Cats are not for everyone, but we have to admit, when we see an adorable kitten, we can’t help but let out a big “aww!” There are those who adore cats and those who hate them, but today we are going to focus on the celebrities that call their cats their best buds. Here is our list of 20 Celebs You Didn’t Know Are Cat People. Now we all know that Katy Perry is a purrfect lady, and that Taylor Swift puts so much importance on her cats that she enlisted a fan to cat-sit for her. But what about the other celebs on our list? We had no idea that they were as into cats as they actually are.
From an actor who seems to like those big felines the best, to a singer who had the heartbreaking reality of giving away her cat because her hubby was allergic, we have 20 celebrities her who love nothing more than curling up with their cute feline friends. There is also something endearing about a person who places so much importance on and such love into a little animal. Plus, it is so beyond hot to see a gorgeous man getting cozy with a little kitty. Swoon!
So we hope you enjoy our list and take the time to appreciate what animal therapy can do for a person.
20. Liam Hemsworth
If being a cat person is wrong then we don’t want to be right because Liam Hemsworth is one hot guy who looks even hotter when he is clutching a little kitten. We know Liam from his acting roles on the big screen, particularly in The Hunger Games film series. Well, we may not ever see him cuddling with a kitty in those movies, but Liam definitely has a sweet spot for cats. While it may be hard to imagine based on his character from the films, Gale, in real life, it seems as though Liam is just a big softie. And we would love so much to be that little kitten and just nestle in Liam’s big strong arms.
19. George Clooney
George Clooney is a gorgeous human being, even past age 50. Yeah, he would definitely make us want to date a sugar daddy. Not that he is one. Anyway, we digress. It turns out that George is a pretty sensitive guy and he likes cuddling with kitties as much as the next guy. No really, he is awfully cute when he nestles with a little kitty cat. On a side note, George once played a hilarious joke on his roommate, who had a cat. Let us just say that it involves the cat box and some feline Metamucil. George is one funny guy.
18. Whoopi Goldberg
Whoopi Goldberg already seems like a prime candidate for a crazy cat lady, and now we can rest assured knowing that that is certainly the case. Whoopi just adores little kitties and she finds them to be great companions. Hey, if we were stuck co-hosting on The View, then we would definitely want some better company as well. Of course, Whoopi has adopted a furry feline friend. She even confessed that she has conversations with her cat when she comes home after a long day at work. Confession time for us: we too speak to our cats. Anyway, Whoopi even brought a little kitten onto The View and it was just downright adorable.
17. Bradley Cooper
Bradley Cooper was seen cuddling and schmoozing with a baby tiger cub while on the set of one of his projects. It was absolutely adorable and we almost cried because it was so cute. Sure, Bradley’s golden dreadlocks were a bit scary, but it was no big deal because we were so focused on the fabulous tiger cub. Those paws! That face! We melted. The tiger cub was just 2 months old and was named Annastazia. Too cute! Perhaps Bradley has a thing for tigers? There was one in the film Hangover, remember? Hm…so we guess he prefers tigers to cougars! Hah…
16. Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber is so crazy about his cat, that the feline tweets on the singer’s Twitter feed like, all the time. The feline’s name is Tuts, and he even has his own Twitter account (Tuts the cat.) Tuts has a personality to rival that of the Biebs, and he is often showing off and proclaiming his superiority to his owner. Hey, we know that cats have attitudes sometimes. Maybe that is just what Justin needs to get himself back on the straight and narrow! Either way, plenty of humorous tweets have come from Tuts the cat! Case in point: a hilarious selfie.
15. Ian Somerhalder
You may recognize Ian Somerhalder from the hit television series Vampire Diaries. Well, it turns out that Ian is a huge cat lover in real life. Do not let that handsome exterior fool you; Ian is a big ol’ softie! He even said that pets are super important to him and they rank high on his priorities list. Of course, that can have its downsides, such as having cat hair all over the place. Yet Ian does not seem to mind it so much. Although he probably has to go through a lot of lint rollers before getting on the set of Vampire Diaries.
14. Cee Lo Green
Cee Lo Green will never say “forget you” to his beloved animals! He just loves cats, and his own feline buddy even has her own Twitter account. You can find Cee Lo’s kitty on the social network under the name Purrfect The Cat. Okay, so the name is not that original, but hey, we have to admit that Cee Lo and Purrfect look downright cute together. It turns out that Purrfect is quite the comedian as well, using cat-related puns on her Twitter account. For example: “Pawdon me for showing up late. @taylorswift, you’re looking purrfect tunaite.” Groan-worthy? Maybe. Cute? You bet.
13. Jack McBrayer
Who else would go to CatConLA then Jack McBrayer? He also has that geek-chic look going for him, so stick him in the middle of a cat convention in Los Angeles, and you have a recipe for success. It turns out that Jack is a huge cat lover. He is well known for his role on the hit show 30 Rock, but he also loves nothing more than cuddling and hanging out with his furry feline friends. Plus, at CatConLA, attendees can pick up free merchandise and other goodies from loads of pet supplies vendors. Sounds like a win-win to us!
12. Martha Stewart
Well, now that we think about it, it does kind of make sense that Martha Stewart is a crazy cat lady. I mean, she is an ageing “celebrity” and she is all about that home improvement stuff and décor. So she would probably be able to pull off owning like, a hundred cats without anyone ever realizing it. She could get rid of all of that fur in no time at all! And do not even get us started on bathing cats. She would be able to do that in her sleep. Yes, Martha Stewart, you are definitely cat lady material. Congrats!
