Albert Einstein once said: “I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.” Kanye West once said: “Fur pillows are hard to actually sleep on.” Celebrities do have a certain amount of influence over their fans and the public. They are given a platform where they are able to express their opinions, thoughts and feelings. Some celebrities have done a lot of good with their fame, such as donating money, running charities and speaking to children at schools. However, not everything that comes out of a celebrity’s mouth is gold and in some cases can make them the laughing stock of every late night talk show. For some celebrities, it seems that no matter how successful they are in life, they might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer. They seem to demonstrate that they’re not very bright. In some cases, they constantly throw out questionable facts or flat out say or do things that make people question their success.
For some of these celebrities, it might be beneficial if they went back to school. Just to brush up on some subjects or in other cases, learn where Canada is on a map. That might seem too harsh if it wasn’t true. Nobody wants to make fun of any of these celebrities for their lack of knowledge… okay, some people do but this is just to help out these rich millionaires who have a lot of money. Here is a look at 15 Celebrities Who Should Go Back To School.
15. Mike Tyson
“(He) called me a ‘r*pist’ and a ‘recluse.’ I’m not a recluse” – Mike Tyson
Mike Tyson was one of the most feared fighters of all time and undisputed Heavyweight Champion. He won the WBA, IBF and WBC titles and was the youngest to do so. In 1992, he was convicted of r*pe and spent time in prison. Later, he fought Evander Holyfield in a controversial fight that ended when Tyson bit off Holyfield’s ear. Tyson was known for being unpredictable, volatile and violent. However, he changed over the years but still is terrifying. He retired from boxing and began to suffer from many financial issues, which eventually resulted in him declaring bankruptcy. He made some questionable purchases over the years. At one point he owned three royal Bengal tigers. He has demonstrated a fondness for reading. He once said, “These books ain’t window dressing. I think Machiavelli’s the most sophisticated writer outside of Shakespeare. Way ahead of his time. Such a manipulative person. Everything he accomplished he did by kissin’ ass.” Maybe he doesn’t need to go back to school. Although, once when discussing his financial issues and personal struggles he said, “I guess I’m gonna fade into Bolivian.” We’re pretty sure he meant oblivion, but we’re not going to correct him.
14. Paris Hilton
“This is Earth. Isn’t it hot?” – Paris Hilton
At one point, Paris Hilton was considered the punchline to every blonde joke ever written. She might need to go back to school to learn basic things, like how us normal folks really live but she does not need to go back for business. Paris Hilton rose to fame as the heiress of the Hilton Family, a socialite and reality TV star. She starred in the reality series The Simple Life, with Nicole Richie. She’s also infamously known for the s*x tape, 1 Night in Paris. Early on she was known for almost exclusively saying the phrase: “That’s Hot”. However, she parlayed her early success into a successful business career. She has over 40 Paris Hilton Stores all over the world, and it’s been reported that her perfume line brings in around $1.5 billion and she gets paid for club appearances. She claims that the whole “dumb blonde” was just an act. She stated in an interview, “I used to act dumb. It was an act. I am 26 years old, and that act is no longer cute. It is not who I am, nor do I want to be that person for the young girls who looked up to me.” It seems like it was all an act and she doesn’t need to go back to school, although she also once said: “What’s Walmart, do they sell like wall stuff?”
“Here lies a guy who did a lot of dumb things… and learned a little.” – Steve-O
That’s what Steve-O believes will be written on his tombstone. Maybe he needs to have a little more balance. Steve-O is best known for his time on MTV’s Jackass. The series revolved around dangerous stunts and wild pranks performed by Steve-O and Johnny Knoxville. Jackass quickly became one of MTV’s most popular series and eventually resulted in several Jackass movies. He’s performed many stunts, such as jumping off of buildings and bridges, wearing a jellyfish like a sombrero and letting his friends play a game of darts off his derrière. In fact, he’s done a lot of painful looking stunts involving his butt, including having fireworks shot at it. He’s performed dangerous stunts involving animals, despite never being trained to do so. He might do these stunts because he’s not very bright or he just likes the thrill of danger. It might even be a combination of the two. However, some of his tattoos don’t seem very dangerous and he himself calls them, “Dumb Tattoos”. The two most famous tattoos he has is one of a self portrait covering his whole back with his quote, “Yeah dude, I rock” and he has the phrase, “Your Name” written on his butt cheek.
12. Mariah Carey
“I disregard time. You don’t see me wear a watch. I don’t have birthdays.” – Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey is a five-time Grammy Award winning singer. She is one of the best selling solo artists of all time. She has released several critically and commercially acclaimed albums, such as Mariah Carey, Butterfly and The Emancipation of Mimi. She’s also appeared in a number of films, including Glitter, Precious and The Butler. She was married to Nick Cannon, whom she had twins with. Later, they went through a nasty separation. She has struggled and overcome a lot, however her thoughts on poverty and the human body might send her back to the eighth grade. She once said: “Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can’t help but cry. I mean I’d love to be skinny like that but not with all those flies and death and stuff.”
