Anyone who watched the successful television sitcom, “Full House” now knows that little Michelle Tanner was actually played by identical twin sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The twins began the role at nine months old, complying with child labour laws the sisters took turns on the show up until the sitcom’s conclusion in 1995. The now 27 year-old twins are among the wealthiest women in the world.

Actress Scarlett Johansson has a twin brother, named Hunter. He is also an actor, who appeared alongside his sister in the film “Manny & Lo” in 1996. Hunter was also a campaign adviser for President Obama. Hunter will occasionally escort his sister to events, such as to the White House Correspondents Dinner and a recent fashion fundraising event. Scarlett is three minutes older than Hunter.
Ashton & Michael Kutcher – Born February 7, 1978
That’s right! Ashton Kutcher the sitcom star of “Two and a Half Men” has a fraternal twin brother named Michael who currently lives in their home-state of Iowa. Michael was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at a young age, undergoing a heart transplant when he was just 13 years old. “Ashton never left my side,” said Michael of his brother’s devotion through the procedure. “He showed me the love one brother has for another.” The two were quite close growing up in Iowa, until Ashton moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career in his early 20s. Michael, says of his childhood, “I was the kid with the big Coke-bottle glasses and the hearing aid. There was a lot of teasing, a lot of the normal mean stuff.” Ashton was his self-appointed protector. Way to go Ashton!
Kiefer and Rachel Sutherland – Born December 21, 1966
Kiefer and Rachel Sutherland were born in London while their father, actor Donald Sutherland, and mother Shirley Douglas (an award-winning Canadian actress) were working. You can really see the resemblance between actor Kiefer Sutherland and his fraternal twin sister, Rachel. Kiefer is seven minutes older than Rachel. His character, Jack Bauer could have used the ‘twin doubling factor’ on the television series “24” many times. Sister Rachel now works behind the camera in Hollywood as a post-production supervisor.
Aaron and Angel Carter – Born December 7, 1987
Aaron Carter is an American pop and hip hop singer. He has a famous brother, Nick who is with the boy group, The Backstreet Boys, and Aaron also has a twin sister named Angel. “There’s definitely like a twin connection. Its not like you love them more or anything. It’s just that you connect with them more, you know” said Aaron.
On February 8, 2014 their connection shines (see photo) as Aaron walked his twin sister down the aisle as she married Corey Conrad.
Alanis and Wade Morissette – Born June 1, 1974
Alanis Morissette has a twin brother who shares her passion for music. Brother Wade is an independent pop-rock musician, as well as a yoga instructor, therapist and author. Keeping it in the family, Alanis chose to give her son Ever the same middle name as her brother Wade, which is Imre.
Aaron and Shawn Ashmore – Born October 7, 1979
These brothers were both bitten by the ‘identical bug’ — they are both actors. Aaron and Shawn have played twins in several movies. They have also pursued roles independently – Shawn starred in the television series, “Animorphs” and as Iceman in the “X-Men” films, while Aaron was in TV series “Smallville” and “Warehouse 13.”
Jerry and Terry Hall – Born July 2, 1956
Jerry Hall and her twin sister Terry were raised in a Dallas suburb. The six-foot-tall sisters took different paths. Jerry became a model and by 1977, she had been on forty magazine covers including Italian Vogue and Cosmopolitan. Jerry Hall was married to Mick Jagger for nine years. They have four children and divorced in 1999. Twin sister Terry remains in Dallas. Her daughter, Elaine Ferguson, continues her family’s artistic tradition, showcased by a career in photography.
Gisele and Patricia Bündchen– Born July 20, 1980
The Bündchen household was likely a very popular place growing up. Supermodel Gisele has five sisters, including her fraternal twin, Patricia. The Brazilian beauty was said to lament her twin’s looks when she was younger, complaining that her twin sister was the “hotter one.” Patricia, who is seven minutes younger, has also modeled, but now acts as manager to Gisele—who seems to be doing just fine.
Nicholas Brendon and Kelly Donovan- Born April 12, 1971
Nicholas Brendon was born three minutes after his identical twin brother, Kelly Donovan. Both young men are actors. Nicholas got his big break as an actor when he landed the role of Xander Harris on the television series, “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” in 1997. The series ran until 2003 and had both a huge fan base. Brendon and his brother Kelly appeared together in the episode, “The Replacement” in which Xander has to deal with having a sinister double. Kelly also served as Nicolas’ stand-in as well as his stunt double on the show.
Deidre and Andrea Hall – Born October 31, 1947
Deidre and Andrea Hall are identical twin sisters and both are actresses. Deirdre is one of America’s most beloved daytime actresses, who created her signature character, Dr. Marlena Evans in 1976 on the long-running soap opera, “Days of our Lives”. The popularity of the character created a furor and a fan following seldom seen on television. Twin Andrea has played the “evil” twin, Samantha to Diedre’s Dr. Evans character on the soap as well.
Jon and Daniel Heder – Born October 26, 1977
Jon and Daniel Heder grew up in a Mormon family in Oregon with four brothers and sisters. These identical twins both attended Brigham Young University and ended up in the entertainment business. Jon gained instant success in “Napoleon Dynamite” and Dan recently with the animated the film “Monster House.” The two have their own production company called, Greasy Entertainment.