11. Kourtney Kardashian
Believe it or not, Kourtney actually cares about something other than herself. Okay, okay, she is actually one of the more tame Kardashians, and she does have children. But what you may not know is that she also has a cat. Named Charli Kardashian. A cat with that name is sure to have some sass and attitude. But we have to admit, the little guy is so freaking adorable. Kourtney even posted a selfie of her and Charli and the result is one adorable kitty looking a bit dazed and confused. And we can’t blame him! We would love to see more Charli and less Kourtney.
10. Kristen Stewart
No offense, but Kristen Stewart seems to have an icy personality, so maybe that is why she is well-suited to be a cat lover. Sorry! Kristen is most known for her role as Bella in The Twilight Saga, but what many people may not know is that Kristen just adores her cat, Max. She actually hopes to one day be a crazy cat lady, and she is well on her way! Maybe she will accumulate more feline friends in the future, especially now that she and Robert Pattinson are on the fritz. If we look closely, it almost seems as if Kristen has cat eyes of her own!
9. James Franco
James Franco is a big teddy bear. Just look at the oh-so-cute photo of him taking a cat nap with two of his kitties. It is a photo to drool over for hours! James may be a revered actor, but he is just your average Joe, and he loves to spend time with his cats, Sammy and Zelda. Even if they do shed A LOT. James actually grew up with cats, so he is a life-long cat lover. Plus, he says that cats are a lot easier to take care of than dogs. True, true. We just will be sure not to scrutinize his clothes for stray cat fur when he hits the red carpet.
8. Lea Michele
Lea Michele is as cute as a kitten herself, so if you pair her with a cat, then things just go to a whole new level of cuteness. The singing actress, who is well-known for her role on Glee, is a huge cat person. She even credits Glee with helping her find her latest feline friend, Sheila. Lea found the cat nestled in a shrub outside of the studio where they were filming the hit television show. Lea rescued the kitty and now they are best buds. Lea even confessed her intense love for cats on Ellen Degeneres’ talk show. Now that is deep love, my friends.
7. Ricky Gervais
We may think that Ricky Gervais would be more suited to being a dog lover, but no sir. It is all about cats for him. He has his own feline friend named Ollie and she is the subject of many of Ricky’s posts on Twitter. This is a really beautiful Siamese cat, because Ricky likes to do it up good! He usually spends his time lounging around on the couch and curling up with Ollie. Can we say “aww”?! We have to admit, nothing is as cute as watching a grown man get cozy and relaxed with a cute kitty. Even if that dude is Ricky Gervais.
6. Jenna Fischer
Who is Jenna Fischer? A crazy cat lady. Well, she is also an actress and you may have spotted her on the hit sitcom The Office. She was also in Blades of Glory and Hall Pass. Anyway, Jenna loves cats a whole lot and she toted her beloved kitty Andy with her when she moved to Los Angeles from Missouri. That is a long way for a cat, but he is her Number One fan! Another heart-warming story? Jenna found two kittens stashed away on the set of The Office and she just had to adopt them. How could she not? She named them Dunder and Mifflin. Adorable!
5. Kellie Pickler
It is a double-cuteness alert! Kellie Pickler is a stunning young woman but she looks even cuter when she has her little kitty with her. Yet, there was a sad situation in which the country crooner had to make perhaps the toughest decision of her life: her hubby or her cat. The reason? Her husband is allergic to felines, and it was a pretty bad condition, too. So Kellie had to give up her cat and send him off to another family. Even so, the singer (and American Idol contestant) uses her love of kitties to help out with the ASPCA. And Kellie is also totally okay with being a cat lover.
4. Russell Brand
If there was ever one thing that Katy Perry and Russell Brand had in common, it was their love of cats. Maybe that was the only thing they had in common. The two celebs broke up, but they are both still crazy in love – with their kitties. Russell has his own little feline friend named Morissey (yes, he is named after the famous singer.) Actually, Russell is friends with both the feline Morissey and the real-life person Morissey, and sometimes he seems to get them confused. Like, he will talk to the cat about the person or the person about the cat. It just gets downright dizzying!
3. Christina Applegate
It turns out that Christina Applegate is one big fan of cats. You may even say that she is a cat lady herself. Well, we can kind of see that, because if we go back to the 2010 film Cats & Dogs, we see that Christina did voice work for the role of a cat. She also disclosed that her own cat at home speaks to her. Um…this is definitely delving into crazy cat-lady territory here. Christina said that she will have full in-depth conversations with her cat. Hm, she may have been method acting for Cats & Dogs and just taken it a bit too far. It’s okay, Christina. We are sure that you will still get acting work.
2. Jesse Eisenberg
We know of Jesse Eisenberg from the movie The Social Network. But what we may not know is that Jesse is a huge cat lover! He also supports and stands up for animal rights and even acts as a foster parent to little kitties that need a home. He actually said that there may be a direct correlation between his work and his fostering. Something about feeling guilty about being away from them perhaps? So then why does he keep adopting and fostering more? For a nerdy celeb Jesse, you sure aren’t making much sense. Oh well, we still love you (and your cats!)
1. Christopher Walken
Christopher Walken has a whole lot of respect for our feline friends. He has called them “fearless” creatures – which they are! I mean, who else would we turn to in order to kill the vermin that creep into our homes? Cats are not afraid of anything. Expect maybe the vacuum cleaner. And strangers. But anyway, Walken contributed to the K.I.S.S. Guide to Cat Care and even wrote up something for his cat when it died. Of course, he got a new cat and named it Bowtie. Walken also has an affinity for a cat’s purring. We know the feeling. There is something so soothing about the warm, purring body of a cat.