11. David Beckham
“My parents have been there for me, ever since I was about one.” – David Beckham
One can only assume that David Beckham was on his own for the first year of his life. David Beckham is a retired footballer who played for several teams including, Manchester United, Milan and LA Galaxy. He also played for the England national team. He’s also done modeling. He’s married to former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, and the two are considered fashion icons. He works with several companies such as Adidas, Pepsi and Burger King. He’s also launched his own fragrance line. However, even with all of his success it might do him some good to back to school and not worry about football. When talking about his son and religion, he said: “I definitely want Brooklyn to be christened, but I don’t know into what religion yet.” He’s lucky he’s pretty and can kick a soccer ball.
10. Kim Kardashian
“If labor’s worse than this, I’ll hang myself. I’ll literally take a knife and slit my throat” – Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian is best known for her role on the reality series, Keeping Up With The Kardashians and the several spin-offs, such as Kourtney and Kim Take New York. She rose to fame as a socialite and reality star. She also rose to fame because of a s*x tape that was leaked starring her and Ray J. She’s also a very successful entrepreneur and has launched a fragrance line, a line of cosmetics and a shoe shopping website, Shoedazzle. She owns and runs the clothing boutique, D-A-S-H, which has several locations worldwide. All that would indicate that she doesn’t need to go back to school. However, some have questioned Kim’s intelligence, mostly because she married Kanye West (just kidding!). Okay, not really. However, Kim sometimes seems very concerned with issues that might not be as big as she thinks. She once said that, “I hate when women wear the wrong foundation color. It might be the worst thing on the planet when they wear their make up too light.” Not sure where she would list mass shootings, war, poverty and hate crimes on that list.
9. Gwyneth Paltrow
“I would rather die than let my kids eat cup-a-soup” – Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrow is an actress and as appeared in several films, such as Seven, Sliding Doors and the Iron Man series. She won an Academy Award for her role in the film Shakespeare In Love. She once referred to her separation from Chris Martin as a “conscious uncoupling”, which kind of sounds like the title of a horror movie. One of the reasons she should go back to school is because in a lot of ways, she’s still there. She often mentions that she’s good friends with Jay Z and Beyoncé (aka the cool kids). Sometimes she had the tendency to say things that make it seem like she needs to go back to health class. She one said: “I’d rather smoke crack than let my kids eat cheese from a tin.” Maybe eating cheese from a tin is unhealthy but smoking crack has to be a close second.
8. Britney Spears
“I get to go to lots of overseas places, like Canada” – Britney Spears
Britney Spears is considered a pop icon and helped revive teen pop in the late 90s. However, she might need to go back to school for some geography classes. She has been dubbed the “Princess of Pop” and has released several chart topping singles, including “Oops…I Did It Again”, “Toxic” and “Womanizer”. She has also appeared in TV shows, such as Will & Grace, How I Met Your Mother and Glee. In addition to that she also starred in the film Crossroads. Britney Spears also found herself at the center of controversy on several occasions because of her volatile relationship with Kevin Federline, hard partying lifestyle and her parenting skills. She was once photographed with her infant baby on her lap while driving. Although she is extraordinarily talented, she does seem to reinforce the “blonde” stereotype when she says thinks like, “I’ve never really wanted to go to Japan. Simply because I don’t like eating fish. And I know that’s very popular out there in Africa.”
7. Jessica Simpson
“Twenty-three is old. It’s almost 24, which is like almost mid-20’s.” – Jessica Simpson
Jessica Simpson is a singer and reality television star. She has released several albums, such as Sweet Kisses, In This Skin and A Public Affair. She also appeared on the hit TV series, That 70’s Show and in the films The Dukes of Hazard and Employee of the Month. She is best known for appearing in the hit reality series, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. The series revolved around Jessica’s marriage to her now ex, Nick Lachey. The series gave a glimpse into the mind of Jessica. It was during this time that she became known for some of her not so bright comments. During one episode and while eating tuna, Jessica asked: “Is this chicken I have or is it fish? I know it’s tuna but it says chicken of the sea.” She also thought that Buffalo Chicken wings were made out of Buffalos, which she doesn’t eat.
6. Arnold Schwarzenegger
“I don’t understand how they can call me anti-Latino when I’ve made four movies in Mexico.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger
Arnold Schwarzenegger is a retired bodybuilder, former Governor of California and actor. He rose to fame as a bodybuilder and transited into Hollywood. He has starred in a number of highly successful action films, such as Terminator, Total Recall and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. He served as the Governor of California from 2003 to 2011, and eventually returned to a film career. Over the years Arnold has said some questionable things. He once said, “I think gay marriage is something that should be between a man and woman”. He doesn’t seem to have a very good understanding of gay marriage and he was a governor at one time. Arnold has proved he has the ability to learn. He once stated, “I learned my lesson. I had several harassment lessons.” Arnold proves that you can learn something new everyday.
