but it’s certainly interesting how the alleged two middle-aged couples tried to agree to a foursome in an Uber vehicle. It’s not something that an Uber driver wants to hear, but it’s inevitable, and people can’t freeze conversations with the touch of a remote like in movies and TV shows.

Anyways, there are pros of engaging in a foursome, such as strengthening your overall relationship with your partner, and cons like increased confusion and decreased communication. If you decide to swing, you don’t have to have an organized list of the pros and cons, but you do have to communicate. It’s better to discuss it privately as opposed to in an Uber car, though.

10. Passenger Spills Beans Via Suicide Hotline

via ilbloggone.it

The suicide rates are on the rise in America. The annual age-adjusted suicide rate is 13.26 per 100,000 individuals. There are 121 suicides on an average day. Moreover, men die by suicide 3.5 times more often than women.

A Reddit user drew attention to himself when he thanked one of his Uber drivers. He put down, “Passenger here, not driver. I live in NYC and I had to call the Suicide Hotline while coming home in an Uber from work because it was only place where I could be more or less alone. I am so thankful to the driver for being patient while I was crying and saying really f*cked-up things. It was so obvious it was the last thing he wanted to deal with that night.” God bless the driver who understood the passenger’s situation.

9. Girl Confesses She Has Brain Cancer

via Daily Mail

A former Uber driver described an unforgettable conversation he had with a girl he picked up at a bar. According to the driver, she was absolutely hammered, but this story diverts because of a health issue.

The Reddit user chronicled, “She got into my car, apologized for being so drunk, and politely asked if we could just drive around a little while, with the windows down. I was prepping for a cleaning fee, trying to drive and pull a vomit bag out of the glove box, but no, she just did that airplane thing with one hand out the backseat window. She asked me if I had ever thought about dying, to which I replied, ‘yeah, I guess so.’ That’s when she told me that she had cancer. It was in her brain and it was too far gone to consider chemo. I remember my heart just pounding. She told me she was dying and she was going to be okay. Tonight she was celebrating with her work friends who threw her a going-away party. She told them she was taking a position abroad.”

The female passenger then admitted that she didn’t tell her friends that abroad meant heaven. Accordingly, the former driver turned off his app and cried all the way home.

8. Three Men Possessed Shrooms

via TruthTheory

This isn’t much of a secret, but it’s something that should’ve been hidden, which is kind of the same thing.

A Reddit user recalled, saying, “One time I had a group of 3 guys, probably around my age (mid-20s). They seemed nervous, avoided eye contact, and were pretty much silent from the moment they hopped in. I tried confirming the destination, asked how their night was going, etc., but only got muffled mumbling in return. As always, I worked the situation out in my head in a calm, rational manner. Something like, “Are these guys trying to rob me? Jack my car? Did they just kill somebody? Am I an accessory to murder? Do they have knowledge of the impending apocalypse?” But as my paranoia routine winded down, I slowly started to realize what was going on. Between the beads of sweat, occasional jaw clenching and, finally, random giggle outbursts…these kids were tripping f*cking balls. Once it hit me, I called them out immediately and told them I was cool. They looked so relieved. I started blasting music (some Umphrey’s McGee’s “I do believe”) and they just started geeking out by that point. Fun ride.”

At the end of the ride, one of the guys tossed a free bag of shrooms to the Uber driver. Things definitely got trippy, if you catch my drift.

7. Man In Purple Dinosaur Onesie Tells His Entire Life Story

Barney is a friendly purple tyrannosaurus rex who came to life through a child’s imagination on the hit children’s TV series Barney & Friends, which originated from the home video series Barney & the Backyard Gang. But what if a grown man dresses up as Barney? Well, keep on reading.

A Reddit user remembered one of his past rides. He wrote, “It wasn’t so much weird as it was random but my first night driving for Uber/Lyft I picked up a dude at 2:30 AM that was finishing up a pub crawl. The dude was dressed in a purple dinosaur onesie and was HAMMERED. He got in and started telling me his entire life story and how he came out to his parents and moved across the country the next day.”

The passenger was clearly hammered because no sober person would share their entire life story on an Uber ride, but he’s definitely a brave fella with a lot of guts to do such a thing.

6. Man Goes To Las Vegas From Los Angeles For Unforeseen Reasons

via National Express Auto Transport

This driver told others that he picked up his last ride for the day and it didn’t have a final destination so he was skeptical, but accepted the ride anyway.

A Reddit user stated, “The dude gets in the car coked out of his mind yelling on the phone. The guy says “drive to Vegas, here!” and the guy tosses $500 bucks at him. That is on top of the Uber fare which apparently was surge pricing. So the guy drives him to Vegas (from Los Angeles takes about four hours). The whole time the guy is talking/yelling on the phone to his mom. They get to Vegas and he drops the dude off at some mansion where his mom is outside waiting to yell at him. Apparently, the guy forgot about giving him the cash because he tossed another few hundred bucks at him, got out of the car, and split.”

