Prison Break Stars: Where Are They Now?

via fanpop.com

Prison Break ran on Fox from 2005 to 2009. For four seasons, it kept us glued to our chairs. The TV series is about an innocent man, Lincoln Burrows, who ends up on death row for a murder he didn’t commit. He’s desperate to clear his name and get out of prison before they kill him, so he and his brother come up with a desperate plan; they are going to break him out.

The first season is all about getting him out. They, along with several other inmates, escape, leading authorities on the longest manhunt in TV history. The series was originally planned to run just 13 episodes, but its popularity and award-winning status kept in on the air for four great seasons. The series has spawned a ton of connected side projects, like a video game, novels, and a mobile phone spin-off series: Prison Break: Proof of Innocence.

In 2015, a season five was announced, bringing back the cast and crew we had grown to love over five seasons. Filming for season five began in March of 2016 and we are all holding our breaths for it to be ready for TV. Several spoilers have been leaked as filming has begun but the spoilers have brought up more questions than answers. But for answers, we’ll just have to wait.

In the meantime, where have those actors been? It’s been a long time between seasons (almost seven years!). So what have everyone’s favorite prison escapees been up to since 2009?

10. Dominic Purcell – Lincoln Burrows

Dominic Purcell has been doing quite a bit of acting since his days on Prison Break. He is returning for season 5, but he’s also shot tons of movies and shows in between. Since 2009, the ripped actor has been in Elimination Game, an action movie from 2014, and has been playing Heat Wave in the DC Universe’s Legends of Tomorrow and the Flash along with Wentworth Miller. The two are great friends, and that wonderful chemistry they have makes them great on TV together. Purcell says he loves playing bad guys, and hopes to get more great evil doer roles in the future. We agree!

9. Wentworth Miller – Michael Scofield

Along with Dominic Purcell, Wentworth Miller is also playing a villain in the DC universe; the actor is playing Captain Cold in the Legends of Tomorrow and the Flash. He’s also guest starred in several TV shows, including House M.D. in 2011, Law and Order: SVU, and the voice of Deathstroke in Young Justice. Wentworth’s weight became national news when the actor became the target of a vicious meme in 2016; the photo had him as his Prison Break self, then after he put on some weight, with the words “When you break out of prison and find out about McDonald’s Monopoly.” His response was absolutely heartbreaking: “In 2010, semi-retired from acting, I was keeping a low-profile for a number of reasons. First and foremost, I was suicidal.” The actor’s response went more viral than the original image, and his devastating response gave a lot of people struggling with suicidal thoughts a little bit of hope.

8. Amaury Nolasco – Fernando Sucre

Fernando was played by Amaury Nolasco. This brilliant actor didn’t slow down at all with the ending of Prison Break; he’s been in so much stuff, we don’t even have room to list it all out here. This talented man has been in a few movies, including A Good Day to Die Hard, the 2016 crime thriller Criminal and more. He’s also been on the small screen, in the comedy Telenovela, the crime drama Rizzoli & Isles, the crime action series Gang Related in 2014, and the office comedy Work It. This diverse actor has also recently been seen in Italy, rubbing elbows with Telenovela co-star Eva Longoria and her fiance Jose Antonio Baston. He is also returning for season five of Prison Break!

7. Robert Knepper – Theodore ‘T-Bag’ Bagwell

Guess who else has been busy? Robert Knepper, who played T-Bag in Prison Break, has four movies in post-production due to come out in 2016. He’s even begun work on the new Twin Peaks reboot coming in 2017 as well as filming for the fifth season of Prison Break. How does he have time to sleep? He was also in the last Hunger Games movie and the hit show iZombie. Immediately after Prison Break ended, Robert was filming for Heroes and Heroes: Slow Burn as Samuel Sullivan. He’s even guest starred on an episode of American Horror Story (2015). He’s a guy that likes to be kept busy!

6. Sarah Wayne Callies – Dr. Sara Tancredi

The only lady on this list has also decided to returned for the fifth season of Prison Break as Dr. Sara Tancredi. Since last season filmed, Sarah Wayne Callies has been busy, playing as Lori in the Walking Dead, filming the 2016 movie This Is Your Death about a reality TV show that ask contestants to kill themselves for the viewer’s enjoyment, and playing Katie in Colony. She owes most of her landing her beloved role on Colony to Nicolas Cage, who she filmed the thriller Pay the Ghost with in 2015. Cage suggested she send a tape in to Colony because they didn’t want to her come in for audition and helped her push through the initial rejection and go after it. What a guy!

5. Wade Williams – Brad Bellick

Wade Williams loves to guest star on TV shows! Since his death scene in Prison Break, Wade has been in an episode of Grimm, Transparent, The League, Revenge, NCIS, and even the Legend of Korra. And that isn’t even all of them! He was also in the Dark Knight Rises and Gangster Squad. Wade has also been busy with voicing some Batman characters for various TV cartoons. Right now, Wade is focusing on his current projects a historical drama TV series called Mercy Street and a 2016 thriller Ice Scream. Since his character died in the series, Wade won’t be returning for the fifth season of Prison Break.

4. William Fichtner – Alex Mahone

Upstate New York native William Fichtner will also not be reprising his role as FBI agent Alex Mahone for Prison Break season five. However, that doesn’t mean the actor hasn’t been busy. He has recently taken part in several indie projects, including the film American Wrestler: The Wizard. He’s also in the Independence Day sequel coming in 2016 and was in the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Although he’s been working a bunch, William Fichtner says that the best project he has worked on recently was the voice over for an ESPN documentary called the Four Falls of Buffalo, the story of the Buffalo Bills losing four consecutive Super Bowls. The actor is a big fan and wants to be involved in any work that has to do with Buffalo and surrounding area.

3. Paul Adelstein – Paul Kellerman

Paul Kellerman will be coming back for season five of Prison Break! Paul Adelstein has had regular work since 2009; he’s been a regular on ABCs hit show Scandal and also Private Practice. The actor and his wife, Liza Weil, filed for divorce in January 2016, after nearly 10 years of marriage and one child together. The two met at a playwright’s conference. But Paul Adelstein isn’t slowing down. Beside the fifth season filming, the star also has a movie set to be in theatres in May 2016 called Mothers and Daughters. He is also gearing up to co-star in a new Hulu original drama called Chance alongside Hugh Laurie and Gretchen Mol. The project is set to debut in late 2016.

The young actor has been in the thriller TV series Bates Motel, in the TV/video game crossover Quantum Break, and the sexy vampire-themed True Blood. He’s also guest starred in shows like Law and Order: SVU, Mad Men, CSI: Miami, and Sons of Anarchy. Marshall has been married to the Killing actress Jamie Anne Allman for nearly a decade; their tenth anniversary will be in June 2016. Allman will not be returning to Prison Break for season five, but look for him in the upcoming made-for-TV movie comedy called Ken Jeong Made Me Do It.

1. Rockmond Dunbar – Benjamin Miles ‘C-Note’ Franklin

By the time Rockmond Dunbar landed his role as C-Note on Prison Break, he was already well-known for his roles in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Soul Food. However, he’s made it even bigger since then; riding high on Prison Break’s success, he’s landed roles in Sons of Anarchy, For Richer or Poorer, The Mentalist, and the FX crime drama Terriers. Rockmond will be in the fifth season of Prison Break and he also has another upcoming movie, Busted, about a club of women who catch men cheating on their wives. We also earned a spot on TV Guide’s Television’s 50 Sexiest Stars of All Time, and for good reason!
