10. Tiffany & Co.

Tiffany & Co. is a jewelry and silverware corporation founded by Charles Lewis Tiffany and John B. Young in 1827 in New York City. The company is best known for its diamond jewelry especially its diamond engagement rings. Their flagship store in Manhattan, New York City is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street. The store is also popular for its window display, which was featured in a film starring Audrey Hepburn titled Breakfast at Tiffany’s. In addition, Tiffany produces trophies for sports events such as the Vince Lombardy Trophy for the NFL, the Major League Soccer championship trophy and the Sprint Cup trophy for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Manolo Blahnik is a high-end shoe brand named after its creator. The stiletto shoes are Blahnik’s main shoe product since the 1970's when chunky platform shoes and boots were dominating the fashion scene. The Manolo Blahnik flagship store is located at Old Church Street at Chelsea District in London, which is considered to be one of the city’s fashionable districts. Television’s most popular fashion icon and fictional character Carrie Bradshaw of Sex and the City mentions Manolo Blahnik as her favorite shoe brand.

8. Jimmy Choo

Jimmy Choo is a well-known luxury handmade women’s shoes. Its creator, Choo Yeang Keat, is a Malaysian Chinese who came into a family of shoemakers. The shoe brand came into prominence when it was featured in an eight-page article in the 1998 issue of Vogue Magazine. One of its customers was Princess Diana, which boosted the brand’s popularity. Choo and Tamara Mellon, the accessories editor of British Vogue, founded the Jimmy Choo Ltd.

7. Versace

Versace is one of the world’s leading fashion houses founded in 1978 by Gianni Versace. Aside from clothing, accessories and make-up, the brand also designs home furnishings. After Gianni Versace died in 1997, his sister Donatella Versace became the creative director of the fashion house. Prada is an Italian luxury fashion brand for men and women founded by Mario Prada in 1913. In 1984, the company began its expansion opening stores in prominent shopping districts in New York City, Paris, Florence and Madrid. Their products include ready-to-wear clothes, fashion accessories, leather goods, shoes, perfume, luggage and more. In addition, Prada began designing mobile phones for LG Electronics in 2007, which spawned the “LG Prada (KE850)”, “LG Prada II (KF900)” and “LG Prada 3.0”.

Cartier manufactures and retails exquisite jewelries and watches. It was founded by Louis-Francois Cartier in Paris, France in 1847. Gucci donates a percentage of their sales from their special collections to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), a partnership sealed by Gucci and UNICEF in 2005. Moreover, it hosts the annual “Gucci Campaign to Benefit UNICEF”, which supports children affected with HIV/AIDS from the sub-Saharan Africa by providing programs for healthcare, education, clean water and protection.

Hermes manufactures French luxury goods established by Thierry Hermes in 1837. It continues to be a family-owned and operated business specializing in ready-to-wear clothing, leather, lifestyle accessories and perfumes. For 28 years, Jean-Louis Robert Guillame Frederic Dumas-Hermes was the head of the firm until he retired in January 2006. He died in 2010 and his son, Pierre Alexis Dumas became the artistic director.
