When a person becomes famous, it can get pretty difficult to find true, genuine love. Fame, money and a celebrity status can alter the intentions of a potential significant other. In other words, it’s only logical that the rich and famous fall in love with their equally rich and famous counterparts –most of the time, anyway. But some of the world’s most famous musicians, popular sports figures and Hollywood actors found love the old fashioned way, way back when, they were just wide-eyed teens. These rare celebrities found ‘the one’ sitting next to them in third period, at a teenage party or in the halls of their high schools. For many, the love has lasted well beyond graduation and for some, well, it’s faded. But either way, it’s pretty amazing. Here are 11 famous figures who you might not have known married their high school sweethearts.
11. Robin Thicke and Paula Patton
Though this couple sadly announced their divorce in February of this year, the two actually met long before Thicke was a household name. The couple met as teens back in 1993, when Thicke was just 14 and Patton 15, at an under-21 night club in Los Angeles. Apparently, Thicke had asked his future wife to dance and, appropriately, he sang to her while they did. They started dating at 16, continuing throughout high school and college, and married 10 years later in 2005. The Hollywood actress and singer couple had their first child in 2010 but unfortunately, that didn’t stop these high school sweethearts from splitting.

She then followed him to the University of Winsconsin in Madison when Wilson was transferred, having gotten engaged just months before. Meem continued to be by his side as he got drafted in the NFL. They married in January 2012 but just two years later, the high school loves announced their split. A Super Bowl win must change a few things.
9. Snoop Dogg Lion and Shante Broadus
The all-star rapper met his wife, Shante at Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, California where they started dating. They married in 1997, after two of their three children were born. 1. Ron Howard and Cheryl Alley
Like everyone else on this list, Ron Howard met his one true love as a teenager. Things shouldn’t have have worked out for the two, but they did. According to a spring 2005 issue of In Style Weddings, “While a junior at John Burroughs High School in Burbank, Calif., Howard started spending so much time with classmate Cheryl Alley that his parents barred him from taking her out more than twice a week. So Howard told them he’d joined the cross-country team and began jogging over to her house every morning.” Talk about persistence. The couple married in June 1975, when they were both only 22 and remain high school sweethearts to this day.
