10 Sexy Celebs That Are Much Smarter Than We Think

via:www.extradresses.com

Sometimes it seems like life isn’t fair. All the so-called beautiful get all the attention, while us “normal” people languish in the background. The one hope that we have is that these beautiful people have one trait that makes us realize that not all people are perfect; just one slight flaw that brings the world back into balance. While this is the case for many, sometimes people are born that just seem to have it all.

Look at these celebrities. Not only were they blessed with great looks, but they also had enough talent (which of course can be argued) to keep them in the public eye. But on top of that, they also have brains underneath all that beauty. That’s right, even though we would love to believe that all beautiful celebrities are basically bags full of air who can’t form a complete sentence without a script, that isn’t always the case. Some are geniuses with IQs that rival some scholars, while others have racked up some impressive educational backgrounds. Then there are those with gifted musical abilities who just happen to speak multiple languages. In other words, they are the total package. Here is a look at some beautiful celebrities who just happen to be pretty darn smart.

10. Natalie Portman

Early on in her career, Natalie Portman played precocious kids who were wise beyond their years in movies such as The Professional and Beautiful Girls. Now she has moved on to playing scientists in Thor and Thor: The Dark World. How can she play these characters so convincingly? Well, that’s probably because deep down, the beautiful Black Swan actress is also pretty darn smart. Not only does Portman hold a bachelor’s degree from Harvard, she also speaks around half a dozen languages and also took a number of graduate level courses at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. So if this acting thing doesn’t work out (as if), at least she has some stuff to fall back on.

9. Dolph Lundgren

Today’s audiences might know Dolph Lundgren as one of the guys who works with Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham in The Expendables, however, to his true fans, he will always be Ivan Drago from Rocky IV. What some may find quite intriguing about the buff and handsome Lundgren is that he is really a genius underneath all those muscles. Nope, it’s true. The guy that played the live action He-Man in Masters of the Universe has an IQ of around 160, though he frequently denies it. However, because he holds degrees in chemical engineering and chemistry and was a Fulbright recipient, we tend to think that maybe Lundgren is simply being modest.

8. Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone rose to fame playing women who used their looks and body to get men to do what they want; however, those characters also used their brains in order to manipulate men (and women), which is no small feat. So how did the Basic Instinct actress pull it all off? Well, in real life, Stone is quite the smarty pants (intellectually speaking, course). The Sliver star enrolled in Edinboro University at the age of fifteen, and reportedly has an IQ of about 154. Stone is also a member of Mensa, which only takes members who are extremely smart. Just goes to show that you should never underestimate a woman simply because she is beautiful.

7. Shakira

Shakira is a singer who is known for her catchy tunes and for the fact that she is able to move her body in ways that defy explanation. However, did you know that the Latina bombshell also has an IQ of 140? Yup, you read that right. So not only is Shakira a gifted singer with looks that could melt rhinestones, but she also has a mighty fine brain. Though Mensa released a report with names and IQ’s, it is not clear if Shakira is a member of the exclusive group or not. But then again, when you are genius with an international following, being a part of Mensa probably isn’t all that important to you.

6. Cindy Crawford

Supermodel Cindy Crawford has looks that many would kill to have, but that doesn’t stop there. She’s also a super-smart underneath all that glamour. Crawford was the valedictorian of her high school (with an overall 4.0 GPA), and eventually enrolled at Northwestern University to study chemical engineering. Though she was on a full-academic scholarship and completed one semester, Crawford dropped out in order to pursue a career in modeling. Too bad all those brains couldn’t save the movie Fair Game, which co-starred William Baldwin.

5. Nicole Kidman

Normally, people don’t associate anyone that drops out of school as someone with a high IQ, although many smart people have done so and went on to have some very successful careers. Actress and Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman is one such person. At the age of sixteen, the To Die For actress dropped out of high school to pursue acting full-time. While that choice worked out well for the Australian beauty, with an IQ of 140, one can only wonder what career she would have picked had Kidman taken a different route.

4. Mira Sorvino

Mira Sorvino won an Academy Award for playing a ditzy prostitute in Mighty Aphrodite, however it takes brains to make a character like that appear funny and realistic. Like many brainy celebrities, the Romy and Michelle star went to Harvard, and even got a chance to spend a year in Beijing as an exchange student. While in China, she was able to pick up Mandarin and now speaks it fluently. She also graduated magna cum laude from Harvard and earned her degree is East Asian studies.

3. Hedy Lamarr

Hedy Lamarr is an actress who left a marriage to a Nazi arms dealer, then somehow secured a seven-year, three thousand dollar contract with MGM. She is also rumored to be the first Hollywood actress to simulate a female orgasm on screen. However, fans of cinema might be interested to know that because of an invention that Lamarr patented, we now have GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Back in 1942, Lamarr and her business partner George Antheil were given a patent for a secret communication system. They had intended it for radio-guided torpedoes, however the invention stayed in the US Navy files for years before being used for the conveniences we all have today.

2. Kesha

Here is another celeb from the “do not judge a book by its cover” label. Singer Kesha may be a genius when it comes to performing pop tunes that get stuck in your head, but she is also a literal genius. Not only does the “Tik Tok” singer have an IQ of 140, but she also scored a 1500 on her SAT’s, which was as close to perfect as you could get. Kesha had originally planned to go to college and study psychology and religion, however just before she graduated from high school, she decided to drop out and pursue a singing career.

1. Geena Davis

Academy Award winner Geena Davis is known for a wide variety of movie roles (and two short-lived TV series), including Beetlejuice, A League of Their Own and Thelma and Louise. How can she adapt to so many different types of characters? Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that this beautiful actress is also a genius who belongs to Mensa, an organization that only lets in the top two percent of intelligent people. Davis is also a skilled, Olympic level archer, a musician who plays the drums, piano and flute, and also just happens to be fluent in Swedish. We would be happy just having one of those talents.
