Similarly to just about everyone else, celebrities can be impulsive and sometimes make odd choices, which could eventually lead to regret. Although these decisions range from a variety of things, one of the acts they often do that seems to get them the most attention is getting married in Las Vegas, Nevada. These celebrity couples chose quickie wedding chapels in “Sin City” as the setting for their nuptials.

One of the greatest love stories in Hollywood history is that of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. The couple married in January 1958, at the El Rancho Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. They remained married until Paul Newman’s death in 2008. They first met doing a play on Broadway. Paul being one of the greatest heartthrobs in Hollywood history, was always asked if he was tempted to stray from his wife and his response was, “why fool around with hamburger when you have steak at home.”

When Frank Sinatra was 50 years old, he married actress, Mia Farrow who was 21 years old at the time. Quite an age difference. The couple married at the Sands Hotel in Sinatra’s favorite city, Las Vegas. Thye were married in 1966, and divorced by 1968. The rumors were that they had a tumultuous, passionate and dramatic love affair. Sinatra was furious when Farrow’s shooting schedule for Rosemary’s Baby interfered with his film schedule for The Detective that was also supposed to star Farrow. He served her with divorce papers on the Rosemary’s Baby set, in front of cast and crew. Today it is rumored that Farrow’s son, Ronan is a result of an affair Farrow had with Sinatra years later. Mia Farrow claims she and Frank Sinatra never really broke up.

In 1967, after many years of waiting for his teenage sweetheart to grow up, Elvis Presley married the love of his life Priscilla Anne Beauliu at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. They had a small ceremony with family and close friends in one of the suites in the morning, and the reception was a nice banquet held in a room below the hotel casino. They were divorced several years later, prior to Elvis’s death. They had one daughter together, Lisa Marie Presley.

In 1991, Richard Gere married supermodel, Cindy Crawford in a ceremony, in Las Vegas. This marriage pretty much silenced the Gere gay rumors, but the couple still often found themselves having to defend the validity of their union. While they were a beautiful couple, in the end, they turned out to be incompatible and divorced in 1995. Crawford has always claimed the age gap is what deteriorated the relationship.

Controversial Chicago Bulls Star, Dennis Rodman married Baywatch star, Carmen Electra at the Little Chapel of the Flowers in Las Vegas. Rumors in the news swirled afterwards that Rodman tried to annul the marriage, claiming he was drunk during the ceremony. They stayed married for a short while, until the divorce was finalized. Rodman now spends his time visiting North Korea, performing basketball exhibition games and hanging out with the country’s controversial leader, Kim Jong Un.

The two had met at Bruce Willis’s film premiere of Stakeout. Bruce, being a huge Hollywood bachelor, shocked everyone by settling down and becoming a family man. The couple celebrated in their hotel later, but her Mother had it squashed within 55 hours, after Spears claimed she didn’t know what she had done. After all, she was only 22, and drunk. She now has a show in Vegas, but no marriage.

Billy Bob Thornton dumped his fiancé, Laura Dern for the gorgeous Angelina Jolie. The couple met shooting the movie, Pushing Tin. The couple were married in blue jeans with Angelina Jolie sporting her, “Billy Bob” tattoo on her arm. The ceremony took place at the Little Church of the West in Las Vegas. They were married in 2000 and divorced by 2003. Jolie was Thornton’s fifth marriage; Thornton was Jolie’s second marriage. They were known for wearing vials of each others’ blood around their necks and making out on the red carpet.

Ripa and Consuelos met on the set of the famous soap opera, All My Children. When Mark Consuelos proposed to Kelly Ripa, her response was supposedly “why not tomorrow?” The couple has often said they had a Vegas wedding because they wanted to get married right away, to them, it was like having a regular one. They are still married today.