5. Woman Explains Why Her Boyfriend Screamed Over The Phone

via Appeonline

A Reddit user looked back on one of his past rides, stating, “Picked up a girl who had to go to work across town. Her boyfriend and her were arguing in the parking lot as I was approaching. Girl gets in my car and she’s worried she’s not going to get to work on time, and she would be fired if she was late. Get about a block away and my phone rings, I answered and tried to get it off my Bluetooth stereo to no avail, the person on the other line was her bf, and he said he wanted to apologize about his gf and that I shouldn’t listen to her because she was a “crazy b*tch.” She heard all of it and didn’t say a thing (very awkward). Finally got her to work and she asks me to stay in the parking lot as she goes in and quits her job. She gets back a few minutes later and on the way home tells me that her boyfriend once broke her arm in an argument and that he was going to be very mad at her and she was worried about going back home but to take her there anyway.”

The driver ended up dropping the female passenger off and called a non-emergency number, but he had no idea if anything happened after that.

4. Two Girls Discover They’re Both Dating The Same Guy In Their UberPool

via iStock

A Reddit user drove UberPool one night in Austin, Texas, so he could pick up multiple people en route to a destination. He outlined, “First, Girl #1 gets in the car alone and sits in the back seat on the passenger side. Then, a couple (guy and girl) comes, and there’s not enough room for everyone in the back, so girl #2 sits behind the driver and guy sits up front. The two girls in the back start chatting and seem to be getting along well. Girl #1 asks what they’re doing tonight, and Girl #2 says, ‘oh, me and my boyfriend Josh are going out to celebrate. Josh works at XX and just got a promotion.’ At this point, George notices Josh is crouching down in his seat and looking guilty. Then, Girl #1 says, that’s funny, my boyfriend is also named Josh and works at XX. I wonder if they know each other. Then, Girl #2 starts tapping her boyfriend on the shoulder and bugging him to turn around to meet Girl #1. At some point, Josh can’t avoid the introduction anymore and is forced to turn around. He does so with a look of utter horror on his face, as it slowly dawns on both girls that they’re dating the same Josh.”

Consequently, both girls started screaming and kicked Josh out of the Uber. We’re pretty sure that Josh will never ride UberPool again.

3. Two Men In Their 40’s Partied With High School Students

via ChargeUp App

While it’s unclear if these two men were teachers, the behavior between high school students and 40-something guys was likely unhealthy, especially in an Uber car.

A Reddit user remembered, “Two 40-something guys who I picked up from a bar were talking on a phone (speaker) and they were trying to make plans with a third guy who was at a party with a bunch of drunk 12 graders (exact words). One guy in my car asked if there was anyone younger there, other dude said, “dude really?” followed by silence, then he said “f*cking sweet.” Not sure as there was missing context but it sounded like there were younger teenagers there already drunk and these older dudes were going to pick up.”

This is an example of a “see something, say something” situation where one should report to local authorities. We don’t know if the driver asked for help and received it, but hopefully, they at least called these men out on their immoral behavior.

2. Gay Man Admits Being One Of The Founders Of A Gaming Company

via The Odyssey Online

Video games are fun, but you want to know what’s even more fun? It’s when you meet a co-founder of a popular gaming company as you think you’re simply going to pick up another passenger and give them a ride.

A Reddit user recalled, “I picked up a guy from a gay bar and he was noticeably coming on to me. He then confessed that he was one of the founders of a very popular gaming company and offered me $2000 dollars to come up to his room. He also refused to leave my car unless I kissed his hand. Fun times.”

The user did the right thing by not being nervous and instead listened to the passenger talk about himself. While it’s unclear what he did with the money, we’re sure he was very pleased to have received a large sum of cash in exchange of temporary companionship. Sometimes, good things happen at the most unexpected times.

1. Gay Man Only Makes Out With Women In The Car

via wmj.ru

You already know that San Francisco is a city ruled by love and celebration of diversity. It’s also one of the most LGBT-friendly places in America. It practically invented gay, bisexual, and transgender. There are many types of LGBT folks, but this one stood out to the driver and will likely make your jaw drop as well.

A Reddit user wrote, “Took this 19-year-old kid and what I assumed was his gf back to her house on pride weekend in SF. They made out the whole ride. When I dropped them off, only she got out. He said, “Take me to Castro and 18th.” I said, “Really?” And he said, “Yeah, I only make out with girls when I’m rolling.” Never a dull moment in San Francisco.”

So, do the streets in the city by the bay have some sort of meaning we’re supposed to know about? Or is the man bisexual or bi-curious? We’ll never know, but this situation was just perplexing.
