Get ready to feel old, guys – everyone’s favourite alcohol-soaked reality show Jersey Shore premiered on MTV a little less than 7 years ago. That’s right – it’s been over half a decade since you first saw the wild crew moving into a house on the shore and getting ready to gym, tan, laundry, and, of course, party.
It was the kind of show that everyone claimed to hate, but found themselves watching all the time. Sure, they made stupid decisions, but there was something charming about the party-monsters – how else can you explain why people tuned in for season after season to see them trying out jobs, going abroad, and most importantly, fist pumping.
However, with the last episode airing in 2012, it begs the question – where on earth are the Jersey Shore crew now, and what are they doing with their lives? Are they still partying their faces off? Have they moved on to become respectable adults with serious careers? Are they still friends? Who has succeeded post-show and who peaked during their five minutes of reality television fame? Well, we’re going to tell you all about it.
10. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi
Snooki quickly emerged as one of the breakout stars of the show, and she’s probably one of the only cast members who is still fairly consistently in the media – people still love her. Based on the person who appeared on the shows, you might assume that Snooki is still partying it up on the regular, but you’d be wrong – she’s now a wife and mother of two! Snooki married Jionni LaValle, who she started dating towards the end of the show, and the couple had two children. She stepped back into the reality show ring with her BFF on the show Snooki & JWoww, then appeared on Dancing With The Stars. She’s also written several books, including a recent memoir, has a clothing store called The Snooki Shop, runs a weekly podcast called Naturally Nicole, and will apparently be teaming up with JWoww once more for a YouTube series called, fittingly, Moms With Attitude. Oh, and she dropped all that party weight to become one sexy mama.
9. Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino
He appeared on Dancing With The Stars and Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, he was in a PETA advertisement, he got endorsement deals with alcohol brands and sportswear brands, he released a rap song… Sorrentino is all over the place. Everyone kind of figured that things would eventually go wrong for The Situation, but they didn’t quite know how wrong. After the final season wrapped, Sorrentino headed straight for rehab to deal with a prescription medication problem. In 2014, he was arrested at a tanning salon for assault, and was later charged with tax fraud. He’s remained under the radar for awhile, so we’re hoping that he’s putting together some new business ventures and trying to get back on top.
8. Jenni “JWOWW” Farley
Though she absolutely loved to party, JWoww wasn’t one of the cast members who frequently hooked up with randoms – that’s because she had a long-time boyfriend, Roger, who was frequently mentioned on the show. Well, he eventually put a ring on it and they got married! They have a daughter together and another baby on the way. JWoww remains closest with her Jersey Shore BFF Snooki, who she moved in with for the short-lived reality show Snooki & JWoww, and by the sound of it, will reunite with her for a YouTube series focused on the two sassy moms.
7. Angelina Pivarnick
Let’s be real – of all the cast members, Angelina is probably the one that everyone hated the most. I mean, she got evicted in season one and forced to leave in season two – on a show where everyone’s job was to basically work a few hours a day and party, tan, work out and relax the remainder of it. Since then, she’s tried desperately to hold onto fame, appearing on Couples Therapy and releasing a cringe-worthy song called “I’m Hot.” She tried her hand at wrestling, tried to fund her own show with a Kickstarter campaign, and started Twitter wars. Rumor has it she eventually enrolled in EMT school, so perhaps she’s finally giving up on her fame dream.
6. Jionni LaValle
When Jionni LaValle – or, should we say Bernard? – came onto the scene in season three of Jersey Shore, no one ever thought he’d be the one to tame Snooki. After all, he was just another Jersey boy, what made him different from the rest? However, against the odds, the two have stayed together and now have two children. Jionni seems to be figuring out his path in life, and has started a clothing line with a few friends called NJ Fatman, studied to be a teacher, and worked as a youth wrestling coach. We have a feeling that if his successful wife continues to work her media career, perhaps he’ll end up being a stay at home dad.
5. Deena Cortese
The lesser of the two meatballs, Deena Cortese wasn’t there in the original season, so she doesn’t quite have the same star power as some of the original cast members do. However, she definitely wanted to keep her five minutes of fame going – when it became evident that she’d never score a prime gig on another reality show, she enrolled in Couples Therapy like her fellow cast member Angelina. On the whole, Cortese has pretty much disappeared from the public eye since her Shore days.
4. Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola
Ah, Sammi – the sweetest girl with the absolute worst taste in men. While her fellow female cast members were having fun, Sammi spent a huge portion of her time on the show fighting with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Ronnie. The two dated for quite awhile, and finally split in 2014. She’s kept a very low profile since the show wrapped, making only small guest appearances on shows like Project Runway and Makeover Manor. She has a clothing line, Sweetheart Styles, and recently started a podcast called Just Sayin’ with Clare Galterio and Siggy Flicker, but is overall just living an ordinary life since her time on the shore.
3. Vinny Guadagnino
When it comes to the personalities in the shore house, Vinny was one of the quieter ones. Sure, he knew how to party and have fun, but he wasn’t as over-the-top as The Situation, he didn’t have crazy hair like Pauly D, and he wasn’t always getting mad and hulking out like Ronnie. So, it can be easy to overlook Vinny. About a year after the show wrapped, Vinny got a spin-off with MTV called The Show With Vinny, which didn’t last very long. He then tried his hand at the podcasting world (why are so many Jersey Shore alums into podcasts?!) with his show Get Into It with Vinny G. He also wrote a book (with the help of a writer, Samantha Rose) called Control The Crazy: My Plan to Stop Stressing, Avoid Drama, and Maintain Inner Cool.
2. Ronnie Ortiz-Magro
Ronnie and Sammi were at the center of many episodes of Jersey Shore thanks to their volatile relationship, but like his former girlfriend, Ronnie has largely stayed out of the spotlight since the show wrapped. He continued to date Sammi for several years before the two finally split in 2014. Ronnie, who was perhaps the most muscular of all the men in the house, has continued his fitness lifestyle by promoting different protein powders and supplements. Hey, he might not be up to much, but it’s better to keep a low profile than to have one filled with scandal and embarrassment.
1. Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio
When he announced himself as a DJ on the show, let’s be honest – most people thought Pauly D was just full of it and didn’t know his way around a turn table. However, he’s proved them wrong – he continues to earn his money in the music industry to this day. Pauly was the first of all the cast members to get a spin-off, The Pauly D Project, which aired for one season. He went on to release a single “Beat Dat Beat (It’s Time To),” sign a record deal, open for the queen of pop herself Britney Spears on several stops during her Femme Fatale tour, and more. He’s spotted in clubs from Atlantic City to Las Vegas, laying down some beats, and has a daughter.
