2014 must just be the year of the luxury hotel. Across the globe a slate of elite hotels are in development and set to open in 2014. As the global economy strongly rebounds from the global financial crisis, people are traveling en masse once again. At the top end of the market wealthy travelers are demanding luxury accommodation like never before. The hotels below are seeking to meet that demand by offering the best that high end accommodation has to offer. These hotels and resorts feature finely appointed rooms and suites, spacious ballrooms and conference centers, multiple pools, holistic and beauty treatment spas, golf courses, and much more besides. If you are looking for an exceptional vacation experience in 2014, then you might want to sample some of these hotels. Here are the top ten elite hotels set to open in 2014.

10. Park Hyatt Vienna

This new 143 room luxury hotel will be located in the exclusive Innere Stadt district. The hotel will occupy a one hundred year old building that before was the headquarters for Bank Austria Creditanstalt. The area features one of the most prestigious shopping districts in Vienna and is home to world famous fashion designers and boutiques. It is also within easy walking distance of the Vienna opera house, as well as many other famous monuments and museums. Among the 143 rooms will be 35 luxury suites to meet the needs of even the most discerning guests. The Park Hyatt is just one of a series of luxury five star hotels that are being developed in Vienna in response to booming demand for high end accommodation. According to the Vienna Tourism Board bed count in the city will rise to 62,300 in 2013 and will be at 63,500 by 2014. The city is also seeing a move away from smaller family owner properties to internationally recognized luxury hotel brands.

At the Four Seasons Resort Orlando vacationers can enjoy the best that luxury accommodation has to offer. The resort is designed so that guests can partake in the kinds of activities that they like to do. Adults can partake in a massage at the spa or drink cocktails in the adults only pool. For children there are water slides, activity centers and climbing walls. The resort will also feature a championship golf course designed by Tom Fazio. The four season site is being developed at an estimated cost of $360 million in partnership with the New York development company Silverstein Properties Inc.

Located in Lausanne, Switzerland the Royal Savoy was first built in 1906 and has a storied reputation. Next year it will be transformed in an elite five star hotel. As part of the new development a new wing will be added to the Royal Savoy. The new hotel will feature 196 first class rooms and suites. It will also include a terrace restaurant, a finely fitted out lobby lounge, a cigar lounge, a spa and business facilities. The newly developed spa at the Royal Savoy will measure 1,500 square meters and include 8 treatment rooms and two private spas.

The St Regis Cairo will be located in the center of Egypt’s largest city. From the hotel guests will be able to enjoy fantastic views of the Nile River. They will also be able to partake of the nearby high end shopping district and restaurants. In total there will be 292 rooms in the hotel as well 63 luxury suites. The St Regis will also offer 99 service guest apartments for longer term guests. The project which is being developed by Qatar Project Management is being estimated at $580 million to build.

10 Trinity Square is one of the most famous buildings in the City of London. In 2014 this landmark building was be turned into a luxury hotel. The building that will house the new Trinity Square hotel was built in 1922 and was originally designed to be the headquarters of the Port of London authority. The developers of Trinity Square have worked hard to retain as much of its original character as possible as it is being transformed into a luxury hotel. In the process an office blocks that was added during the 1970s will be removed and the original glass rotunda that was destroyed during World War II will be restored. The elite hotel will likely be in high demand as it can boast some of the best views in the City of London including the Tower of London and the River Thames.

This new elite 380 room hotel will be located at the south end of the Jakarta’s busy central business district. The location is also home to one of hte the city’s most prestigious shopping centers which brings in over one million people each month. In addition to the 380 guest rooms there will also be 108 longer stay serviced suites available. Some of the other standout features of this luxury hotel include a 1,200 square meter ballroom and a 3,500 square meter function space.

4. Ritz Carlton Tunis

The latest addition to the Ritz Carlton luxury hotel portfolio will be in Tunisia. This is the first time that the hotel group has developed a hotel in this country. The new hotel will include 129 rooms and suites and will be located in the upmarket Carthage-Sidi Bou Said suburb of Tunis the nations capital. The hotel will include a massive ballroom, a luxury spa and seven eating establishment. The Ritz Carlton Tunis will be prominently located next to the Presidential Palace and directly on the beachfront. The development is in part due to growing tourism numbers in Tunisia. According to figures recently released at the UNWTO Commission For Africa, tourism arrivals in the country increased by 33% in 2012.

Interestingly this building was originally designed to be a luxury hotel when it was developed in the 1970’s. Instead it become Sea Containers House. However, in 2014 the building will live up to its original purposes when it opens at the elite Mondrian London hotel. This luxury hotel is will own by the New York based Morgan Hotel Group. They are also the team behind elite properties such as St Martin’s Lane and Sanderson. The design of the new hotel will resemble a 1920’s cruise line with massive copper covered walls. The hotel will also feature two riverside restaurants, a rooftop bar and a breakfast bar. The top of the building will include an Art Deco style ballroom to go with the 1920’s theme. The event space will measure over 5,000 square feet and be able to accommodate 325 guests at a time.

In 2009 the Four Season group was forced to leave the Dubai market in response to the global financial crisis. However in 2014 they will be returning with a new elite hotel at Jumeirah Beach. The new luxury hotel will feature 237 rooms and will employ more than 500 people. Room rates at the luxury hotel will start at US$60 and go up to $700 a night. But the developers believe that they may be able to command even higher room rates due to the hotels premium beachfront location.

The latest addition to Mallorca’s luxury hotel line up is the Kameha Bay Portals. The hotel is being developed by the Lifestyle Hospitality & Entertainment Group. The hotel will be located in one of the best locations in Mallorca, close by to the upmarket marina of Puerto Portals. The new hotel will feature 65 luxury rooms and suites, as well as massive spa offering the latest in holistic and beauty treatments. The hotel will be adorned with lush gardens and terraces. Guests will also be able to enjoy the beach club with its own espresso bar and private dressing rooms. Tourism in Mallorca has been thriving for the last couple of years. According to the Spanish National Authority (AENA) over 22.7 million tourists arrived through Palma Airport which is an increase of 7.6% since 2010. The relatively tight supply of accommodation on the island means that the Kameha Bay Portals should have few problems charging premium room rates for this elite hotel.
