For the first time, American singer Miley Cyrus has topped the UK singles chart.
The Hannah Montana star’s latest single “We Can’t Stop” topped the British chart as reported by Official Charts Company.
Cyrus sold 128,000 copies of the track in a span of one week which marked her first top ten single in Britain. Miley’s success ended up the reign of Swedish DJ and producer Avicii topping the chart for three weeks already with “Wake Me Up.”
“We Can’t Stop” is the first track to be released from her second album Demonstration, which will be out in the UK next month.
Her singles “Party in the USA“ and “The Climb“ only ended up at number 11 in 2009.
Miley is famous as the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and sister to Metro Station frontman Trace Cyrus. The 20-year-old singer and actress has a net worth of $120 million and is one of the most successful celebrities of her generation.