5. Kanye West
“You can’t look at a glass half full or empty if it’s overflowing” – Kanye West
Kanye West is a very creative and talented individual but sometimes doesn’t come across as very humble or bright. Kanye West is a musician, rapper and producer. He has released several critically and commercially acclaimed albums such as, The College Dropout, Late Registration and 808’s and Heartbreak. He’s married to Kim Kardashian and they have two children together, North and Saint. Kanye has also displayed some less than mature behavior by interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the Grammy Awards. Going back to school might help him out with some of his facts and behavior, but it seems he wouldn’t be eager to crack open a book. Kanye once said, “Sometimes people write novels and they just be so wordy and so self-absorbed. I am not a fan of books. I would never want a books autograph. I am a proud non-reader of books.” It might do Kanye some good to take night classes, try reading a book or maybe start back at pre-school.
4. Sarah Palin
“We can send a message and say, ‘You want to be in America, A, you’d better be here legally or you’re out of here. B, when you’re here, lets speak American.” – Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin is a politician and author who was the Governor of Alaska from 2006 to 2009. She was also the Republican Vice Presidential Nominee during the 2008 Election running with Arizona Senator John McCain. During that time she was the butt of many late night jokes. Tina Fey was universally praised for her impression of Palin on Saturday Night Live, including a sketch where Fey used actual Palin quotes. She has written a book, Going Rogue and hosted the TV series Amazing America with Sarah Palin. She sometimes gets her facts mixed up and her history wrong and to be honest, there are too many quotes to include. However, she constantly defends her intelligence including the time she invented the word, “Refudiate”. During an interview with Katie Couric, she was asked about which newspapers she reads and where she gets her information. She seemed to have a difficult time naming one single magazine or newspaper. Her now famous response was: “All of ‘em, any of ‘em that have been in front of me over all these years.”
3. Jaden Smith
“If A Book Store Never Runs Out Of A Certain Book, Dose That Mean That Nobody Reads it, Or Everybody Reads it.” – Jaden Smith
Jaden Smith is seventeen years old and should still be in school. Judging by the way he spells “Does” as “Dose”, one can only assume that he needs to stay in school a little longer. In fact, he seems to struggle with “Does” in several of his Tweets online. Jaden Smith is the son of actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett- Smith. Jaden Smith has appeared in several films, such as The Pursuit of Happyness and After Earth. In 2012, he released his first mixtape The Cool Café. Like many young people his age, Jaden loves to Tweet and express his opinions. The only problem is with each Tweet it makes one think that his mother and father should send him to live with a rich aunt or uncle in Bel-Air. There are several interesting Tweets but one that really sticks out is when he stated, “If Everybody In The World Dropped out of School We Would Have A Much More Intelligent society.”
2. Donald Trump
“I was down there, and I watched our police and our firemen, down on 7-Eleven, down at the World Trade Center, right after it came down.” – Donald Trump
Anyone who mixes up a tragedy like 9/11 and a store that sells the Big Gulp like 7-Eleven might need to consider going back to school. Donald Trump is a real estate mogul, reality TV star and the presumptive Republican nominee for the 2016 U.S. Presidential election. His campaign has been at the center of controversy due to his sexist, racist and hate-filled speeches. Despite the many detractors, he also has thousands of supporters who strongly believe his message. However, he doesn’t seem to have a very strong understanding of the economy and despite his claims of being a business tycoon, has had many-failed businesses. Some of his failed businesses include Trump Airlines, Trump Vodka and Trump University. In fact, he has filed for bankruptcy in the past. Maybe it would do Trump some good to take a few business classes and maybe he should do it at Trump University. He also seems to have a bit of misunderstanding when it comes to global warming. He said: “It’s freezing and snowing in New York-We need global warming!” One last great Trump quote just for fun: “I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”
1. Justin Bieber
“You don’t need to go to church to be a Christian. If you go to Taco Bell that doesn’t make you a taco.” – Justin Bieber
One can only assume that it’s possible that Justin once prayed to a taco. Justin Bieber is still very young and he looks even younger, so if he decided to go to school if might not be as awkward for him as it would be for Kanye West. Justin Bieber is a teen idol and adored by millions and millions of his fans. He has released several albums, such as My World 2.0, Believe and Purpose. He was discovered after becoming a YouTube sensation. He’s still very young and perhaps that explains his many “blonde” moments. He once dated the beautiful Selena Gomez and broke her heart (which isn’t very smart). He could use some help with politics and expressing how he truly feels. He once said, “I’m not sure about political parties. But whatever they have in Korea, that’s bad.” Although, it could be assumed that even people in Korea would think breaking up with Selena Gomez is pretty bad too.
